Five reasons I should never go near Oz Taylor:

• He’s a hot as sin world famous rockstar with a big...ax.
• He’s a huge, tattooed older guy with a piercing dark gaze that can destroy a woman’s virginity.
• He’s my forever best friend’s older brother.
• He hasn’t spoken to me in more than five years.
• Oh, and I’m pretty sure he hates me...

Authors’ note: Play Fast is a standalone enemies to lovers rock star romance. The Brooklyn Dawn series has a suspense arc that goes through the entire series. It will be resolved in the final book. Play Fast ends in a happily ever after with no cliffhanger for the main couple.

Authors Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott never disappoint me, and I was thrilled to be back with the Brooklyn Dawn gang in Play Fast. I love watching the band’s personalities come out more in each book and the interplay between this group who is more like family than band members. Play Fast was a bit of an enemies to lovers, best friend’s big brother romance with a twist.

Bassist Oz Taylor is a bit of a wild card, he likes to have fun and he’s not averse to causing a ruckus especially during after parties. He is talented and a good friend, but he also carries some demons inside stemming from his sister’s death. He isn’t happy that his little sister’s best friend Daisy Flannigan was hired as the band’s hair and make-up artist or the fact that she’s touring with them, but Daisy wants nothing more than to get Oz to talk about the past and that’s the last thing he wants to do. Too bad she knows just how to force him to talk.

It was easy to feel the push/pull between Oz and Daisy and their shared history made this story interesting. I enjoyed every moment of these two together, my problem was I wanted more time with them together learning each other as adults, sharing what they’ve been through since the night Oz’s sister died, and discussing their plans for the future. The romance took a back seat in this story which disappointed me. Not being a fan of suspense in my romance, I’m already over that story arc and am more than ready for that to be gone from these books and this part REALLY took way too much time from the romance between Daisy and Oz.

I ADORED the times the band was together playing, doing concerts, just hanging and giving each other sh*t, and it’s important for the band. I also appreciated the way they’ve brought Daisy into their fold. I also enjoyed seeing Lila whom is to be expected, but also Nick passing out sage advice to Oz.

I enjoyed Play Fast, but I’ll be honest I want more sex, rock and roll, and fun and less gloom and doom. I want, no, need more happy in my romance.

Since she joined Brooklyn Dawn's tour as their hair and makeup artist, Oz has been avoiding her and she's done with it. So she decides to steal Oz's truck to get him to finally talk to her, and it sets off a chain of reactions that will change their lives in ways they never saw coming. She's tired of Oz ignoring her, and she wants someone to just talk to about the mutual person in their lives - her best friend and his sister, who died in Daisy's arms. But is she prepared for Oz? The rockstar? The man she's always loved as more than just her best friend's brother?

One thing's for sure - Oz isn't prepared for Daisy. He's sworn off love and feelings, but Daisy has always gotten under his skin, and her joining his tour has done more than get under his skin. He's not sure how to handle exactly how he feels about her, what her presence is doing to him, all he knows is he wants her, even if he knows he's not good enough for her.

Is Oz prepared to power through his insecurities and just be with Daisy, or will he allow them to guide his behavior into hurting Daisy again? If only they could get on the same page. About their feelings for each other. About their feelings for the ghost that lies between them. And if only the forces outside of themselves who are trying to take down Lord Lewis and co. would disappear and leave them to find happiness.

I loved this sorta enemies to lovers rockstar romance. Oz and Daisy have such intense chemistry and it manifested in really, really interesting ways. From avoiding each other, to devouring each other, but sometimes hurting each other, I was glued to my Kindle as I was reading their story. I may have wanted to smack Oz a few times and hug the shit out of poor Daisy, but I fell in love with these two and their crazy love story. Now I'm just waiting for Teagan and Cooper's story, Play Mine.

