Ok this one was definitely better than the 1st book. The scene where the 1st book ended would have taken alot of hardwork to actually screw up so I wasn't surprised that this book was better.
In case you haven't read my review on the last book, I'll say it again. I dislike bully romances and I purposefully avoid them. since I accidentally read book 1 and it ended on an intriguing cliffhanger I was compelled to read this one too.
The start of this book, the yule break just started i.e. no vampires for 2 weeks. Meaning way less bullying. Also, the Stryx brothers make the FMC their concubine so she has more protection (from others and not the brothers themselves). The FMC has also calmed down a bit (since she found out that her family died in the last book and she doen't have anywhere to go even if she runs away) making her more level headed in her approach to escape.
She starts learning Frumosi magic from a woman referred only as the 'onion woman'. She also meets Gates who has embraced his werewolf side.
After the return of the MMCs more drama enfolds. More bullying, harassment, hurling of insults, sneaking around, threatening, getting threatened, etc. etc.
The best scene was probably when she gets pissed and almost burns the idiot brothers with her frumosi magic. The book kinda takes a turn there. After that it was kinda boring. It just felt like they had been digging their graves for the 1st and most of the 2nd semester. It exposed that the idiot brothers were just as impulsive as the FMC had been. Like killing one of the Preta twins was no calculated move but simply revenge. They should also have disposed of the incriminating evidence against the FMC as soon as she signed the contract.
I understand that they are not criminal geniuses but they did a very poor job of covering everything up.
In conclusion this book is obviously better than its predecessor but the ending is not intriguing enough to make me go back to read the last one.
Also, the whole menstruation blood consumption thing was extremely disgusting (its not just blood you know). I sincerely request the author NEVER to write anything like that ever again.
