The fate of an unknown world lies inside her…

Screwing up an interview: Check. Late for class and missing an exam: Check. Chased by monsters for a magic inside of me that has the power to tip a battle between gods and demons either way and potentially destroy humanity in the process: Check.

I didn't think my run of bad luck could get any worse.

Then I get caught up in a spell gone wrong and now I have the magic of Luck bonded to me.

Let’s let that irony sink in…

Now, I have demons with no eyes and no mouths hunting me, trying to get Luck out of me - and they don't care if they drain all my blood to do so.

Oh, yeah... Demons – apparently, they exist.

And so do gods.

I can't work out if my luck has taken a turn for the better or if it has gotten much worse, because I've got three gods claiming they're the guardians of the magic inside me, and until that magic is gone, they my guardians too. They’re sexy as hell, and as attracted to me as I am to them but that could be because of magic.

Good luck? Bad luck? It’s time to start making my own luck.

Cursed Luck is the first book in the Goddess of Fate and Destiny series. This is a medium-build RH novel, meaning the FMC won't choose just one guy - she will choose all of them!

The Goddess of Fate & Destiny series will contain sex, swearing, a smart-ass squirrel shifter, some MFM scenes, and might be more suitable for an 18+ audience. While the series will end on a HEA, there may be cliff-hangers and HFN endings.

2.5 to maybe 3 if I’m being generous. Just an okay read to me. It failed to grab me and the characters had zero chemistry . The guys barely seemed to tolerate one another in spite of having fought together for ages. I mean...they just bitched at one another like babies and made a lot of stupid mistakes that put themselves and Kia in danger. It didn’t make them seem more “human,” rather just made me like them less.

The world building wasn’t terribly fleshed out (sort of an Asian inspired greek mythology mash up). There are Gods and guardians— who are god-like (???) and can wield magic. And there are demons and Demi gods. And then there is this magic called Luck that no one seems to understand (authors: do you??).

Seriously this is all just thrown together and barely explained. No explanation about the guys jobs as guardians (how they got the gig or their back stories). Hell, we barely know anything about Kia except she is training to be a vet and is half Asian, has a Brazilian roommate and...uh. That’s it? Right. So, nothing to pull my heartstrings or make me care about her or the guys.

There was some action that showed us that Kia is Neo and amazing af at everything she tries. Did I mention that Kia did not freak out at all about seeing demons (and being attacked by them)...among other crazy stuff that happens to her? I know this is UF but geez, give the girl some real emotions!

One last thing::::authors, can you stop using words like “milking” in your romance-scenes?! Yuuuuuck.

Some of its weird slash silly but i enjoyed and finished it and it was fun to read the world concept the story etc even if it felt a bit repetitive and a bit like get to the point already at times but yeah it delivered on what i wanted so even if it was annoying in parts haha.

What an amazing story and start to this really addicting series. This is the first book and I was hooked from just the blurb and could not put down at all. She really has no clue that magic anything supernatural exists and is about to find out how close she is to it. Jae, Song and Gun I liked really well and are the guardians of Luck and now Kia, who I just loved. Can't wait for more of this series and to find out more of it all.

Twice the pages, Half the story

The coauthors of this book series take a different tack on the co-written novel. The narration shifts first person perspective from chapter to chapter rewinding the story so that readers are able to get the same information twice. It’s the same dialogue, same events, told from another one of the 5 protagonists. If the authors used a limited omniscient 3rd person narrative, the series would be half as long and move much faster with less repetition. As it was, by book 3 and the introduction of the Rok character, who is an abusive dillhole, just like Ms. Ackles’s character Javion in her latest book, I felt confident skipping the redundant chapters.

As is typical of the RH genre, Kia meets 3 men and immediately quits school, leaves her job, and skips out on her entire life to follow them wherever they want to take her. She goes from being happily single to sleeping with multiple men with no qualms or regrets about everything that she is giving up to be with them. I am not even going to get into the part where the only veterinary program in NY is located upstate at Cornell in Ithaca, not NYC. Or the part where half the book is predicated on Korean culture, wherein the AU is peppered with the use of Korean words to the point that readers may want to keep a browser open to Google translate because the authors don’t bother to explain what the words mean. Of course, despite the references to Korea, the use of Korean, the references to Korean mythology, and having the characters travel to Busan, the characters never explore any aspect of the city. The entire time they were in Korea, they stayed in, ate ramyun, and watched The Masked Singer - all things they could have done if they’d stayed in NY.