Play Fast is a continuation of the Brooklyn Dawn series. A rockstar romance where Oz, bassist for the group works through the guilt he shoulders over the death of his sister. On top of that he’s fighting the growing attraction to his little sister’s best friend who has now joined the band’s tour as their makeup artist/stylist.

Daisy too feels guilt for her best friends death and her ever long crush on Oz grows deeper.

Together they work through their feelings on the past and bond over a strong and heavy attraction as well as their life long familiarity. The passion between the two is quite steamy.

Oh, and don’t let me forget the underlying mystery surrounding the band that is only now scratching the surface.

I’m excited for the next installment.

Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott continue their rock romance series, Brooklyn Dawn with this scorching hot romance packed with incredible music, drama and love.

Osmond ‘Oz’ Taylor, Brooklyn Dawn’s bassist has known Flannigan since before he became a rock good. She was his little sister’s inseparable best friend. She was also there the night his sister died and even though she’s now part of the tour’s crew, he hasn’t really spoken to her in the five years since his sister passed away.

On the anniversary of that horrible night, Daisy has had enough of his avoidance. She hijacks his truck and forces him to talk to her. On the way to his isolated cabin, the tension between them is impossible to ignore and being in close quarters the sparks between them ignite into an unstoppable inferno. The day after though, brings fear to Oz’s forefront. Can they face their demons and find a way towards a future together?

I love rock and roll. It’s not just a line in a song, I really do love it and I loved the fact that the opening chapter in this book was of Brooklyn Dawn in concert. There were many other music sequences with the entire band I absolutely loved because Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott are the queens of rock and roll romance.

Taking the stage with this awesome music backdrop are Oz and Daisy, whose back and forth was palpable and made stronger by their past. Especially on Daisy’s side, having major feelings for Oz since she met him all those years ago. Their road toward happiness wasn’t easy, they first had to face their past but it was well worth it.

Play Fast is book #2 of the Brooklyn Dawn series by authors Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. It’s a standalone, full length rock star romance, written from various points of view with a happy ending.

Oh, So Good!!!

If you are in need of a great rock romance that takes you on one gigantic rollercoaster ride this is the book for you!! Oz is the bass player for Brooklyn Dawn and has a connection to Daisy since she was a kid. Daisy was best friends with Oz’s sister, Kerry, who tragically died in Daisy’s arms. Both Daisy and Oz had closed any doors that they didn’t even know they had opened when Kerry died. Now they were both trying to deal with such an extreme loss in their lives.

Now years later and Daisy is now on tour with Brooklyn Dawn as their makeup artist and hair stylist and even though Oz is all a part of this he has never said a word to her in the six months together. Oz has been dealing with his issues through pulling the whole bad*ss rock star thing of drinking and smashing rooms. Daisy has finally had enough of being treated like an outcast from Oz and is thinking it’s a good idea to steal Oz’s truck and take him to his retreat for the next couple of days just to get things brought to the forefront.

Not only are we dealing with Oz and his hiding from Daisy we also have someone out there who wants to do harm to anyone related to Ripper Records. Their lives are threatened but even the band does not get to what extent as things are kept on the down low.

I have to say that these authors write like no one’s business when it comes to a gritty rock romance that actually makes you feel like a part of their books. I’m always excited whenever one of their rock romance books are released because they are that good. The ending of this book leaves me on pins and needles as to what is to come next. I highly recommend this book.

** When you are reading this wait until you get to Nick’s voicemail message…I need to get this on my phone now. Truly a laugh out loud moment**

These two authors never fail to come together and write a phenomenal rockstar romance that elicits all the feels all while stirring up lots of steam and adding a touch of suspense. Play Fast is an emotional enemies to lovers romance that will leave you crying, laughing, and swooning.

Oz is the scrumptious bass player from Brooklyn Dawn and Daisy is the brand’s hair and makeup artist. The two share a rocky past where a heartbreaking tragedy tore them apart leaving Oz with wanting nothing to do with Daisy. What follows is a story full of heartbreak and love, healing and hope as well as a good dose of humor and intense chemistry that will leave you cheering for Oz and Daisy.

