New Orleans. That's the place where magic happens. But I’m not here to do magic. I need to keep a low profile. I'm here to find out more about my parents' life and check out their house, which I never knew existed. In my dad’s study, I discover a crucial piece of information. There’s a man out there who can identify me and sell me out to the Order. Will we be able to find and stop him before he puts the mission and all of us in grave danger? At the same time, I bump into one of those things Gran and Sam once warned me about regarding Nate’s life. Things that happened before he met me, which he hoped I would never come across. Well, we hope for a lot of things.
I look forward to these short story's and this 4th one is the best one so far as we are getting to know more about Nicky,Nate,Logan and Connie as they travel to New Orleans to check up on Nicky's family home. They discover that there is another Callahan out there and need to find out who he is and what his plan is towards Nicky. This story is unfolding with all the past secrets with plenty of action and twists that keep you glued to this short story with anticipation for the next book and what is going to happen.
This episode was my favorite one yet! It had quite a bit of drama (the funny kind), and intense action (the exciting kind), which I love. But, the best parts are when all the main characters interact with each other. There were a few surprises I didn't see coming, especially concerning Nicky. I'm excited to see how her character grows. I'm totally psyched for episode 5, to see where Ms. Melyan takes us next.
Wow! Just gets better and better. Nicky learns some new stuff after going to her parents house in New Orleans. Her life is in danger for real in this one. Can they stop it in time? Can't wait to see what happens next.
The 4th book in the series. This one had quite a few surprises with the entry of an unexpected character. Having read the series from the beginning, the author Lana Melyan quite evoked my curiosity with each book.
The story acted as an appetizer, increasing the intrigue factor. The author's writing was smooth. I liked how she showed a twist in the plot line along with the development of relationships.
Characters... Nicky was good, I liked how she was growing up to a good witch. I wanted her to be a bit more. Her powers were not shown well in this. I would want her to be more of a kick-ass, and not depend on the boyfriend to do the work.
Overall, this was a good read, which left me wanting more.
Another episode in the Weight of Magic Series and Lana Melyan again superbly blends a short story arc with a satisfying conclusion with character development and plot progression for the overriding story arc. A satisfying blend of romance and action for YA readers that will leave fans of the series impatient to read the next episode.
The family tree by Lana Melyan. An absolutely fantastic read. Loved the story and some of the characters. Love this series. Looking forward to the next book. 5*.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is Book (Episode) Four of The Weight of Magic series. This is a fast-paced, easy and short read, perfect for a quick jump into an exciting world of witches, high school, vampires, and danger. This novella series is an exciting ride with unexpected turns and twists; it's like a TV show in a book form. You're one click from starting your binge-read.

Things that happened before he met her, which he hoped she would never come across, well, we hope for a lot of things. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.
Nicky, Nate, Connie and Logan take a weekend trip to New Orleans to visit her parents’ home that she never knew existed. The spend some time with Brian and Sam discussing their strategy against The Order. There are quite a few ups and downs with Nicky and Nates relationship which shows itself to be the teenage drama that you would expect.
This also covers a number of the issues any normal teenager or young adult would go through such as first real love, jealousy and making rash decisions.
It’s great to see how Nicky is growing but she is still hiding behind her boyfriend a little and it would be great to see her come into her own a little more and be the kick-ass witch I am sure she can become!
Nikki and her friends are finally figuring things out. The magical journey is underway and Nikki is beginning to understand her role in things. When she finds a missing family link only to be betrayed by him, she understands she must make hard decisions in order to survive. With her friends and her Gran beside her, she can do no wrong. Like this book better than the last.
I'll have to try another series from this author now.
I started this series on June 14th and only just finished the series on June 16th. It a definite page turner since you really want to know what happens next. Which is why I didn't do a review when I finished the first book but after I finished the series.
I have one reservation these nine books could have been one book I am a fast reader but I have never got through four full books in one day. It feel like each book is a slightly longer chapter. Not sure why it was done this way but if I had paid the cost for each instead of part of my Kindle Unlimited Collection I would be rather upset.
The Family Tree: The Weight of Magic, Episode 4~~ I absolutely loved 💖💕💞💗 this book! Oh my gosh this series keeps getting better and better. A little romance, suspense and murder. I can't wait to read more of your series. I definitely recommend this series (episodes)!
Book four drives right in and things start to get real . Real quickly there's no turning back now one down twelve to go..... Can they manage to stay hidden from the order long enough? Can't wait for book five to find out what happens next.
The story of The Weight of Magic continues in this novella with Nicky, Connie, Nate and Logan travelling to New Orleans to check out Nicky's family home which she knew nothing about. They spend some time with Brian and Sam discussing strategy against The Order and Sam's attraction to Nicky is very evident, much to Nate's annoyance. On returning home with evidence that another Callahan may exist, Nicky and Nate must work together to preserve the relics left to her by her father. Again this is a pocket sized story packed with twists and the only complaint I have is that they're so short. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Fourth book in the Weight of Magic series and I feel like the story is starting to move on nicely. All the characters are growing within their magical powers and we are starting to find out more about their mission and what needs to be done.
Nicki and Nate’s relationship has its ups and downs and I feel that for me that’s the only stumbling block in these books as I feel like their teenage-ish behaviour and irrationality takes my focus away from the real story here.
This book has also taken the series to a darker level with the introduction of new characters and I am looking forward to finding out what more is in store for us.
Recap: Nicky discovers she's not the last Callahan.
Review: Book 4 races along - we've got a lover's tiff and a new threat but everything was also dealt with very quickly. The new threat was viciously quashed, I thought they were supposed to be the good guys! Less coffee, less Grandma and a lot more Nicky which isn't a bad thing, we're getting to know her better. I did feel sad when she went to her parents other house. I still feel like her best friend is going to betray her lol. I was a little disappointed that her developing magic was dealt with in one sentence, it would have been cool to see her try different spells. And now it seems they must go on a killing spree so... eep!

I received a copy of this book from TBC Reviewers request- Thank you Another cracking short read by Lana- her series seems to get better with every book added to it! This is the 4th book in the series and Lana has thrown a little bit of a curve ball in this book, as well as showing the development of the existing characters she has introduced a new ‘main’ character! A great read that I whizzed through in an hour- I’ll be looking out for the next book in the series Thank you
I am really enjoying this series and book 4 sees the pace increase as Connie turns 18 and they discover another Callahan.
I love the story that is unfolding as Nicky learns more about her family and past secrets whilst working on her skills to enable her to carry on what her Dad started.
A great series full of anticipation and I can't wait to read the next book!
Nicky's life just keeps getting more complicated. There are familiar characters, as well as new ones. The plot lines are strong and move along well. There is growth and maturity to the younger characters, which adds to the reading pleasure.
