The deadliest game is the one you never chose to play.

Finding out Ares, the god of war, is my father was a shock.
Finding out I’m destined to lead his troops out of the aether and overthrow Cronus himself?
Let’s just say I’m gonna need more than chamomile tea to power through this.
Hades, Loki and Fenrir are the last three people I’d want to be stranded with, but the only way we’re getting out of this hellscape is by working together.
If they think I’m going to forget all their wicked games just because we have a common goal, they’re dead wrong.
The Queen is taking her throne back, and these three gorgeous jerks are going to have to grovel if they want forgiveness.

This is the final book in the Academy of the Gods Trilogy.

I have absolutely no idea how everything is going to get wrapped up in one last book.

So much potential with a major let down.

I thought this series had a lot of potential. I quite enjoyed books 1 and 2. Most of book 3 was good as well except the ending. I felt Kore was going to play a bigger role in defeating Cronus.
Spoiler.....

There were also alot of unanswered questions for me. Like why did Ares give Kore an amulet if she never used it. Why was Thor doing Cornus's dirty work in the first place? Who the exactly is Eris besides a different part of Kore. Seemed like a lot of information was skipped over to finish the book. Had so much potential to be great.

It feels unfinished. The end is too rushed, it seems like the author forgot she only planed to write 3 books and then realised she didn't actually put an end to the story.
The plot is way too simple, in my opinion, for a Greek mythology inspired story. I expected something bigger and spectacular. Talk about an anticlimactic end.
Why introduce Ares when he has no role ? I wanted clash of the titans damnit and I got a Greek Dumbledore.
What were Thor's reasons for what he did ? Is Odin ok ?
How can a young girl fool a Stone if they are as powerful as written ? I mean, how can Odin be fooled ?
Why make such a big deal of the games and ABSOLUTELY nothing happen ?
Why Dionysus is not in the same "dream" as the others ? What is his "dream" then ?
Where Kore's powers come from ? Some are from her mother, but "Eris" is a part of her father's bloodline. It would have been so interesting to know more about that instead of Kore's lust for the boys.

So yeah. It was ok, but shallow.

This is not a good book 1.5 rounded up, although I’m going back and rounding down the other two.

This series started off strong and I was so optimistic after the first book, however the second left me super worried and the third all those worries came to roost.

This series should have been MUCH longer by at least 3 books. Way too much drama and plot just crammed in this final book and more loose ends and plot holes than a chunky knit sweater eaten by rats and moths.

The biggest issue was the romance or lack there of rather. There was zero relationship building in any of these books, the change from love to hate flips with virtually no trigger or rational. I read these books did either the romance or the erotica and both of those were lacking.

Huh. Clearly an intervention. I wasn’t sure how everything would be wrapped up but I enjoyed it and It was pretty smooth throughout. I’m glad there was no bullying because I’m pretty sick of the bullying academy now and really the only one with a bug up his butt was Hades, although it did feel like more enemies to lovers or just plain denial on his part. It did feel a little bit lighthearted/fairytale compared to the previous books, which was a change in pace and yay for character growth. It feels like there are a few things left open for a continuation, which I wouldn’t mind. Worth the wait and would likely read again.

I enjoyed this series for the most part.
In this book there is MM in the harem which I don’t like in my RH. There is a small warning most will miss at the very beginning of book 3, that you have to scroll backwards to see, which most people won’t do.

The big fight & the ending were a let down. This big bad titan who was the strongest of all the Gods was defeated in moments. I was also left with a ton of questions.

A lot of people were introduced but weren’t really fleshed out (Ares, Hermès, etc). The last 30% of the book was just rushed and abrupt.

Another great ending to an awesome trilogy

This has seriously been a great series and I’m sad in a way to say goodbye to these awesome characters but I’m so happy they got their HEA.

I really liked how this book was all about our main characters breaking barriers, showing their vulnerabilities with each other and building a relationship together.

As soon as I started reading I quickly devoured it, there were a couple of surprises along the way but otherwise easy to follow.

Loved

I seriously love this series and this book is my favorite of them all. They have to figure out exactly what is going on while she has to learn how to navigate all the guys and her feelings. Just really liked this so much.

