Dark & Brutal

The first book was dark but this book is much, MUCH darker. The assaults on Scarlett are vicious and by no means for everyone when it comes to reading the second part of this trilogy. There are some sweet parts at the beginning and hope at the end but the middle is brutal.

Derek may have rescued her but Scarlett is her own savior, even if she doesn't yet realize it. The tenderness and perseverance that Derek repeatedly shows her allows her to realize her needs. Now, there's only left how she will get what she needs and to heal.

WOW!! She's been kidnapped twice now; unfortunately, this 2ND event has sent her STRAIGHT over the edge==sent her straight to hell. This series, especially this book, contains DARK BDSM elements, & is intended for readers who happen to be over 18 years of age. This story will take you to the edge and perhaps over due to the darkness in it. This is part 2 in the trilogy. The characters are dynamic, strong and in some cases have you wanting to commit acts of violence. Scar and Derek’s story will have you questioning everything –there are twists and turns to the story going all the way to the very ending. Just saying, this book is not for the faint of heart. I cant wait to find out where Scar and Derek’s story ends up in the final book.

Keeps you coming back for more!!!

This is the second book in the Beauty and the Captor series. Please be sure to read Her Beast before reading this book and be prepared for a cliffhanger at the end because the series will come to a close in book three, Her Dom.

This book picks up where book one left off and Derek is now without Scarlett. Scarlett has been dropped into h*ll and she can't seem to find a way out. Derek will move heaven and earth to find her but will be be too late to save Scarlett? This is a great series so far and I'm looking forward to reading book three, Her Dom to find out what happens with Derek and Scarlett.

This is the second story in the series (or second part), you need to have read the first book before picking this one up! I cannot stress that enough!
That being said, the story was not at all what I expected. I thought this would be Derek and Scarlett navigating their new relationship and figuring out what works for them both. I also assumed with danger looming there would be a confrontation at some point.

With this book being only nine chapters long, over half of it takes place while Scarlett is in captivity after she's been taken from Derek. The first book featured the use of force, kidnapping and darker themes but all sexual acts were consensual. Not in this case. If torture or rape are strong triggers for you, you may want to avoid this story. We got a glimpse of the darkness in this world when Marcos got his hands on Scarlett in the last book, her captors this time are much worse. There is also a twist I felt I should have expected but didn't.

I think the next book will be more of the dark romance I was expecting. I hope at some point the author publishes all three stories in this series as a joint collection because it feels more like this should have been the middle of the book, there's too much darkness and not enough romance to stand solo.

This book has so many unexpected things, I was quite surprised and anxious to see what was going to happen next. This book is dark and has strong elements. I strongly recommend reading this series in order to have full background information. I look forward to reading what happens next.

HOLY HELL!!!
First I'd warn anyone who doesn't know just how horrible some human demons can be should not read this book. If you're looking for hard hitting, fast paced, action packed, depravity, deception and down right hatred of anything innocent. Then this will crank your tractor. Kidnapped then kidnapped again. How much hell can one person stand. Only the strong survive. The characters and scenes were so realistic and graphically detailed that it comes to life before your eyes and in no way one you'd want to live this one. So now on the run with one kidnapper from another. At least this has a little soul left. I think. I don't know what Nicole used as inspiration but this had to take a on her soul as she wrote this tale of horrors. Well wrriten read that takes you on a path made solely for hell. You have abuse in every form. A person has to reach deep to find some good out of everything they went through at the hands of satan himself.

I will be honest here. I read HER BEAST, the first book in this Nicole Casey trilogy, skipped this book (book two HER SAVIOR) then read the third book, HER DOM, before coming back to read this one. HER BEAST sets up the dark, twisted tale of BDSM and the sex slave industry. With my stomach in knots, I had to read HER DOM to make sure of the HEA ending before reading book two. And while the subject matter is not a genre I like to read, the reviews swayed me to give this series of chance. It is a very well-written story with great characterizations of Scarlett and Derek. I hated Derek in the beginning but found his redeeming qualities and humanity before the first book ended. HER SAVIOR is about the journey into darkness and the search for the light and hope of love. This series is worth the time to read. While the subject matter is very dark, Nicole Casey finds a way to skirt the darkest hell and expose the reader to it in dark shades of gray instead of inky black.

