Ah the HSTQ pandemic special, I was hoping they would produce one and it doesn't disappoint. From John Gartland's strong opening which gives a pretty good account of 2020 to J. A. Carter-Winward remembering past lovers cum sounds this collection captures the surreal experiences of the 2020 lockdown. Some very good additions this time around, A strong piece of prose from Andy Seven, great to see him included here. You get your usual level of violence and smuttiness but the stand out poem for me was "some things can never be put back together" by Bogdan Dragos, if I was drinking when reading that one I would have been in quick a mess so be warned.
Mr. Graham gives us the statement of 2020. STOP HOARDING TOILET PAPER!
Really strong issue - from John Gartland's excellent opener to Joshua Jordan's backdoor fantasies. J.A. Carter-Winward's contribution was the standout for me - funny, and really rather touching. In these sanitized times we need these timely reminders of wonderful, vulgar life. Wash your hands folks, but not of HST.
Holocaustic hologram a pandemic palindrome of pandemonium required reading in red. Liked the poem about the guy with the chicken and CK's poem was very calming like a 21st century Quaalude. Me, I delivered Jess Franco/Jean Rollin horror sleaze, a Bauhaus boner on Bela Lugosi's sled. Bone appetite, toot sweetie.