It has M/M relationship and didn't warns. It was a good story.

It always feels such a sexism to find a Reverse Harem with M/M romantic involvement. I never came across a Harem, even in Anime, where the male character has to deal with his girls over each other.

I don't know who likes this, no girl fantasies about her guy with another guy, i mean maybe someone does (big world, lots of people). But is not common enough to make my struggle trying to escape this narrative realistic or plausible. If you want to make a gay book, you do you, i'm not homophobic and for so long i restrain myself from saying anything because of the fear of coming across as one. But this is BS.

I can't imagine a gay man reading this and finding amazing to have a "representation" as background story, barely there, of a woman centered book. Used as a justification as why her polyamory works. This is also homophobic.

In a woman centered book, why can't she just be the center and done. Is like man harem are very realistic, so there is no need to put " more reasons" for the woman be with him in a polyamory relationship. But when is reverse, is not realistic enough, so they have to also share each other. That's not a Reverse Harem, that's just a Harem with the woman POV.

I know bisexuality should have a place, and be respected. Although, Gay men don't like of the idea of his man with a woman, and vice versa. It's so complicated for bis in real life, such a struggle. So why anyone thought it will be a nice trend in books for female public? The only answer i have is sexism.

Why this topic is getting this amount of space in woman stories? Don't we have enough sexism already? When a space just for us will be just for us? Can bisexuals create their own space? Force gay men topics in woman books will not make anyone sympathetic. I really doubt heterosexual men find struggle running from gay woman in the middle of their love stories, so it only works against woman and never in their favor.

At least warns us! Part of my anger is that i lost time with this shit.

BTW i like Yaoi, but it is implied, and boys stays with boys, this is not the same thing.

Im not quite sure what kept me reading this trilogy to be honest. I didn't actually enjoy it that much.

Book 3 just decided to completely change direction and decided it was a RH. Like whuuut.
This series was supposed to be about Kore (Persephone) and her betrothed Hades. It was a sort of high school bully trope of sorts, give or take, which really intrigued me. But Hades and Kore hardly ever *really* interacted with each other.
Kore developed a deep friendship with Dionysis, but when she started to pay more attention to Loki, Hades and Fenrir their friendship sort of just drifted and they had minimal interaction.

There was no real scenes of significance with Kore and any of the 4 men, yet all of a sudden they are all in love with each other, soul mates and in a 5-some. Not buying it.
Honestly I kept reading to see how Hades and Kore ended up together and the progression of their relationship, but 3 books in and im not convinced they even like each other, let alone love each other.

One thing I cant stand is being told the characters are in love with each other, while all the text screams they are not.

There was soooooo many plot points left unanswered too and its driving me nuts.
Who is Eris? Why did Thor do what he did? What happened with Ares? Why did Kore never use the pendant Ares gave her? What happened to Helle? Did Kore ever confront Demeter? Like I need allll the answers!

This trilogy had the makings to be a seriously amazing one, but it fell very short.

2.5 to 3 stars
That was a rather fast ending to a slow build up... almost every single problem outlined in book one and two were swept aside with the bigger, new threat. It’s one thing to focus on the most current dilemma, it’s another to completely forgive and forget about all your previous problems. It was rather unrealistic how once the most serious threat of all threats was neutralised everything else just sort of fell into place. And anything else -like say what happened with Demeter, did Hermes come to collect on the IOU, did Kore ever see Ares again- they were just forgotten about.
At the start, the book was a solid four star for me. I don’t usually enjoy Bully Romances but I got through this one without too much cringing and then. The finale had to happen. Instead of hemming it up, the author just left it all as it were and now it’s all just slowly unraveling.
All in all tho I guess it’s an alright read. It’ll leave you with more questions than answers but it wasn’t the worst of the worst academy bully romance. 3 stars for the whole series.

Kindle Unlimited.

This installment was a huge change from the previous two. For starters, we get a glimpse at an overarching plot besides the drama in the school. Also, we get consistent chapters from alternative point of views. Honestly, I think I'd have liked the whole series better if it had followed this formula.