I am staking my claim on Oz as my book boyfriend! I was completely charmed by this beautifully broken rockstar. As for Daisy, I absolutely adored her for her vibrant and spirited personality. The authors did a masterful job with character development as well the evolution of these two’s relationship. As with these authors’ previous works, the secondary characters play huge roles and I loved getting caught up with all of them. The band truly is a family. Play Fast can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading their other books for the ultimate experience. There is no cliffhanger, but it should be noted that the underlying suspense is threaded throughout the series. If you are looking for an entertaining, enemies to lovers rockstar romance, then you will definitely want to read this book!

I read an early complimentary version of Play Fast.

Oz and Daisy take you on the wildest ride!!!!!

How do you stop hating?! Or is it ever really hate and could it possibly be love? Daisy and Oz have a history. One which we don’t really find out about until their book and boy oh boy does it tear at your heartstrings.

You can definitely see the hate followed by the love these two have for one another. And it just gives the story that much more depth. Oz is sexy..no doubt there, but there is this fire of anger and sadness that consumes him. That drives him to push anyone and everyone away but his music. And in that push and pull you are a man who needs so much from a woman and needs so much from life and he is denying himself at every moment. And then there is Daisy who is light and has this spark of magic that draws you in and makes you want more of her effervescent personality.

There was passion, there was rage, there was a connection that went beyond any and all that was humanly possible for these two. The entire story you saw them heading towards each other, but feared that once they were together they would destroy that light and love.

And more than anything you saw Oz fight everything he was feeling and I wanted Daisy to pull him into the light. Daisy has a light that is so contagious that she has to be successful.

Ms. Elliott and Ms. Quinn have magic in their worlds. They bring together bands and bring love with their words. It is pure genius and I love it. Brooklyn Dawn is a band that will shine right up there with Oblivion and that makes me happy!

And then there is a twist. A plot twist that scares you, but also drives the story in a direction that will keep you wanting more and more of this series.

It was worth the wait and so much more!!

We are back on tour with band Brooklyn Dawn (Yes!). Oz lives with guilt and grief that he can't shake over the death of his sister. Band hairdresser and his late sister's friend, Daisy, is determined to help him work past his issues, even if that means finally showing Oz how she has always had feelings for him. But after five years of separation and hard memories from the past, things won't be easy.

I loved this story of two people trying to work past misconceptions and discovering that sometimes you have to forgive yourself to find your way to happiness and love.

The words these two authors bring to the page transport me into a musical world that I want to continue to stay wrapped up in. I want more!

Seriously this dynamic duo are amazing at pulling out the feels in their readers (fans) for the lives of their crazy rockers.

I love how seamlessly the rocker families mesh, and strengthen and support each other - even if they don't know you that well.

Tragedy pulled them apart, an opportunity brought them back into the same sphere. Guilt and grief are playing major roles in the lives of Daisy and Oz. Their rocker family helps them heal. The intense heat between them sparks more than really hot sex!

Trouble continues to brew as little things that seem like nothing, cause Ripper Records to tighten security.

This is one kick butt book!! There is so many feels that just wrap you up. The laughter, the friendship, the heartache, the loving, it just takes you there. I could literally NOT put this book down. Some of the scenes made me feel like I was right there with them. I wanted Daisy to do my hair too!!! These two characters are my absolute favorite.....Daisy so spunky and sweet and pure (In body only) looking to fit in and Oz!! I want an Osmond of my own to run my fingers through his hair!!!! Plus, I can’t leave out Nick, he has grown so much. This is a MUST READ!!!!!!! These ladies never disappoint!

Isn't Oz a territorial thing, “I gave her all the assistance she needed.” Yeah, that was bad even for me. When Noah shot me a baleful glance, I cleared my throat. “I mean, I bandaged her wound.” With Oz and Daisy things tend to go flying, "...she looked around frantically. “Where are my panties?” A little sheepishly, I pointed upward to where they were hanging from the ceiling fan." I liked this book, I loved Oz.

