The last thing Elena Curtis expected to do while on assignment to cover the year’s largest winter storm was to meet and crush on Nikolay Kozlov. He’s stubborn, abrasive, and used to being in charge. His gruff personality should be enough to keep her away, but there’s something about him that draws her to him like chaser to a category five hurricane.
Brittney has been an avid reader since she can remember. Her parents' form of punishment for her growing up was taking away her books and making her go outside to play. She was born and raised in Southern California, with a brief hiatus in Arizona. She loves the beach, exercising, sleeping in, and cookies. She is an obsessive dog lover, although her affection currently has no outlet. Something that she is planning on remedying soon. She and her husband currently reside in the Rocky Mountains exploring and hiking as much as possible.
Elena is best friends with, Lucy who is back together with, Colin from, the Utah Fury Hockey team. Which all came together in, Mexico when Elena and Lucy, were there for, a friend’s bachelorette week. Not only that, she had become great friends with, the Pride women, and their men, on that trip. So, when she heard about a job opening, for a weatherperson in, Salt Lake City she put in her app.
When, Elena interviews for the position, there is a get-together at one of, the Pride’s homes. Elena was invited, and it was there that she sees, Nikolay. But, he just nods at her when introduced, to her. There was another time, and this time she felt like he didn’t have the time, to barely spare her, a glance. Nikolay gives her, a clear indication that he is not interested, so she has gotten the hint, and she decides, he no longer exists in her world.
However, this makes life awkward, when she gets the job at, the TV station across the street from, the hockey ice rink. So, when she lets, Lucy know she will be there, in a week. Asking if, she can shake a tree for, an apartment. Lucy calls looking, and, finding one right across from both, the rink and, the TV station. Right on the same floor as, Nikolay, he is apartment one, she is number four. Now, he is running hot, and, cold.
But, there is more bubbling under the surface, when it comes, to Nikolay. He has never been one, to take things easy, and fun. Everything has always been cutthroat, in his world of hockey, before coming, to the Fury. So, this team with its family atmosphere, and with its built-in bratty sisters called, the Pride, whom Nikolay loves, but he finds he loves them, too. When things go sideways back home, and, Nikolay finds himself overwhelmed. It is, Elena with her take-charge attitude shows, Nikolay the way.
This was a good story of, how there is strength in numbers, and with networking, you can make anything happen.
It needed a bit more editing and that was distracting I loved this story of Elana and Nikolay a member of the Utah Fury Hockey team. Elana is a trained meteorologist who works as a weather person in LA, however she is treated like a bimbo and not respected by her boss. When she covers a record storm in Salt Lake City she stops in to see her friend Lucy who she was in a wedding with and all her friends that she met on a bachelorette trip in Cancun, Mexico. She also interviews for a job at the local TV station where they don't require her to wear short tight dresses and dye her hair blonde.
I just love every single character in these books! Chloe is always my favorite dynamo, but I am so in love with the team and the Pride! They are tighter, more loving, and more dependable than biological families. I know, they're fiction, but still impressive. Elena and her grumpy Russian Nikolay made such a fun, interesting story. I look forward to reading more about them in the next books.
This is a outstanding little love story with emotional and heartwarming moments as these these two amazing characters journey towards their unconditional love story.
I really enjoyed this. Original storyline that tugged at the heart and it was just really really sweet. It’s not steamy but I didn’t even really realize until I was writing this review.
These stories are so sweet. It’s hilarious how they’re piling up in the timeline, and funnier that the characters have some awareness of how blissful all their lives have become.
Most of the book was a light hearted story but it got a lot deeper and serious in the last 25%. This book actually had me in tears it was so touching and just thinking of all the emotions involved. I hadn’t cared for Nik in the other book but he ended up being one of my favorite characters in the series so far. And wow, the skating on the lake scene was incredible. I can’t even imagine someone being able to do what he did to save Elena. He is a big time hero in my book! Only down side was the grammatical errors and some facts were off from other books in this series like who Grant was actually dating. Since I just read Grant’s story right before this I noticed every time it used the wrong names. Anyway, I would still give this 5 stars. Rating: G/PG
This is a fairly simple and straightforward relationship development romance. Apparently the 8th in a series, but I haven't read any of the others, so it's my 1st. It was just what I was in the mood for so I enjoyed it.
The emphasis on the team as family & esp the Pride started to get a little redundant - I liked the concept, but it was funner to watch them in motion than to be told multiple times. Which made me appreciate Nikolay's aversion to them more, lol.
Afraid to loose his goals focused on Hockey and his family in Russia . A. Story of two independent people's discovery of be coming a team didn't make you loose focus but together they could accomplish the impossible. I truly enjoyed the dynamic of the two people trusting in the team family to accomplish miracles
I truly loved this story line. The story between Elena and Nicolai is lovely but I am hoping there will be more of them moving forward. I just don’t think their story is complete enough for me. But it truly is an awesome read!