Unfortunately, the overarching drama and plot gets wrapped up in a very anticlimactic way, and everything is forgiven and all lived happily ever after. Insert eye roll here. These are the gods, people! I wanted high drama and ridiculous-ness. If any characters have a right to be that way, it's the beings that are famous for it.

Well....

I really liked this series. I want to say this is the first ever book I've read with a young Hades and I loved it! There was a lot of chaos and fun throughout the books, however I was a little disappointed in this one. I felt it was to rushed and left so many questions. Is this truly the final book in the series? If so, what happens with her father? What happens with her eris? Did her mom know about any of this? Plus it seemed like the relationship only truly solidified in the last part of the book. I really wanted to give more stars but I just feel there was so much awesome build up just for it to fall a bit flat. I still recommend this series though!

Too short. I feel like the whole plot got condensed version of the book.

I wish there was more of character and relationship development. And there was quite a lot of back story that could work as a great base for it.

I also would love to see more of Ether and Ares. The whole Ares is the King there and Kore is a princess of the whole other plain of existence which was quite important. Because of her being the princess there she got 4 consorts, which was a crucial part of defeating and saving Underworld... And yet.. We got just a glimpse of it. She spent like 1,5 day there only?

And what about her confronting her mother??

There so much unused potential ;c

Love it

The academy of the gods series was a fun read. I love an enemies to lovers book, and the way the author took the gods we know from mythology and twisted them to create great characters was brilliant. In the third book, we see more of the lovers part but it's the cutest romance. The other two books had more bullying, but it was soft... Except the almost dying parts. I hope to see more of this world. I'd like to see more of them but probably not. If you enjoy Gods, harems, magic, and a badass chick that won't give up, I recommend this series.

Fun and short rh fantasy

Finally we get some group action, even if I still think there were many missed opportunities here. The spice is relatively tame for group action, or maybe I have been reading way more steamer books. The book is short and I wish the world building was expanded more, but it was well done for the pages we had. Not a lot of action and I wish there were more Ares I'm the story.
Overall it was good, fast and entertaining, as well as spicy.

that was so rushed! and no grovelling!

through out the series there inconsistencies like ppls eye colour and rooms changing and stuff. i ignored for the sake of enjoying it for what it was. however so much was wrapped up in this book that were so rushed and had so many holes in story. it was hard to enjoy.

the romance was only believable for one of mmcs. the smut was kinda gross bec the guys were horrible i just couldn’t handle it.

could’ve been great but the final form was lacking.

Deadly Game, book 3 of the Academy of the Gods series, is a book I picked up through Kindle Unlimited. I was so caught up in this series, I ended up reading books 1-3 back to back in two days. There were plenty of surprise reveals and interesting characters throughout the series to keep me interested.

This book series was pretty short and you don’t really get to know the characters that well unfortunately. It leans pretty heavily on you having some background about Greek gods/goddesses for the characters. And also leans pretty heavily on classic tropes. But overall it’s a cute series with a HEA. I wish it had been longer and leaned more into the redemption for villains theme.

I know writing ending to story arcs is hard. But that doesn't mean I am going to read ones I find uninteresting. Plus there was a case of irredeemable bully who says he did it because * good reasons * and honestly he was too much to forgive at all. But the author still wants us to go along with believing our fmc lusts after him. Not for me, no thanks.

really enjoyed the trilogy

So I really enjoyed the trilogy and as much as the world building could have been a tiny bit clearer. It definitely improved in the final book. I enjoyed the sneakiness of the FMC and FINALLY glad they gave the good guy a chance. Really recommend the series

I expected this book to be a disaster and I am right. This story has been left unfurnished, unfinished and underdeveloped. I give it 2 stars for the heat. Nothing else. It's the weakest plotline I've encountered in the last month.

This was a quick series to read, I listened, the male narrator was a bit off but I enjoyed it. Very quick paced- it could have been one book. The romance was really better paced for this having been one large book. I liked the characters and the lore spin. Overall pretty enjoyable.

This is the best book of the three. I think it would have been even better longer. I was suprised how much was packed in.