I wanted to like this book given that the last book ended on a bit of a high note but the violence towards Scar was unimaginable. What was it about her that made them treat her so poorly? The fact that she was even born? I'm not sure how she will recover from the constant mental and physical abuse. To think this happens in real life just sickens me. Yes, I gave it four stars because the author did an excellent job of writing the book. It's just the subject matter. I hadn't expected quite the violence that the book depicted. It's not a slam on the author. She is definitely a great storyteller. I just hope the next book deals with caring and not more damage.

Oh my hat! A real roller coaster of emotions with this second book...
Scarlett & Derek's dark romance story continues, the outline of which has been well covered in previous reviews, it was hectic but a page turner. Never read anything quite like this before, it took me to places hard to imagine but underlying the entire thread was the love & protection of the savior for his submissive, who needed him to complete her. Raw but incredibly well written. The violence didn't bother me, the violation was sickening but her will was still not completely broken although her body would take time to heal. I hope there's a sequel Nicole Casey! I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

I couldn't stop reading and read right through this book so fast that when I hit the end, I couldn't believe that it was over. A lot of Scarlett's life now is very confusing to her, but not the way Derek makes her feel when they're intimate. She's still not thinking clearly but time with Derek is helping her get a little better each day as they run from the unknown people chasing them. But they can't run forever, and soon, she'll wish all she had to worry about was whether or not she had Stockholm Syndrome. Because you care about Scarlett (and Derek) his one gets rough to read but it's good and it takes a huge turn that sets book three up for a big finish.

This is my honest and voluntary review for this ARC.

Scarlett and Derek are on the run, after escaping the bad that started their beginning. Things have changed, and some of those changes are not really liked or wanted. Scarlett likes the interaction she has learned from Derek. Confusion and lust are very good combinations between these two. Their chemistry hasn't decreased, in fact it has only sparked it brighter.

Being on the run, however, is not something Derek is used to, he also isn't used to caring as much as he does. He sees the battle, he tries to help with that struggle but both of them realize somethings are okay to be left as is. Just when things really seem to be even and okay, the worst thing to imagine happens. Derek needs help with this one, and the one person he has to turn to is the one that caused the hate in Derek in the first place. When there is no choice and you need to rescue what is yours, you will do anything.

Derek realizes when making the pact with this man that he was trading his previous controlled by someone else of a life, to being under this man's control for his life. It doesn't matter Derek will do whatever he can at this moment. But there is a lot of things that happen. Scarlett is facing very horrible things, and it will be a big surprise to find out who is actually behind this. Derek is also thrown by this, but they are back together now. Not without the damage and scars, both external and internal. Derek is no longer running, he is not going anywhere.

Just when the darkest hour arrives there seems to be a beacon of hope, a slight one, but it is there. This is how Scarlett and Derek go leading us into the next book.

As this book is Steaming Hot! We continue the story of Derek and Scar.   Scar is now in love with Derek and he has feelings for her that he never even imagined that he could have.  She is no longer a slave  and is enjoying their 'interactions' together.  However, they are now on the run as the one who wanted her as a slave is now after them both.  Soon she is kidnapped once again but she is now in a living HELL.  Derek does not know how he can help her on his own so he turns to James. But what kind of deal is he going to have to make with James to get help?  Will Derek be able to save Scar before too late? I confess that I really don't like reading series [unless in one go] but this story by Nicole Casey has me sitting on the edge of my seat!  She uses all her skills as an author with powerful language, a fantastic storyline and amazing characters as Derek and Scar who are so believable and keep me drawn to the story.  There is a cliffhanger at the end of this but book 3 is on it's way soon - thank goodness!!!!!!

