Demetri was the first book in Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez’s Volkov Empire series. The series was a spinoff from their Kings of Retribution MC series.
We met Demetri in book one of the original series and I have loved him from day one. He was the head of the Volkov family, a Russian Mafia. He was totally alpha and knew how to get things done. He had been a big presence in the MC series so I was totally excited to get his story and an entirely new series.
Glory was introduced in book five, Unbreakable, as Grace’s best friend who was keeping her secrets safe. She ran into some trouble as part of Grace’s storyline and that’s where Dimitri and Glory met.
The authors kept us in the present, but made references to past events to fill in gaps for Dimitri and Glory. In Dimitri, they finally not only explored their chemistry but dove in with both feet. And true to form, the authors created a suspenseful plot as the two developed their relationship. The action and the plot were over the top, but I was in the mood for it, so it worked well for me. It was fairly predictable without too much drama, but all in all, it was a quick and fast paced read with good feels.
It set the stage for the series well so hopefully we’ll get Nikolai soon and I’d also love stories for Sasha and Victor.

Betraying body parts. While the heroine is not a shy little virgin and she was a ONS kinda girl and yes I liked that about her but her saying she needed to change her wet panties everytime she saw or thought about hero was stupid. I wish authors would stop writing this nonsense. No woman that I know gets wet meeting a man.
Hero talking trash about his ex wife. He said something about her being skinny, tall with dyed hair, excuse me, asshole. You married her when she looked that way and conceived a child with her. No one put a gun on your head to have sex with someone that wasn’t your type and to top it off you get her pregnant? I hate how bad OWs are portrayed every time in books. It’s lazy writing and easy way to cause drama between your MCs.

Demetri: The Volkov Empire was the story of Demetri and Glory. Both characters were introduced in The Kings of Retribution series, Demetri is the father of Logan and Glory is the best friend of Grace Jakes wife. I really enjoyed this one, the chemistry between Demetri and Glory was awesome. As with other stories in these series it was very predictable but I don't care because it works for me. I'm really hoping that the authors continue in this world and Nikolai, Victor and Sasha get books of their own.

Demetri and Glory's story was an enjoyable one and as I got further in the story, I discovered it was a tie in with the author's other series, The Kings of Retribution MC. Demetri Volkov is a powerful Russian crime boss who has two sons in the MC (Logan and Nikolai). His love interest is Glory Keller whose BFF is Grace! Grace is the wife of Jake, the MC Prez!

This is the first book in the Volkov Empire Series by Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez. I’ve been dying for Demetri’s story since I first read about him in Logan’s book. It was horrible what his father and ex-wife did to him that caused him to lose his first love. Glory was okay but she wasn’t my favorite and I definitely think Demetri deserves better than her. Hopefully we will get Nikolai’s story next.

I have waited for Demetri's story since was first introduced to Logan way back in Undaunted. So I did what any red blooded woman would do when given the chance to read about a hot domineering alpha man who happens to be the head of a Russian family would do. I savored it.. I took my sweet time and allowed the words of his and Glory's story to sink in.... I know I always recommend ALL of Sandy and Crystal's books so it should not come to a surprise that I really recommend this one as well.
Glory is a strong independent woman who is comfortable in her own skin, and lives life the way she wants and makes no qualms about it. I adore her smart mouth and her ability to never use a filter and speaks what is on her mind. This is what makes her such a unique sassy woman who was made just for the type of man that Demetri is. She has been through a horrific tragedy and has come out stronger for it. Demetri is a strong man who has wanted Glory since the first time he laid eyes on her. The both of them have fought their attraction towards one another for quite some time. When the two of them finally decide to give into their feelings their chemistry is HOT! We get to get caught up with some past characters, and get to meet a few new ones.
They have a few obstacles to overcome to get to their HEA. As you can imagine with him being the head of the Russian family he has just as many enemies as he does allies. People learn just what happens to them when they mess with what Demetri claims is his. When reading this you will go through a few emotions. You will cry when Glory opens up about everything that happened to her, you will laugh when her parents make their presence known, and you will be swooning with just how well Demetri takes care of his Krasivaya…...

