The first three novellas of the Moonshine Hollow series in a single book.
Moonshine and Murder:
Zoey Mathers had everything going for her until one night she lost her biggest client, her job, and her reputation. Leaving her life up to fate, Zoey closed her eyes and pointed. She would serve out her career exile in the small mountain town of Moonshine Hollow where moonshine flowed as freely as a mountain stream.
Giving up the law to become a baker in Moonshine Hollow turned out to be the best thing Zoey had ever done. She was happy and enjoying life in her new small town. But Zoey should have learned the first time . . . one night can change your whole life.
After unknowingly crashing a battle between witches, Zoey accidentally becomes a witch herself. That’s all before Zoey stumbles over a murder victim and the town’s sheriff becomes involved. Now she’s trying to find a murderer, stop two old witches from playing matchmaker, and learning she’s way more than a mere accidental witch.
And that’s all before fate turns up one more sexy hunk of a twist . . .
Moonshine and Malice:
What was an accidental witch to do when fate sends a sexy witch on a motorcycle, only to find out he might be there to kill her?
Zoey Mathers was adjusting to life as a witch— a real finger wiggling, magic casting, talk to spirits witch who was thrown into the middle of a war between good and evil. And now Slade, fate’s sexy twist, was asking her out on a date and talking about her part in an ancient prophecy.
It was up to Zoey to decide if she could trust Slade not to kill her. She also has to discover the reason for her particular powers. And then there’s that little thing about her possibly being the key to ending the War of the Witches. Ah, the quiet small town mountain life.
Now, if only she could only avoid losing her heart, and more importantly her life to Slade.
Moonshine and Mayhem:
Zoey Mathers was a witch. Not on purpose. It had happened accidentally. But as Zoey was finding out, maybe this had been her fate all along. Luckily the potential witch hunter, Slade, had turned out to be on her side and had found a place in her heart. With the War of the Witches heating up, it’s not just Zoey’s life on the line, but all the witches fighting for good.
But fate wasn’t done with Zoey yet. There was a reason she’d become a witch when others wouldn’t have. And that answer was going to change her life even more. Now Zoey was falling in love, fighting for good, and defending the sweet small town of Moonshine Hollow. All while the humans were completely unaware of a war around them. But that was nothing compared to the fight to end the war—the one the prophecy said was up to her. Only one witch was going to survive and she just hoped fate knew what she was doing because Zoey’s life was in the balance.

I love boxsets, I can keep reading as I need to, and everything is right there... Which is exactly what I needed with this because Zoey and Slade are way too much for one book, and so are the rest of the characters in Moonshine Hollow.
Starting with Moonshine & Murder, I thought it a fabulous way to start a series. This is definitely a case of taking lemons and making margaritas (why settle for lemonade?).
Zoey was on the fast track, then derailed faster than she could blink. What started out as a short term solution becomes so much more, and in typical Brooks’ fashion the reader wants to move to the town with the characters!
Be prepared for the unexpected and unexplainable, but as always, a wonderfully crafted story. I can’t wait to read the next book.
When you continue with Moonshine & Malice, I love the world of Moonshine Hollow that Kathleen Brooks has developed, and Zoey and Slade are two of my favorite characters, but to be fair at times the secondary characters steal the show.
In learning her powers, we learn about Zoey and the rest of the witches. We also learn what really makes up Slade.
There isn't much that can be said about the book without giving away spoilers, but if you love a great continuing paranormal romance, with mystery, magic and surprises along the way, this is the book and series for you!
And you finish with Moonshine & Mayhem, I wouldn't mind living in Moonshine Hollow... Okay, I love a good trilogy, especially one that plays out with secrets and mystery, magic and, of course, moonshine of both types ;). Seriously though, Zoey and Slade are such great characters, and the finale to the Moonshine Hollow Series (I want more) was well played out.
All of the questions that arose throughout the series were answered. Not everything was tied up with a shiny ribbon, but I'm good with that, that means that hopefully we get another visit.
Zoey finds out everything she needs to, and she finds out who and what she can be. Not only that, but the questions about Slade are finally answered, and boy those answers are a doozy!
This box set consists of three novellas: Moonshine & Murder, Moonshine & Malice, and Moonshine & Mayhem.
Each book was engaging and intriguing. The paranormal characters intermingled with the regular humans of Moonshine Hollow.
Zoey and Slade had great chemistry. Their banter was humorous and witty. I liked how Slade was so protective of Zoey from the very beginning.
The story is about hunters, witches, and the battle between good and evil. A small town full of quirky characters work together to overcome the evil trying to destroy the witches.
I found the narration to be entertaining and forgot that there was only one narrator for this book. Rating: 4.5 Stars.
There's so much here that I want to like. The town is whimsical, the secondary characters have potential. There's magic.
It started off interesting and got my attention quickly, but then it just kinda dragged on.
The characters are okay. They're just kinda there. Doing things. No real feelings, no insights. Just problem, then *WHAM*, here's a solution and on to the next thing.
I have no real issue with where the plot goes, but the journey is clinical and boring. Detached.
This is my first time reading her books but I'm sure it won't be the last. Good vs evil .. Witches .. I love stuff like this.. Just some laughs, some tears, and lots of good solid friendships which are rare these days...just read it .. Nice clean story.. No swearing or hot sex..and great HEA..refreshing
I actually really enjoyed these books. Moving through them was easy. At times a little hard to believe but then I remember that it is made up. The characters were good. I liked that I recognised some of them from different areas around the world. Putting this all into one tiny town in the middle of nowhere was inspired.
Each of these stories are enjoyable. They are quirky and fun. A great way to spend a day. Not my typical read, but I’m a big fan of this author and am glad I picked this set up. The characters are sweet and I can’t wait to read more.
The book captured my attention. I couldn't stop reading! The characters became family and I was busy rooting for them! I recommend this read for anyone who enjoys fantasy and good over evil.
I really enjoyed this series. The characters are believable and relatable. There's plenty of comedy, romance, and suspense. It was a fun read all around.
