Rate this book
This book is a vehicle to help you unlock your creative, expressive potential through dance. Told from a personal story angle, in Jess's authentic and often humorous voice, each chapter touches on a theme to explore (from physical and energetic parts of you, to embodying concepts like freedom in your body). Each chapter ends with a "dance prompt" - a guided suggestion for a specific way you can dance alone in your room, to help awaken that chapter's theme.

BEST PART? It comes with a FREE digital companion, which will help you really bring the book to life. Using the link given to you in the book, you can access this digital companion, called "Dance Alone, Together" and receive email nudges to dance, a playlist, bonus writing prompts and song suggestions for each chapter, and an online community where you can connect with others on the journey.

FROM THE BACK
Have you been feeling creatively stagnant or distanced from dance? Meet your new rectangular dance partner. A whisper from the creative muses. “The Artist's Way” in dance form. A calling to get back to dance and get back to YOU. Because starting to dance - again or for the first time - is often easier said than done. (Cue the intimidation, body image issues, time constraints, etc.) But dancing regularly is a proven source of happiness and healing, and for many it’s a way to revive a lost part of our souls. This book is meant to be danced with, alone in your room to start, with a series of inspiring stories and directive prompts that you can do anytime. No more need for excuses or endlessly searching for the perfect class… make your bedroom your dance studio and DANCE WITH THIS BOOK.

Side effects may making more space for yourself, reconnecting to your body, boosting your creative energy, releasing stress and stuck emotions, and feeling less alone. No leotards or expensive leggings required.

Magical and brilliant

I loved everything about this book, I loved the journalling and dance prompts, and I loved the confidence that unfolded within me. I loved being apart of the pilot group Dance Alone Together, where we l shared dance videos with one another. It was fun to be scared of something, but feeling so great that I accomplished something new. I love to dance and always have, this book was a great reminder of that love, and it helped re-kindle something within that was once lost.
Thank you Jess!
I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to connect with their dance rebel.
