The book is composed of 16 chapters, and it is best described as 16 separate books sold together. It feels like a college report, where the authors formed a group, agreed on the basic layout, handed out who would write each chapter, then everyone went off on their own, and when done simply pasted everything together.
The contents is quite complete, and it was worth skimming through it, and the questions at the end of each chapter are sometimes useful.
However, there are multiple errors, many parts seem like copy/paste of the AWS official documentation, about 1/4 of the chapters are ultra boring and fact naming, another 1/4 are long and very redundant. There is no overall cohesiveness to the book.

Overall, it was worth skimming through it, but I only stopped reading carefully after about half the book when I was falling asleep more than half the time I was reading.

Do keep in mind that it is already outdated, since the latest version was in 2019, and AWS has changed since then.

I would not recommend this study guide to anyone. It has numerous grammar mistakes and a few questions with inaccurate answers. Some of the content is already outdated and the text is incredibly repetitve. Entire sections are copy + pasted. I don't think a single editor read this book cover to cover prior to print.

Disclaimer: I achieved this certification but practice tests helped significantly more than this book.

It contains everything you would expect this kind of book to have. The sad part is that the book has been clearly rushed. It contains way too many typos and other that sort of mistakes. I've also notised that the books on this topic won't stay up to date that well.

As mentioned in several other reviews: this book has many typos and it is more like a compilation of different articles than a complete book. There are many repetitions of the material, and questions at the end of the chapter are often not in sync with the content. But it works as a good overview of AWS infrastructure in one place in a well-structured way, so I definitely can not give it only one star.

FYI - I have NOT taken any of the AWS exams yet.

Used this for a DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure college course, along with a few other texts. Easy to read and follow, especially for people who are not only new to AWS, but new to CI/CD in general (like me). The book itself is huge though, and there is repetition throughout.

I read it from start to finish, which resulted in a lot of repetition across chapters. Literally paragraphs copy/pasted from previous chapters. Ideal for focusing on chapters you need to brush up on, or be prepared to carefully skim over repetition you know without missing the bits you don't.

A good book to get you acquainted with AWS Development Services.
Great Summaries and Exam Essentials.
It contains links to the relevant AWS Whitepapers that will be helpful for the Developer Associate Exam or the Associate Exams in general, these links are extremely helpful, which is a bonus as
finding and navigating the appropriate Whitepapers can be a drag.

This book is a compelling source of information about many services of AWS. It is quite lengthy and there are lots of repetitions, especially when you know other books from the same series, but overall a really good read.

My problem with it is the varying quality of the articles, sometimes it feels like some glued together chapters from other books. Especially the questions of the test exams, which actually were one of my main reason for my purchase contain lots of mistakes. You can contact the support, they reply dutifully, but fail to help. Technical issues seem to be content issues and reporting them is just a pain.

I really wonder why it is so difficult to report the correct number of correct and wrong answered questions back to the app. The numbers inside of the app and the web portal appear to be random and this isn't the first book with this problems.

I read this book to prepare for the aws developer associate test and while the book has decent content to get an overview of the the different services it just did not work for me. The book was helpful as a foundation but I definitely had to take other courses to fully prepare for the aws test. Some of the concepts were a little hard to understand through reading personally.

At this point, I’m not really sure how relevant this book for future aws exams, aws changes frequently so maybe not the best book to read.
