One of the most original books on the spiritual journey I've read recently. Relying on a wide variety of secular and religious sources, Dan invites the reader to explore their "wild", their true self, through a variety of personal growth and initiation experiences. His thoughts on grief (sacred wound) and utilizing nature as a pathway to a deeper connection with God were particularly insightful. Evangelicals (I consider myself one) may find some of the suggested experiences a bit out of the box, but I think his core belief that finding God requires finding our true self is a worthy exploration, guided well by this seasoned leader. Plus, I've known several who have greatly benefitted by his teaching and mentoring.
