The ability to connect with an audience is an essential element of public speaking. While an effective presentation can have all the elements of good pace, pitch and body language, it can still leave an audience unaffected or unmoved. Rob Parson believes even the most proficient speakers can enhance their public speaking by focusing on the heart of connection.
For the first time, Rob Parsons shares his insights from over fifty years of experience. He unpacks methods that will help any public speaker - from how to prepare well and utilise the power of story, to giving top tips on avoiding common distractions. Readers will come away with a better grasp on public speaking - not only how to speak to the head, but to the heart.
Having spoken to over a million people around the world, from multinational organisations to church congregations, Rob has fine-tuned approaches that can help anyone wanting to grow in this area.
Rob Parsons OBE is an international speaker on family issues and the author of many best-sellers including The Heart of Success and The 60-Minute Father. Over half a million people have attended his live seminars.
He is the founding chairman of Care for the Family.
Rob Parsons delivers talks across the world and in this short book gives some top tips on communicating with an audience. Using his story telling to communicate his messages makes this an enjoyable book as well as a good personal development book.
This was my first book of 2021. I have read many of Rob Parson’s books over the years. this one was highlighted at last year’s Spring Harvest and I received it as Christmas present (the Amazon wish list is great). Having spent the bulk of my professional life seeking to communicate effectively, I remain convinced of the importance of being teachable. “The Heart of Communication” is short and very easy to read but it has given me lots to think about and lots of ideas to reflect on. I suspect some may even end up up in some of my own work.
