Psychic Consignment Mystery #3

Another Woman's Treasure

Rate this book
The psychic powers of the Concordia sisters are increasing, but so is the body count...

(You'd think this was Cabot Cove or Midsomer instead of Sarasota, FL.)

Amanda and her sisters are on the hunt for a treasure buried by their godmother, Letty.

A moody ghost, their quirky fellow shop owners, and an overworked police detective all play a part in them unraveling the mysteries of Letty's life and untimely death.

But can Amanda keep her family safe as they barrel, like a bull in a consignment shop, toward a showdown with the person responsible for Letty’s murder?

Picking up shortly after the conclusion of previous book, Another Woman’s Treasure wraps up the Concordia sisters’ look into what happened to their godmother, Aunt Letty. Although the story is shared via all three sister’s POVs, this one is primarily focused on Amanda who finds romance with Detective Tom. She also gains new aspects of her powers.

One of my favorite things about this cozy mystery series set in Sarasota, FL, is that the characters are all “real,” in that they aren’t perfect. They get overwhelmed, they have tempers, and they get frustrated. Sometimes they want to be left alone. They can be rude to the point of shocking. But in the end, they realize that they love one another and want to be together. Another Woman’s Treasure highlights the importance of family and how far the sisters have come since arriving at One Woman’s Junk.

The sisters continue to search for answers regarding Aunt Letty’s death. They have been uncovering clues, but they don’t know how to tie them all together. However, as some of the primary suspects die, the sisters begin to worry they’ll never find out the truth. It is a pretty good mystery and storyline, although it did get a little convoluted at one point. The author does tie in all the loose ends, making it clear what happened and why.

Additionally, the sisters’ powers continue to evolve and grow. I’m still a bit baffled as to why Bea’s power of talking with inanimate objects now belongs to everyone (or how it can even happen), but that none of the other powers are jointly shared. The women also learn more about their own past and what brought them together. I love how they continue to struggle with their relationship, yet are determined to make it work.

Narration: The story is shared via all three sister’s third-person POVs. The narrator remains the same for all POV’s: calm, feminine, and slightly on the deeper side. Ms. Marlo alters all dialogue appropriately for gender and age, even giving the Scottish Sea Monster a slight brogue. Each sister has a unique voice, as do the supporting characters and voices of the inanimate objects. Overall, Ms. Marlo makes the story easy to listen to.

While the Letty story was wrapped up, there are still some outstanding issues that need to be resolved. This series is entertaining and I look forward to see what comes next for the Concordia sisters.

My Ratings:
Story: B
Narration: B+

The Concordia sisters solve the mystery of their godmother's murder along with some other mysterious events. Sadly this seems to wrap up the series, even though there are some issues to be resolved with Winnie and Jim. The sisters finally put their powers together and bond to find the answers that they need to move on with their lives. Quirky seems less unusual with this third book; reading the series closely together it's funny how the reader accepts what the author reveals. These are likable characters, esp. Nutmeg, Pim and Angus. Fans of cozy mysteries with a little idiosyncrasy will enjoy this book which should be read after the preceding two in the series. It would be fun to revisit this family in another book, but it did have a satisfying denouement.

What a delightful adventure. So much happens in this one consignment shop that it makes me want to have one. Rupert, the ghost is a great assistant to Amanda. The sisters come together to become even more powerful. such a show of love. It is just a marvelous story. The editing is perfect. Not a typo to be seen. It is amazing how the characters interact and the reader almost has it figured out but then something interferes. Right up to the end before the mystery gets solved. I would love to see another book in this series where things calm down and we see another side to the sisters. What happened to Jim? Love JB Lynn. Start with Book #1 or you will be lost.

Loved this book! This is an engaging story that I thoroughly enjoyed. In this book, Amanda seems to keep finding bodies, which leads to lots of time with her favorite detective. We also learn what finally happened to Letty and why it happened. I was surprised by the ending and the secrets revealed, but loved the way the book concluded.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While it is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, it's so good that you really owe to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

“Guzunder!” Lol. That was cute! It’s really cool that Amanda can understand Nutmeg now. I wonder if she will be able to understand all animals.
I also like that the relationship between Tom and Amanda is growing and that he believes in the sisters abilities.
So now that all the mysteries have been solved and all questions have been answered (I had the feeling Greta or Matt were involved), what will be in the 4th and final book of this series?? I’m going to find out, hopefully today. Next book is Something Old, Something New. Oh, based on the title maybe there will be a wedding? :-D

Wow! We finally learn what Letty hid as well as some deep secrets along the way! So much fun to read this last book in the series. Gruesome at times with the abundance of crime, but balanced well with bright spots and warm family discoveries. I loved the new finds by a couple pickers, and Angus probably agrees with me!
Delightful ending to a well written, enjoyable trilogy that mixes just enough "woo-woo" and mystery. Definitely a series I will read again!

The best of the three

This book was so good and so many things get answered. It is also fast pasted and a lot of what you thought you knew mayor may not be true. The wS such a wonderful trilogy but it still leaves me wanting more of the three sisters. I hope there are enough other people who want the same thing that the author will write another book to continue the story.

Another enjoyable book!

This is the third book detailing the lives of the Concordia sisters and a wonderful read it was! Quite a few mysteries were solved, the sisters are bonded more now than ever, and a new journey has begun. The first 3 books were very good and I can’t wait to read the next book.

I love this series! I feel like I am a part of this world. The Concordia sisters are bonding and growing closer every day. The closer they get to unraveling the secrets that surround their godmother’s death the stronger their powers become. This is a feel good story.

A really excellent series so far. The characters have developed and become more real and interesting, the story has progressed and the overall mystery of who killed their godmother has been solved. Very enjoyable read.

Good series

A complicated story so well written you never realize how involved the tale gets. Introduced a little at a time, the story is like a tea that steeps and releases flavor.

Great Mystery

Ok, seems the sisters' little consignment shop in a strip mall is infested with criminals. I love it when a book has a lot going on. Again, another great ending. On to book 4.

I listened to the audiobook. Very good narration.

Well-written mystery and nicely formed characters. The paranormal aspect is strong but blended seamlessly. I took a star off because it was a little too neatly wrapped up. Even with psychics, there should be a couple loose threads.

great mystery and family drama

I did enjoy this book, but a little overboard on sisterly love. The drama and finding a buried treasure was fun to read.