Let’s get started well I gotta say I was super excited when I read she was going to write about the Russian bad boy hotties since I met them I have been wanting there story so glad they did it I loved Demetri and Glory they were so good explosive together glory gotta be my fave from all the girls I loved her personality everything about her she didn’t keep anything to herself she said what she was thinking and didn’t care what anybody said I just loved her you get to see more of the glory the real glory you will love her you just can’t hate her no matter what

Gaaaah I have been waiting on pins and needles for this book and I was STILL blown away by Demetri and Glory! Anyone who’s read Sandy & Crystal’s books from the beginning is well aware of the sexy and mysterious Demetri. We know him but we haven’t ever been so fully immersed in his world until now and hooomahgawd I was not prepared for how hot he is.
Aside from the epic hotness factor Demetri and Glory are like two magnets. As much as she tries to push him away she just ends up pulled closer and closer to him until those walls finally crumble. There’s a sweetness in the way he loves her that I can’t even begin to describe. And the emotions? Yeah, frequent blows to the feels right there.

It took me a minute to remember who Glory was and how she was connected to Demetri. Once I did, I knew things were going to be fun. I liked how Demetri pursued her. Could have looked over the top, yet anytime Glory said no, things were stopped and Demetri didn't assume certain things. Once Glory decided she was all in with Demetri, things really picked up. They were winging off to Russia, where the trip was cut short due to his business getting in the way and Glory being in potential danger. Turns out it wasn't potential at all. I was a bit shocked with who was behind things, but Demetri, along with the MC, were more than enough to take care of business. I liked how this one ended, nice to see Demetri and Glory happy and free to live their lives.

This was a long awaited story.. OK not so long it just seemed that way Anywho.... This was an Amazing book. The story was well written with engaging characters and we got to see our favorite Kings as well as a lot of new and interesting Russians. This first book of the new series has given us much to look forward to. Demetri and Glory were a phenomenal pairing. There love story was mature with none of the angst sometimes seen in younger couples. They communicated well and tried to respect each other views. She wasn't needy but she did need his strength to overcome here traumatic past and he was confident in who he is but did not squelch who she is. I enjoyed watching them grow to trust each other and build a solid foundation for themselves. This book is not to be missed and I now have to wait and anticipate the next installment from this talented author team. Well Done. I was given an advanced copy for my honest review.

Finally we get the Russians, we’ve heard so much from book 1 & this did not disappoint. We get Demetri, father to Logan book 1 & Glory, best friend to Grace book 5, come together. Their tale of love definitely took some time, with Glory’s past & Demetri not wanting to get close to her due to his enemies, they finally agreed & move forward & this is where their journey begins. I loved the connection between these two, they know what they want & how they want to live their lives together & they let nothing stop them. They are both very mature. And super hot together, Demetri is one sexy mob boss. Meeting all new characters gets me very excited to learn more from this new world these two ladies created. Writing was superb, can’t wait until the next!!

I didn’t think I could love this series any more but GOD do I love Demetri and Glory! Glory is such a little bad a** and Demetri knows exactly how to handle her which is so hot. Never mind just imaging his voice when he talks but everything about Demetri is so sexy I absolutely loved getting to know him in this book. Glory has been delt a crap hand in the last few years but she still stands with her head held high. She is one of my new favorite heroines! I’m so happy with the new Volkov Empire spin off, I can’t wait for Nikolai’s book! I’m also seriously hoping there’s a book for Victor! Not enough stars to give! Love love love!

10 freaking stars!!!! Long awaited and didn’t disappoint. Glory and Demetri’s story was amazing!! He was the perfect blend of caring, protective, alpha and hot!!! And Glory was strong after what she went through!!! I love that we see all our old characters too! The storyline is amazing it sucks you in right from the start. I like that we get to see the non MC side of the coin. The bratvia side. I really cannot wait for Nikolai’s story.

Great read, well developed characters with a great story line. This is the story of Demetri and Glory , we were introduced to them and finally get there story. This book was a page turner and kept me engaged to the end, take a chance and find out Demetri and Glory’s story .
I did receive this as an arc for an honest review, and cannot wait for the next one. This story can be read as a stand-alone, but read them all you will not be disappointed.

Demetri is officially my favorite mafia man. He’s sexy, dominant, successful, and commands respect. He doesn’t take sh*t from anyone. When a sassy, spitfire of a woman comes along, sparks fly. Demetri and Glory come together and help each other deal with past and present hurts. Well done, ladies!!