This book has it all! Action, adventure, magic, smexy times and mystery. Well we meet Jae, Sing and Gun right of the bat, they are in the middle of a battle. Why are they in battle? Well they are the Guardians of Luck. Luck as in good/bad or as in a person? Interested now? Yep thought so. Somehow this battle is in the God Realm and ended up in NEW YORK CITY! Now we meet Kia who is wanting to become a veterinarian. Well at least she is smart and has goals so that is a plus for me. Unfortunately, she is in the wrong place at the wrong time and manages to have LUCK transferred to her. So now the guys have to figure out how to extract Luck from Kia and keep the demons from getting her. So what will happen? Is there some chemistry there? It is all so very intriguing and I had to find out. Let me tell you I was shocked, like mind blown once some information was revealed. Oh boy I cannot wait for the next book.

A spicy reverse harem New Adult action-romance tucked into a Korean mythology influenced war between gods and demons as it spills over into the mortal realm.

Writing is fairly well executed, which really says something about both the authors and the stellar editing since this is a team-authored book. Good grammar, consistency, and character development, with redundancies limited to the differing POVs.

Sexual content is spicy without being too ridiculous.
Plot is fun and easy to follow, but not intellectually complex. A nice bit of escapism.

Warning- this is part 1 of a multi-part box set series, and while it is not a cliffhanger per se, it ends as the characters transition from one phase of their journey to the next. Basically a gentler, kinder cliffhanger.

R for explicit sexual content, language, and violence.

There was a LOT of "get on with it" moments in this book that things drag a bit, but they weren't terrible, and they didn't feel sloggy.

The Korean...*sigh* As a K-Pop/-Drama and most things Korean culture lover, I didn't mind...but then I know ilhoeyong (romanized version of 일회용) is pronounced eel-hway-yohng, but those not familiar with Korean culture/language could be very put off.

Overall, this was a meh to okay book. I'm going to read the other 3 books in the series, but not until I build up the credits to buy them for free, because I think I would regret paying actual money for these, and I'm sure as hell not gonna pay $10+ for the paperbacks.

Our heroine was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was gifted with luck, but we all know luck can be both good and bad. Now she wants to figure out how to get rid of it before it kills her.

This is the start of an urban fantasy story with a reverse harem element to it. The story is very well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed how the story progressed from normal to paranormal and things just got more interesting from there. Our characters are well done and our heroine is know for the occasional bit of snark, but who can blame her? Overall, it was a fun read and I look forward to more of this series in the future.

I love her

Kia is the kind of FMC I can totally get behind. She’s rather no nonsense, but still has the brains to scream when she bloody needs to. She falls in lust quick, but love is a nonstarter for folks she just met - and she’s upfront about it. And when the twist falls down? She handles it with snark and the appropriate mental melt - I mean, she has NORMAL reactions! We’ll, normal for a heart tough girl.

Great collab!

What a fun and interesting plot. I don't think I have ever read anything like this before. I couldn't tell which part was written by whom, everything blended together so well. I am curious to learn more about the characters and see how they mesh as the story progresses.

It took me a bit to get into this.
I think it's because I've been reading paranormal women's fiction.
25 year old protagonists are more difficult to bond with now that I've read a few more relatable series.

Good smut, some humorous lines, and pretty good story as well. I'm not super eager to read the next book, but if I ever have an afternoon and nothing else floats my boat, book 2 might pop into my Kindle.

3 gods and a woman equal adventure

The main character had so many choices that led her on an awesome adventure with 3 lower gods. I'd definitely recommend and look forward to reading the next book.

To be honest I had a hard time getting into this book. Looking back I think it was me because I just haven't been feeling like reading. As I was on a deadline (which I missed 😑) I tried to push through. In the end I am glad I did!

