Life can be unfair. Stephen Jones could easily account for that. Not long after accepting an offer for his Doctorate in Aerospace Engineering, an accident cripples him. Little choice is given and he must return to a home that has not felt as it has since his father’s passing. His future seems to fade to oblivion as he realizes what’s ahead.
Fate strikes when Herald Zumerkrin steps into Stephen’s life. His unknown godfather had been searching for him after Stephen and an object of great importance never arrived in his care. Stephen learns of his true birth parents and their actions that were to have placed him in Herald’s care. His own birthright had been denied as he grew up on Earth 700 years in the past.
The chance to return to his normal self and have his birthright restored, entrances Stephen. But as it seems his new life could come into fruition, he is unaware of the true importance the object has that was left for Herald, and the deadly consequences that would follow. Stephen must brave the future or fall to a far worse fate than what he chose to leave.

Chris Mills was born and raised in Van Wert, Ohio. He attended the University of Toledo where he majored in Communication Broadcast Management with a Minor in English Writing. He graduated in 2011 with honors.
He later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where he married his wife Sarah. They have three beautiful children together.
Since childhood, he has been writing consistently to develop a style and worlds to explore.
