Fun and nicely illustrated synopsis of 100 Ted talks all revolving around what makes a great leader. I had a few noteworthy takeaways regarding finding strengths in others and pre-mortems, but other than that this was more of just a fun little read. I don't think that one would read this hoping to gain some insight, but more to start their own internal process of dissecting their own day-to-day and how there is always room for improvement.
Mostly a cliff notes of TED talks, there were a lot of entries that seemed interesting, and some that just didn't move the needle. Though the compact format made it easy to get through, I think it would have been more helpful if it was just a few paragraphs longer for each entry to really give more depth into the actual talk.
- meet people in their onlyness - focus on t minus 1 moments - creative abrasion - red- vs. green-zone behaviors in chickens (and office) - relational equality - where is your barbershop - hug-a-thug
All the write-ups are so short that it was hard to understand just how the talk that's being discussed is related to the subject at hand. Thus only one description out of the 100 made me consider looking up that specific TED talk.
It’s great book that helps not just to lead, but inspire, by learning how to communicate ideas with clarity, confidence, and impact. Definitely words of wisdom.
