Myth Agent

Ruttledge Rosenbaugh, a professor of science devoted to his students at Hensley University, has spent years learning from his mentor, whose mantra was that time travelers are constantly around and unnoticed. But nothing Ruttledge has ever heard or read on time travel prepares him for what he witnesses in his secret laboratory in 1910. After recuperating from the ordeal, he spends years trying to prove the existence of time travel, while a jealous rogue from his past lies in wait, hoping to debunk any time travel theory the professor develops—no matter the cost. Myth Agent is a time travel tale, woven of the fantastic, and interspersed with traces of historical fiction.

I was raised in small towns in Oregon, Washington, and Montana, and I am still a small town person at heart. After my husband of 43 years got out of the USMC, we settled in western Oregon. We have two grown children, and two wonderful granddaughters. Being part of this family is very important to us.

Recently I began listening to audio books on Audible, and found that this way I can "read" many more wonderful books than any other way, so I will be reviewing more audio books than anything else.

I've written Myth Agent because I always wanted to try to create a time travel novel. Now that's out, and I am working on the next book in the series!

Time traveling at random I'd a scary thing to consider and hard to study. This story unfolds in a school setting and of course over many years as the mystery is considered. Some very likeable characters share their plight and adventures.

Big Cliffhanger. Hated the circumstance of the ending.

Myth Agent is a well-written science fiction winner. The storyline remains coherent as the past, present, and future lives of the characters move through time. This is no easy feat for an author to accomplish. I promptly became invested in each character and their individual stories.

I like the mystery of time travel. It doesn't seem like it should be as simple as flicking a switch. MacFadden conveys the torturous and violent feel of being thrown from one time to another. From a claustrophobic’s point of view, it would be a nightmare to be subjected to this form of travel.

The details of each time period attest to the research the author put into making the story the best it could be. For a science fiction book, Myth Agent is remarkably believable. I hope a sequel is in the works, I'm not ready for the story to end.

I highly recommend Myth Agent to all lovers of the time-travel genre as well as general fiction.
