Before she went missing in 1937, Amelia Earhart was a nurse, teacher, social worker, and fashion icon. Flying became her passion, though, after her first flight in a plane. She became one of the first licensed female pilots and broke records all the time. She advocated for women to be accepted as more than just stunt pilots or flying instructors. Who knows what else she could've done if it weren't for that final flight...

Great for anyone who likes biographies, flying, or mysteries. Part of a series.

Ever since I read Wings by Danielle Steele, aged about 14, I’ve been obsessed with Amelia Earhart. I love the number of books written about her as an inspirational woman and have had the pleasure of teaching a unit about her at work. It was nice to see this one at a higher level for older children.