A good shorter book. This is the mafia part that is a spin off from the Kings of Retribution , the originals.
We met Demetri as he is Logans father that never knew about him. He is Russian Mafia. Every since Demetri met Glory he has watched over her. It's been two years and he is still keeping his distance but no more. By claiming her as his woman he has put a target on her back. All hell is going to break loose in this book.
Now to see what his other son is up to in the next book

I LOVED this book so much! I wasn’t sure going in because I saw a bad review but I decided to put that aside and read it since I’ve loved all the MC books from these authors.
I loved Demetri and Glory! They were both hard headed and stubborn but they were perfect for each other! I love how she was able to be completely be herself with him and how he knew what she was thinking when she was having doubts and worries and knew what to say to her.
I just loved it!

Not my favorite
Didn't like either character. Glory wast too abrasive like the other reader said. Too gruff and I just didn't like her. Got to 20% and quit. Ive never had an issue with these two authors. All the other MC books fabulous!

The creativity and mind-blowing writing of Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez have no limits. They keep fining refining their craft while creating the most amazing and relatable characters. Demetri, The Volkov Empire has every element that makes for a good Mafia book, and yet they managed to make it unique and believable.
I've been waiting to know what Demetri's story is since he was introduced in Undaunted (Kings of Retribution MC, #1). He has always been present, albeit in a minor role, in every installment of that series. So, getting to finally know him was a treat. He is a complete alpha, no-nonsense, mature hero who leads a Russian mafia empire with a firm hand. But we also see his soft side as a grandparent and as a man who would go to hell and back for the woman he is in love with. And let's face it: he has been completely enamored with Glory since they met in Unbreakable (Kings of Retribution MC #5).
Now, Glory deserves all the praise in this book. She is 100% sassy, funny, and kind. She doesn't let her past or social norms to define her. Glory is far from perfect, and yet, she is one of the most real heroines I've ever read. Also, she is in her late 30s. It might seem like a small detail, but it's refreshing to read about not so young characters.
Demetri and Glory's relationship was bound to happen, and the way Sandy and Crystal wrote their story just adds to their appeal. They filled in gaps, so there is no need to read The Kings of Retribution MC to understand how they met or what happened in the past (although you should read the series anyway because it's amazing!). And as always, it was so good to catch up with The Kings. They are such a wonderful bunch to be around with. Obviously, Quinn takes the prize and will always remain one of my favorite characters.
So if you haven't read these ladies or if you are hesitant about Sandy and Crystal branching out to the mafia world, do yourself a favor and read Demetri. You can thank me later!

I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.
I feel like I can't put into words how I felt about this book but I'll try! Demetri...phew! If you think these ladies have written alpha males before you haven't seen anything yet! They have completely outdone themselves with this book. This had everything I want in a book, love, friendship, angst, strength.
We first met Demetri way back with Logan and to be honest I wasn't sure what I felt about him until this book! He was so over the top over protective with glory...before they were even... TOGETHER!! I love how he had Sasha watching everything she was doing and even stepping back in some situations when he could have made a scene. We saw his funny side when he met Glory's mom which had me laughing out loud.
Glory...oh she had me in tears from the prologue!! She is so incredibly brave. She has protected Grace for so long when she finally broke down go tell Demetri and later the girls what happened to her oh my heart just broke. She was spending so long protecting others she just needed protecting as well. She's a fire cracker but also so vounerable.
What I love about these ladies is they don't always have to write about the MC, these books can branch off in so many different ways. I absolutely love reading these books. If you haven't read them start now! These books I will buy and love without even reading the description!

Demetri has ruled his Bratva family with a strong and steady hand but with little satisfaction. With the love of his life gone, he was married off in an alliance to another crime family. When the truth was revealed and he learned that he had another son in the US, he made some changes to his life. With that decision, his life and his world expanded to include his firstborn son and the MC he belonged to. I have been waiting for Demetri and Glory's story for ages and these ladies didn't disappoint! Demetri is pure sex on a stick and the power he wields makes him even more attractive. What puts him over the top is how he treats the people he cares for. Glory is amazing with her lack of filter. She is so strong and fierce, she is a gem of a character! I loved watching these two together and I would have loved to have had even more time with them. This sister duo have an amazing talent that grows with every book they release. I cannot wait for Demetri's second born son Nikolai to get his story!