What a cliffhanger! This dark and suspenseful romance was astoundingly good! Murder, mystery, danger, darkness, slavery, sex trafficking, suspense, kidnapping, passion and sex, sex—did I say SEX that is off-the-chart hot, and intrigue that makes it very interesting and compelling to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story that will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. Nicole Casey manages to weave grippingly dark and twisted plots with artfully developed main characters. Nicole did it with this dark romance by effortlessly transporting me to the turbulent and violent life of Scarlett (Scar) and Derek. On the run and trying to protect Scar from her past, which he was to blame, Scar’s trouble/past catches up to them and it becomes bloody and vicious and enemies lurking and waiting for a chance to strike and exploit any weakness. There are several surprises and plot twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. This twisted, steamy and disturbing dark romance with gripping details, deep and troubled characters, and suspenseful story will have you on the edge of your seat. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next with lots of romance while the strong charismatic characters draw readers in and refuse to let go. You will love this book, and it will draw you in from the beginning to the end. Can’t wait to read the next book.

There parts = one novel that every parent of a daughter should read.
This is the se condof a three-book dark romance series (first and second books come with cliffs) that made me cry, made me sick, kept me up, and compelled me to keep reading. That being said, I could kiss Nicole Casey for making sex trafficking a literary REALITY - no sugar coating. First, I love the way that author Nicole Casey build’s her characters by placing the reader within the “normal” life and mind of the characters, and then lets the reader discover nuances of thought, the re-evaluation of ideas or plans from the character’s past or the additional attributes of the character revealed by the action and events within the plot. While my heart broke into a million pieces for Scarlett (Skar) and moved from rage to acceptance towards Derek, I couldn’t help but wonder at the strength of the human spirit to acclimate to the most degrading, painful and mind-numbing existence and not just endure to survive it, but to stand strong and then come back from it. For me, that strength of spirit is what Nicole Casey wants her readers to understand and perhaps even reach toward. I had to give all three novellas a 5-star rating because of their message, but readers be advised; the writing is great, the characters rich, and the plot gripping. BUY THIS ONE!

Emotional, Gripping Read with every page.

This fantastic trilogy is turning out to be the best read of the year. I only wish I could give it more than the 5 stars allowed as it is such an intense, emotional, gripping page turner. Nicole Casey has really earned all her great reviews with Scarlett and Derek’s awesome story. Is Scarlett still his obedient girl now that she is not his slave now, and how does she feel about that? Scarlett thinks her normal is being spanked and whipped, is it though? Derek the man now has her heart! Who would avenge Marcos’ death? Can Derek put her pieces back together, now that they are being hunted everywhere, as there is so much at risk? Scarlett Kidnapped again whilst they are on the run, Derek has no choice but ask for James Donovan help, is this a good idea? James deal will not go down well, as now he has Derek also, His penance, Scarlett’s life for his loss! Could Scarlett endure whilst hoping to be saved? Hell is not her Master, but her Monster! A dark intriguing read. I had tears in my eyes for these two dark emotional characters. What an outstanding, remarkable transcendental writer Nicole has become. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

Can't wait for the next book

Boy oh boy is this book dark and brilliant. The second book in the "Beauty and the captor series" continues the story of Derek and Scarlett.

Where in the first book I was simply happy about them finding and feeling love, now i'm just hoping they'll make it, individually and together, despite everything they're going through. I was angry and I cried a lot (and not ashamed to say so), which speaks volumes. To bring characters to life like that, up to the point where you're ready to go in yourself to help, is a gift. Scarlett is taken besides Derek's best efforts to keep her safe. And let me tell you, the more you read and the more you find out about the who and why, you'll find yourself going up the walls. IT'S JUST THIS GOOD.

Just know that this book will leave you wanting more and more. You won't be able to put it down. And even though it'll leave you an emotional wreck, you'll love every single page of it. Enjoy...

This book takes us to places darker and more brutal than the first book did. I was taken to some of the same places in this book as I was in Deep Into the Darkness by Lucy Wild. Unlike the first book of this series, there isn’t even the illusion of a relationship to ‘pretty up’ the acts Scarlett is forced to endure. There are elements in Her Savior that are more psychological thriller than any other genre. That means that some of the worst cruelty a man can inflict on a woman is highlighted within these pages. So, be warned that this is not subject matter for all audiences. There are scenes that will be triggering to some. I suspect I can see the threads of what the final book may look like, and I am very excited to see how it plays out.

