The dreams of every high school To have beautiful women fighting over him. The nightmare of every high school Beautiful women trying to kill him? Yuya Kamigasaki is a normal female-form-loving high school boy, until the day that two beautiful princesses come to his world to tell him he’s the hero of theirs. The trouble? Those princess are on opposite sides, and one is doing everything in her power to keep the other from “reincarnating” him by force!
Yuya Kamigasaki is living the life any high-school boy would dream he’s got a house to himself, classes he can sleep through, and a childhood friend next door who grew into a total babe. But when an otherworldly princess with looks to die for shows up in his room and asks him to become the hero that will save her people, how can a guy refuse? That is, until he realizes she’s asked him to get reincarnated, and plans to send him through the great cycle of death and rebirth herself!
This isekai manga flips expectations into comedic effect.
The main character has the ability to be a "Hero" if he reincarnates into the parallel world whose princess invites him to help her defeat the demon king of her world. The big problem is he has to die and the princess is not above murder to make it happen. His only hope of not being killed lies in the protection offered by the demon king's daughter, who doesn't need another hero to upset the balance of power of the parallel world.
In this manga, the roles are reversed, and the setting isn't even in the other world, but in the regular world. Can this story still be called an isekai? Whatever it is, it is definitely funny, and breaking the isekai mold makes it standout from the dime a dozen similar stories.
An interesting twist on this kind of manga, though I am not sure if I would call it an isekai since no one is getting truly isekaied (well, unless that faction gets her way). But it is interesting and it definitely flips around the good/bad sides and I loved that. Fun that our MC is a hero and that one faction wants him reincarnated... the other does not. Loved learning about the other world and seeing more characters from it. I am curious if our MC can stay alive (that cliffhanger) and if he can still enjoy a life despite all the danger. I love that he is awakening his skill, quite curious what that will mean for everything. His childhood friend was mostly just annoying, I am sorry, she was just frustrating me at points. The art was OK-ish, though some body/face proportions were very weird. Especially the bodies of the girls with bigger boobs just seemed off. I will keep on reading, especially now with that cliffhanger.
Have to say it's not exactly what I expected from the title. I thought it would be a protagonist actively trying to die to be reincarnated, but turns out its about 2 sides from the other world fighting over his reincarnation. The hero side is actively trying to kill him to bring him over, while the demon side is protecting him from his death on Earth. It's pretty funny and has potential. We'll see how it goes in the next volume or two.
Before anything else I have a warning that this book is not shy to expose the female body though nothing is really defined from what I can see thanks to coverage of bras, towels, and any assortment of conveniently timed objects so if you are offended by a main character who does not mind watching his childhood friend pulling a shirt over her plentiful breasts or playful breast groping at school by classmates then this series will probably not appeal to you. With the extreme fan-service warning out of the way on to the story.
Yuya Kamigasaki is about to have a life changing moment whether he wants it or not. It turns out within this average if not a bit lecherous young man is the soul of a powerful hero so when blonde and buxom princess Ange (that's short for her full name) appears in his room and asks him to save her world from the Demon King's forces he is not adverse to helping however he can...except it turns out to get to her world and unleash his heroic soul he must first die and be reincarnated which he is far less keen on doing. Luckily the daughter of the Demon King has also come to Earth with an assortment of Ace class monsters (imagine boss level mobs in games) to protect Yuya so he cannot be reborn and fight her father. It will be a battle between the forces of good and evil but which is which and in the end in a story about a hero trying not to be sucked into another world. :)
Well, this is highly disturbing yet oddly fascinating...
Good(?) Princess wants to murder the lad, so he can reincarnate in her world. Evil(?) Princess wants to protect his life & brought tough friends. This could be messy. And those last couple pages, I think the boy got the "point" (whah whah) LOL. So this is certainly a different take on the whole "another world" genre. It's Isekai, yet it's not. Cute girls, to be sure. That neighbor girl, holy cow, look at dem melons! Yowzah!
Much more of a fun book than you'd think. Rather pervy teen is destined to be the hero in another realm, and both the heroine and demon queen come to this world to help or hinder. But think about how exactly you get reincarnated in the first place, and you see the teen's dilemma. It's a single twist but a fun one, and the little side jokes are fun too. Worth a peek if you are a fan of The Devil is a Part-Timer.
A novel take on a genre that's very tired (character dies and is reincarnated into a fantasy world). Should have read the blurb re: the boobs though, this is definitely aimed at a specific type of teen boy.
The typical setup with the another world turned upside down with the princess coming over to introduce the male protagonist by Murdering him to go into the magical realm
The main character is a normal boy, too confident to be Japanese but its ok. Suddenly show abilities that he never talk about before but I can said anything more until I complete the volume 2
It has an interesting twist to it. Gives you mixed feelings about the characters. Even the monsters are likable. Let's see what the next volume has in store for us.
The reverse isekai where the fantasy world our ‘hero’ is destined to be reborn into showing up in current Japan looking for him was a nice twist on the formula.
For a reincarnation/hero story this one has a very unique style! So far I love the character designs and the story, will definitely be continuing this one!
Most isekai focus on the reincarnation part, this opts to try and stop that completely. Taking place in the real world where a princess has come to kill our protagonist, so that he can be reincarnated as the hero of her world. So he’s trying to avoid death, low and behold though he has the villains from their world to protect him.
It’s enjoyable, I appreciate they tried to change up the formula. There wasn’t much flavor for me, it was more about introducing everything. First you get the princess and her spiel, then the villains and then the school so it doesn’t really give room for you to get to knew each character.
Not sure if all the components here work together as well as expected by the creators. At first it comes off as a standard reverse isekai, but with a rather LARGE twist. However, the comedic elements actually kind of out shine that a bit make the impact a bit flat. It wasn't bad, but I'll give it average now for the competting elements, and hope things get ironed out in volume 2.