Oh Demetri, I have been waiting for your story for what feels like forever! When we first met Demetri back in The Kings of Retribution Series, I knew his story would have me dropping everything and devouring it in 1 sitting.
Glory has been through hell, she protected her best friend and goddaughter which leads to her hiding a secret, feeling alone and everyday blurring into another. When Demetri makes his intentions known Glory sees the amazing man that he is; regardless of his Russian Underworld connection. When Demetri’s past comes and tries to destroy everything, he must use every resource he has to protect what is his and he has made it VERY clear that Glory is his.
I personally loved this story; I have enjoyed Glory from the beginning and now that we got to know Demetri and more of his story they are just perfect together; their chemistry is undeniable and their level of knowing each other is above and beyond.
The amazing duo have done it again; I cannot wait to read more from The Volkov Empire series.

Demetri's book has been a long anticipated one in the Kings of Retribution Story. We are first introduced to him in Undaunted, Logan's book, where it is revealed he is Logan's father and the Head of a Russian Mafia Family. Skip forward a few books and we are introduced to Glory in Unbreakable, Grace and Jake's story. Glory is Grace's best friend who has been helping her hide from her ex husband. For her efforts she takes a beating and more from Grace's ex to ensure Grace stays hidden.
From the first meeting of Demetri and Glory, their attraction to each other is undeniable, their chemistry is evident.
Now we are onto Demetri's book and OMG.. what a book. Demetri is the ultimate alpha Male and Glory is fully a sassy lippy woman who takes no prisoners. The chemisty between the two is off the charts. Through trials, incidences, and shots being fired this is a hot steamy novel that doesn't leave you wanting but it does leave you panting for more!! This book is so worth the read. It just adds to the whole series and leaves you wanting more.

I have been intrigued by Demetri and Nikolai Volkov since we first met them. This book dives into Demetri and gives us a glimpse into his world.
Demetri has some of Logan’s characteristics even though he didn’t raise him. Those alpha genes run deep in that family. Lol! Demetri isn’t afraid to show is feeling publicly or in private to Glory. In this book he is done giving Glory her space and stakes claim.
Glory we met when we got Logan and Grace’s story. We knew she was beaten by Grace’s ex but we didn’t know the full extent of her injuries until this book. Demetri had no idea the space he had given Glory for so long was needed for her recovery mentally.
We have suspense, drama and romance all rolled into this great book. It only leaves me wanting more from the Volkov family including Sasha, Viktor, Nikolai and more. I’m excited to see where this series leads!

Demetri has been infatuated with Glory from the day they met. The time was not right though to pursue her and after two years he has decided it is the right time. Glory knows she and Demetri have been dancing around one another and she has a love/hate relationship with the thought of him. When Demetri shows up though there is no doubt in Glory's mind that he wants her. However, Glory has been keeping a secret and in order to share it she has to trust Demetri? Can she and what happens when a threat to his family is in play?
I had been waiting for this one since Demetri was introduced. This was a bit darker then the other books from the MC series. I liked the story quite a bit, was a bit surprised by Glory and how her story unfolded. Demetri is pure alpha male and his whole background dynamic is intriguing. Great book, looking forward to see what is next in this series.

From the moment we were introduced to Demetri, I knew his story was going to be amazing. From his gentle moments with his grandchildren, to the ruthless mafia king he is, his character was beyond my expectations. Glory is sassy, smart-mouthed, and is the perfect match for a guy like Demetri. He can provide her with a life of love, happiness, and protection, but he can also give her something she so desperately needs - control. Their life has definitely had it's flaws the past few years, and once they're together, that doesn't change. Except this time, they're fighting for each other and would willingly give their lives for each other. Again, another fantastic read! Cannot wait for more.

I enjoyed this book more than i thought i would . Demtri has been great but i didnt think his story would click for me. But crystal and sandy have again proven just what kind of writers they are i was hooked from the firat page i keep quessing outcomes and i rrally liked glory. Her and demetri are perfrct for each other. I loved seeing some of our favorite characters and catching up again. And ill be rereading the series plus demetris book soon. So please check this book out ypu will not be disappointed

Demetri and Glory are a force. I love how even in the worst situations Glory keeps her sass and stays strong. She's a fighter and her strength is what a man like Demetri needs so she is perfect for him. I also love that Demetri isn't blinded by greed, money, and power. Family comes first to him always and he loves hard. His affection for Glory is sweet. I look forward to "seeing" them in future books, especially Nikolai's.

I couldn't wait to get this book in my hands, I always wondered about the man that was Demetri Volkov! This book did not disappoint. It had all the feels and had me hooked from page 1. This is a great series worth picking up and reading. I can't wait for the next book, hoping to find out about Nicholi next!