This is sooo good but it is also very dark. It is amazing what Scar goes through and is still standing strong. It has some very dark turns in the second book. But yet it keeps you so drawn in. The writing is fantastic and so well developed. This is one that you just have to read. It is shorter but still just as good. Nicole Casey has you hooked from page one. Derek's character is well developed and shows a side he never showed before. We also get to learn a little more about him too. Which is a good thing because it helps us learn why things are the way they are. OH! There was one point in the story I just said to myself NO WAY. But yep it sure is a great twist for the book. This will not disappoint.

Now, after reading this, I just can´t wait for the last book, I wish I did not need to wait a single day!!!! This story is just so unf... unbelievable..... But beware, for the faint of heart it most certainly is not!!!! and if you read this one, you better have read book nbr 1 first, as that is an absolute must to read them in consecutive order. This one is just so exciting, it is full of all different kinds of suspence, of violence, of twisted love, of real love?, of pains and gains, of goodwill and what not. But me saying wow to this one and all that, is just my opinion, of course as always, it is just best if you judge after reading it yourself so enjoy...

The dark romance between Scarlett and Derek in Nicole Casey's 2nd installment of Beauty and the Captor series, Her Savior is hot and emotional then the previous one. I loved this book, we have seen Derek and Scarlett fall in love during their training session and her beast of the man turns into her savior. They both are in run to save each other and their love. Many things happen, the people who they trust betray them and the help comes from surprise source. But finally with all things get to an end, they move to the most happy of their lives and I'm waiting to read what is there in their charts in upcoming "Her Dom"

What to say? I can’t say I enjoyed it because the subject matter was more disturbing and more graphic than I expected. However, I couldn’t put it down. The hope that Derek would prevail kept me going. I’m a reader of thriller books and some of them get pretty detailed so I was able to wince, cringe and push through the violence poor Scarlett endured. I’m glad Nicole Casey took it as far as she did as it made the reader feel such heartache for Scar. Subject matter aside the book is a good story and I can’t wait to read the next book and see how Scar heals and finds herself again.

Continuation from Her Beast. Scarlett was trained to be a slave, she was sold and before her buyer came, Derek rescued her. Derek and Scarlett kept driving to get away so she can have freedom. Now there was talk about someone needed help to find the product. Scarlett and Derek was staying at a motel he had the alarm set for six am so they can get on the road early Derek thought he will have a shower then wake her up but when he came out she was gone now Derek was looking frantically for her he did not want her to become a slave again. There was a lot action, physical abuse, mental abuse, whipped, there was affection also. Will she get saved before it is too late or is it already too late?

The hot, dark suspense story continues. Derek and Scar are on the run, trying to keep ahead of the monster that wants to possess Scar. Their passion hotter than before. Scar is confused as to what Derk expects from her but knows she can't get enough of him. Danger surrounds them at every turn, will it catch them unaware and rip their world apart. The second installment evokes dark images and unrequited lust. Contains material that isn&'t for the faint of heart. Makes you hope that the next one will bring about the end to their nightmare. Looking forward to reading the third story in this series.

This is a fantastic story dealing with slavery and sex trading. Scarlett has been taken and sold into slavery...her kidnapper and captor to train her is a man named Derek. She;d known him growing up. In this story he;s killed her owner and taken Scarlett away. They;re on the run from Marcos;s regime. He drives for days hoping to put miles between them and the evil. On one such stop while he;s in the shower Scarlett is taken. At this point Derek is on a rage fueled drive to find her. He reaches out to her father and life becomes darker and more intense.
Fantastic story but have kleenex handy!

4.5 Stars!

This one really needs to come with a huge warning label for triggers. I honestly had a difficult time reading this book at certain points. It was gut wrenching to read what was happening to Scarlett.
There was a twist in the story that I didn’t see coming, but in hindsight maybe I should have. The first page(s) in this book had me nervous to see what would happen.
How will Scarlett be able to move forward? Will Derek be the man she needs him to be? I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Deeply dark, intense and an abundance of horrors, this book is not for the faint of heart. As Scar and Derek's story continues it delves even deeper into the darkness. It features graphic content that could be triggers for some and just objectionable to others. (Rape, abuse, torture, and heavy BDSM) So be aware and if you are in doubt you should give this book a pass. What Scar is put through intense and unimaginable. This book will put your emotions and heart through a ringer. This book does end on a cliffhanger in preparation of the final book. I'm posting a honest, voluntary review.