Two people meant to be but forbidden feelings for her best friends older brother and a tragic moment changes them. Daisy uses this to be an better person and Oz closes himself off and keeps music his priority. When daisy starts working for the band he keeps to himself and avoids her like the plague, Daisy takes it in her own hands to clear things between them once and for all always blaming herself for what had happened.

Emotions and feelings develop between the two but when things start to go well Oz runs away. This book had me laughing, smiling swooning, sad and smiling again. I loved the banter between these two and the other characters in the book. It kept me wanting more and not stopping for a break.

This book is left on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read the next book. If you’re looking for a rockstar, best friends older brother with a broody alpha and a sassy but sweet heroine this is the book for you. I was given this book as an arc to give an honest option

Another emotional rollercoaster of a read. Lots of steam heat, but also tender moments between Oz and Daisy, and major emotional healing for both of them around the death of Oz’s sister. I am wiped out, but in a good way. Can’t wait for the next Brooklyn Dawn installment, as the suspense/mystery thread continues. This team is the Gold Standard for Steamy Rock Star Romances!

This writing duo can always be relied upon to give us strong, feisty and sometimes quirky female leads in their stories and with Daisy Flannigan they’ve certainly done that. Despite Oz being the rockstar here, for me it was Daisy who stole the show. She’s tough and resilient, confident in an unassuming way, and despite her own sorrow over past events, for the most part she’s got her act together. She fun and funny and I loved her.

Oz is a rather damaged soul and it took me a minute to warm to him. He’s rather an enigma and I found it difficult to get a handle on him. His way of dealing with sadness and remorse was to effectively run away from those emotions, to try and block them out rather than face up to them, or find comfort in the bottom of a bottle. He made some bad decisions, but I was pleased to see that, with a little advice from a certain more experienced rocker, one who makes a fantastic cameo appearance, he did a lot of soul searching. Although I can’t say he's blessed with a great deal of finesse, and it did take him some time, ultimately his heart was in the right place and his actions went a long way to redeeming himself in my opinion.

Overall, Play Fast is more angsty than I was expecting. Things get very hot and heavy between Oz and Daisy until the little bubble they’re living in is burst and a big dose of danger brings them down to earth with a bang. We know from the previous book that there’s an unknown entity at work here, but I’m loving the suspense and intrigue, even though I’m desperate to know what’s going on and the fact that it’s driving me a little mad!

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of saying that these authors know how to write rockstars like nobody’s business. They give every musician their own unique style and personality and I can’t wait to read what life has in store for each of them in the future. I’m especially curious about Jamie, who’s great fun and larger than life but there’s more to her than meets the eye. I feel she was a little more testy than normal in this book, even for her, and I can’t wait to find out what’s going on there. I have to say my very favorite parts of this story were when the eclectic members of Brooklyn Dawn came together as a band, whether it be jamming together backstage or rocking everyone’s socks off onstage, I loved it. I’m a huge music fan and the vivid imagery of the onstage antics conjured up by these authors, together with the musical references warmed my little heavy metal heart. I can’t wait for more!

Well, this is a hard review to write. These authors are two of my favorites, and their rock series haven't disappointed, but I'm sorry to say this one just didn't do it for me.

Daisy does make-up and hair for Brooklyn Dawn, but mostly she's in love with the bass player, Oz. She has some past history with him, being the best friend to his younger sister. His passed-away younger sister.

Both Oz and Daisy have some unresolved feelings about what happened with Oz's sister Kerry and also how they feel toward each other. Does anyone really buy the -- can't date my sister's/brother's friend trope anymore? It seems a bit tired in this story and I'm still not quite sure whether I like Oz and Daisy together and gosh, it hurts to say that.

