Great tips, not just the handful of worn out ones you get everywhere else.
Having recently started my own podcast show, I know from experience that this book offers far more than any of the other ones I've read. Outstanding tips, not just the handful of worn-out ones you get everywhere else. Jackson offers practical, real-life advice, from his own experiences and those of other seasoned podcasters. He goes miles beyond “how to get your first 1k listeners” to discuss how to branch way, way out. There are chapters on how to give seminars, retreats, juggle real life with work, set financial goals rather than just listenership ones, and lots more. Down-to-earth inspiring, neither outrageous nor overwhelming.

If you're a podcaster, this is a good book to read. If you're thinking about podcasting, it's a good book to read.

Dave Jackson has been in the podcast business since 2005 and, during this time, has seen a lot when it comes to what works and what doesn't work in terms of being successful with a podcast. He's knowledgeable with an easy-to-access teaching style. The book is well-organized and quick to read. You'll not only learn about how to have a profitable podcast, you'll be inspired by the stories of other podcasters that he shares.

Some of it was a touch shoddy (the hundreds of links written out in full form, for example, since I can just google the name of the site for the person or company), but I learned a lot. I also get the sense that Dave is a guy who shares as much as humanly possible to help others, and I really appreciate that.

Dave Jackson's "School for Podcasting" is one of the podcasts I've followed for a while. My favorite part about it is that he's helpful without sugarcoating things. For example, he recently did an episode where he was able to draw upon several examples to show that it takes 3 consistent years of podcasting before you can start to make any noticeable income. This book is helpful and pragmatic. As someone about to start their 2nd podcast, I hope I can use several ideas from this book.

Great book for those wanting to monetize their podcast.
Although a little outdated - it's to be expected. The author even makes a point of saying that things change quickly in the online world. What is a hot commodity today could be gone by the time you rad the book.

That being said, I would estimate 90% of what he shares can be implemented in some form or fashion by today's podcasters looking to monetize their efforts.

Definitely a recommended resource.

Loaded with Practical Ideas to Implement

I paused my reading to listen to a few of Dave’s pods and was able to add my Torg Stories show to Amazon and Spotify in less than 15 mins. There are lots of great tips for inviting listener engagement and a variety of options suggested for both growing and monetizing your show.
