After Amber Neilson finds a bullet hole in her medical school cadaver, she and husband Troy Barclay begin an investigation and there is no shortage of suspects. The cadaver’s three wives and seven kids all wanted him dead and none are shy about admitting it. The initial evidence they find points to a son and they arrest him but another family member provides an unbreakable alibi and they have to let the son go. Over and over they establish evidence that points to a suspect and over and over exculpatory evidence counters it and after a month, they have nothing but suspicions. But they are getting close because six men with clubs jump them and Amber is forced to kill one of them. They also uncover what appears to be a Russian GRU sleeper cell and four men try to blow them away with machine guns from a golf course. They doggedly pursue every lead and find incriminating evidence on a son but as they close on him, the Russians ambush them and only a miracle can keep them alive.
After graduating from Arizona State University with degrees in Zoology and Accounting, Mr. Adams joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation where, as a Special Agent, he investigated general crimes such as bank robberies, kidnappings and extortions as well as specializing in complex financial crimes as a forensic accountant. Mr. Adams went on to work for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as an investigator where he worked bank fraud and embezzlement cases. He has been a licensed commercial and residential contractor and built and developed many housing units. As a lark, he signed on with a small Hollywood literary agency where he worked as a literary agent for many years. While working as an agent, he wrote several scripts and the third one was made into a movie called SECOND CHANCES. Since then he has written, directed and produced a number of award-winning shorts and several feature films. Mr. Adams decided to turn several of his scripts into novels and has six of them on Amazon, including the best-seller, FIRST LADY DOWN.
For several months now I’ve had one of Adams’ books on my nightstand. These well-told and well-paced stories race right along; I’m always surprised when the ending arrives. His characters are interesting, so much so they seem to become real. I am so impressed that everything seems to fit together in such an entertaining way! I am looking forward to my next “fix” of the adventures of Troy, Amber, and all the rest of this family of characters!
I loved the concept, the action and I loved the characters... One problem I had was the ending. After a point the action got a tad repetitive.. I loved the book despite some issues I had... Overall a good book