Their relationship story is told against a back drop of security concerns at Ripper Records. We've seen a similar story line before in this and the related series, so again, it just didn't feel fresh. I just didn't feel worried for any of the characters.

Nick Crandall's contributions to this story are probably the most entertaining. I also think his presence in the story is a big spotlight on what is missing. I've always found great escape in these authors rock and roll series, but sadly this one just didn't do it for me. I was encouraged by some of the potential foreshadowing of some boy-trouble between the girls over Noah the security guard, but I have no idea whether the story is going in that direction, but the thought of it will keep me reading this series.

Man do I love Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott's rockstars! These girls always make me feel like I'm out there on tour, in the studio or behind the scenes with my favorite bands! Play Fast is the second book in the Brooklyn Dawn series but reads as a complete standalone. It does feature some favorites from their previous series (Lost In Oblivion, Hammered and Warning Sign) but prior knowledge isn't necessary to enjoy this book. But seriously....read them because they are amazing!!!

Oh how I loved Daisy. She is strong-willed, ballsy and says what's on her mind. Her best friend Keri (who died several years ago) was Oz's sister but since her passing, these two have hated and avoided each other. When Daisy takes a job as the hair and makeup artist for Oz's band, Brooklyn Dawn, there's no getting away from each other. Oz is stubborn and holds a grudge against Daisy. He's broody and wild and prefers to be alone when not with the band. These two wind up alone for a weekend in a remote cabin and what happens is anything but innocent. Daisy and Oz are electric together. They heat things up with their sharp-tongued banter and their activities in and out of the bedroom.

Quinn and Elliott do what they do best, giving readers a sensual, sexy story that will make you blush. Hot is just the tip of the iceberg with these two! But aside from the heat, the authors also add in a mystery that will keep you guessing. And while this IS a standalone story, the mystery is not solved, leaving the door open for further danger in the next story. Just who is going after Ripper Records and/or Brooklyn Dawn? Readers will have to tune into book 3, Play Mine to discover more. I can't wait to see what is in store for Teagan and Cooper! 5 stars

This is book 2 in the Brooklyn Dawn series and while it could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the first book before this one just so you get a better understanding of the character's relationships to each other and things that are spoken of that happened in the first book. That being said, in this one we get Oz's book!! After reading the first book I couldn't wait to learn more about him and this one definitely did him justice!! Oz went through something that most people should never have to. And he doesn't deal well with it, not that I blame him a bit. Daisy has been through a lot as well, and blames herself for a lot. I loved Oz-he feel's so much but doesn't know how to actually express it. But when he loves someone? He is all in! Daisy cracked me up through most of this book-when she wasn't breaking my heart. These two went through something that no one should have to, and I will warn you to bring your tissues for that part. But the chemistry is off the charts and I loved seeing some of my favorite characters from the other series pop up as well! Now I need to know what exactly is going on, and I really need to know what is going on with Jamie!!! Because I need that woman's story like right now LOL!!! Loved this one! Another phenomenal read!

So much love for this book!!!

Where do I start??? Play Fast is sooo much more than what I was expecting and I was expecting a really good read! It was everything that I love in a book.

Amazing characters ✔ I absolutely love Daisy, the hair and makeup artist, and Oz, the sexy rockstar. They have a past. A past filled with good times and heartbreaking tragedy. After five years they find themselves back in each other's lives. Oz determined to keep her at a distance and Daisy determined to break through his walls.

Witty dialogue ✔ Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn have this amazing way of mixing sass and sarcasm, giving the reader these moments that you literally laugh out loud.

Angst ✔✔ These two characters are a little bit broken. Oz, I think, more than Daisy. He has much to work through.

Steam ✔✔ Off the charts chemistry and hot AF sexy times!!!

HEA ✔✔✔ Perfection, just absolute perfection! There was so much emotion packed into their HEA, one minute I was crying and the next I was laughing.

If I could give this book more that 5 stars, I would!!