This was well written with a familiar world that didn't need to have life brought to it, at least at first! Then we visit another realm and there we can see the world building come to life. The characters are dynamic and you can definitely play favorites between them.

I look forward to the next Chapter in this story! I read this because I accepted the 2nd book as an Advance Reader Copy so to do that book justice I had to read this one & I am so glad I did!

A sassy heroine, fiddle Luck and connections that transcend space and realms. I know this is leading to a RH but it does not have a "too fast" vibe compared to some book I might have read before. The book focus on all relations with their intricates and complex repercussions between all. Here the attractions sound tangible and really hot especially since there are no labels.
It was also good to see that this world-building was consistent when Kia was asking questions. I loved how the plot thickens with Luck and magic doing unusual things and leading to questions that have their place in the world that was described. And those plays on déjà-vu and all the innuendos XD...
I really enjoyed this book and hope to be able to pick up the next in the series very soon.

ONE MESMERIZING EXPERIENCE!!!
Thrilling! This talented and gifted dynamic duo is kicking ass and taking names, inflicting one sensational smackdown, blowing this baby into the eye of the storm, blasting it into a tailspin with an astonishing culmination. A spiraling flurry of unexpected mishaps and astonishing events launch those spinning emotions, coiling tightly, bursting to life brilliantly. Combating the drama, tension, intrigue, danger and soaring suspense, keeps you riveted on a razors edge. Add distress and turmoil along with perplexing situations and a boatload of trouble, you have one explosive rollercoaster ride. Bridging the trials and tribulations, along with a slew of shocking twists and stunning turns, tempting our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The characters are authentic and genuine with depth and qualities that blend into amazing personalities. The scenes are so vividly detailed it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Fantastic job guys, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

I loved this story I’ve read other books by Serenity before but J.S. Lee is a new author to me, I enjoyed this story immensely and I look forward to reading book 2. This story centres around Kia who is having nothing but bad luck until she is in the wrong place at the wrong time when luck has accidentally been transferred to her. We meet Jae, Song and Gun who try to help Kia because she has demons after her they want to get the power out of her anyway they can. This story is very entertaining action packed, chuckle worthy with danger and romance, I loved this story it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I received an ARC of this book for my honest review, now here’s all the juicy bits. This book was action packed kept me wanting to read more I think had I not been sick and had a sick kiddo I could have easily devoured this book in far less time than it took. I’ve been reading more dedications and this book has one that will make you laugh. I was really invested in the characters and excited to wee where the next book takes them. Each chapter is told in either Jae or Kieria’s point of view and at the start of each chapter you get a little squirrel picture and the name of whichever’s view it is, the pictures are an amusing little touch to a fun book with the right dashes of humor, romance and peppered with loads of action!

First off the little squirrel pictures at the start of each chapter are super cute!
I love the female main character in this book; she is great but doesn’t have such a good relationship with luck! Lol There is Jae, Song and Gun trying to extract this luck that has mistakenly been given to the main character . These three are a great team that compliment each other greatly.
This book kept me interested and I look forward to the next book in the series.

So, new authors to me. Will I go forth and read more of their work? Absolutely without a doubt. I don’t do spoilers or tell you what’s happening, read the synopsis!
However human Kia being hit by lucky magic starts the ball rolling. This book had some seriously hot sexy times. Loving the characters, not sure which male I want the most. I’m sure they will flourish and cause palpitations for the readers. The plot is growing and it is intriguing me but I’ll have to wait for book 2!

Great read

Very interesting book, with lots of fine detail.
I really enjoyed the storyline, different to books I usually read. Kiaria/Kia is a strong character along with Song, Jae and Gun the character mix is a perfect balance.
With references to the gods, demons, shifters and magic. Great cliffhanger ending, looking forward to the next book.

I could not put this book down, it was fantastic, a slow burn reverse harem, I cannot wait for what comes next. From start to finish the book was filled with action, adventure, mystery and humour with a few of steamy bits. The story was well written, the characters well developed and the chemistry between the characters was awesome, I hope it hots up a bit more in book two.