This is Oz and Daisy's story and I loved it! Oz is a big and growly (yes that is a word) bear and he has some demons and Daisy brings all of them out. She was his sister's best friend and when his sister Kerry OD'd Daisy was with her. That was five years ago and he has never been able to get past it and now she is working with the band and touring with them as the hair and makeup artist and has become part of the family. Daisy has finally had enough of him ignoring her and stole his keys and goes with him to his cabin. Bring on the complications of close quarters, losing virginity, don't forget the madman who breaks in and stabs Daisy, and Noah showing up as security. Of course Oz cannot get past his demons fast enough to get out of his own way and leaves Daisy with a broken heart. Will he be able to win her heart? Oh, this one was so good! I cannot wait to find out what comes next and with all the uncertainty of the security issues there has to be more going on behind the scenes we need to find out about...

This book was sent to me by the authors for an honest review. Normally with these books, I like the hero right away but it takes me a while to warm up to the heroine. This book is the opposite. I understand that Oz was dealing with a lot due to the anniversary of his sister's death, but the way he treated Daisy was just wrong. He had been going out of his way just to be mean to Daisy. She is tired of the way he treats her and decides to hijack his truck and hitch a ride with him to his cabin. While there, Oz starts looking at Daisy and their chemistry explodes. However, after an attack, Noah is assigned as their bodyguard. After using Daisy, Oz just walks out on her. When he realizes what he lost, he tries what he can to win her back. I liked the suspense part of the book. I'm curious as to who is out to get them. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Wowza!!

Ladies...amazing! Read this book in one sitting!!!
How cute is Daisy? You can't help but love her. She is all things sweet and wonderful in a messed up world. And of course she has to fall for the canterous and orney, but smoking hot Oz.
Great characters again who come to life on the page. And seriously Nick, wow...all growed up. Love seeing these characters make appearances and seeing how far they have come from their own insecurities.
So intrigued by the mystery running through this book...killing me not to know 100% who the main target is or what the end game is.
Looking forward to it's continuation in the next book.
Lots of hot sweaty guys, fiesty women, steamy sexy scenes. You have done it again ladies!!! Bring on the next one.❤

This book gives you an interesting look into what has made OX the way he is today and what has left Daisy feeling like she has no friends or place in the world. Both of them have been broken from an event in their shared past. Now that Dasiy is touring with the band together they need to figure out their attraction to each other and how to move forward. While someone is targeting the label, the band and those close to them safety will be most important. We get all Brooklyn Dawn along with Lila, Nick and a few others making appearances. Good afternoon read with some hot sexy encounters along the way.

Oz and Daisy have a sad past due to his sister, who was Daisy’s best friend, dying five years ago. Oz has been pretty broken ever since. Daisy has had a thing for Oz for a very long time. She decides to force her company on him during a band break at the anniversary of Kerry’s death. And OMG are they hot together when they take off. That scene after the police station is scorching. And then Oz makes it fall apart. With drama and intrigue going on around them, he has to man up and make it right.

A Fantastic, Must Read Book
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I really loved this book. It kept me engrossed from start to finish. Cari & Taryn are by far the best writers I have read. They never disappoint you with their books. They know how to draw you into the story and keep you there till the end. I love the great characters engaging Chemistry and interaction. Their enjoyable, interesting storyline really had me engrossed. This is another great, entertaining, engaging, must read rock star romance

These ladies never disappoint me and I was thrilled to be back in the Brooklyn Dawn world. I loved Oz and Daisy together, but felt like their relationship/romance took a back burner to the suspense angle in this series which is not something I enjoy. There were some great scenes with the band that were vividly written and easy to imagine, but for me the romance was a bit lacking.

Oz and Daisy's story had me so much on edge. I couldn't read it fast enough. The 2 have been through so much since Oz's sister and Daisy's bestfriend died. Their coming together is explosive even though Oz feels like he does not deserve her. I so loved reading this book
