Avery Fletcher makes a better friend than a lover—at least he thinks so. Well, him and every woman he’s ever dated. Now his encounters are brief and satisfying. There’s really no need to complicate things.

Though, when he sits alone on his porch listening to the cicadas, he has a brief lapse in judgment and yearns for someone to talk to.

Helena Davenport doesn’t need a man—nor does she want one. As heiress to her late father’s fortune and business, she’s here to impress. But apparently, you can’t get away from societal expectations—even in the twenty-first century, and the board of directors wants this queen to crown a king.

When she finds herself being tattooed by none other than bad boy Avery at a bachelorette party, she hatches a plan. He’s perfect—tattoos, unruly beard, and a sharp wit. Oh, and incapable of falling in love with her. He makes the perfect fake boyfriend.

She’ll get the company board off her back by giving them exactly what they asked for, and watch them eat their words. What could possibly go wrong?

Social events put the pair to the test, forcing them to get cozy—a little too cozy. The situation soon turns red hot and a little worrisome.

As the plan to stay platonic starts to fall apart, can the two keep their cool or will they succumb to the heat between them?

This was a cute fake dating story between tattoo artist, Avery, and boss babe, Helena. Aside from the miscommunication at the end which could have been completely avoidable, I enjoyed this one lots!

I was impatiently waiting for Avery' story, because I didn’t really know what to expect from him...
And well i can tell you he is absolutely amazing 😍😍😍
He is sucha cutie in a sexy bearded inked package 🔥🔥
And Helena?! 😍😍😍
I don't know why I expected she to be kinda snobbish but she is absolutely lovely and sucha strong-willed woman!!

The story feel a bit rushed from the beginning but it didn’t bother me because it's them in their own special relationship: in the easy way they interact to each other since the first meet; in the way they get comfortable one in each other life; in the way they joke and laugh together.
Everything about their story and their feelings is so natural it seems a little fairy tale.
And the bump they go through at the end just make everything more enjoyble.

Their story was a breath of fresh air, and I simply loved it. Just like the previous ones!

But now what I can’t stop think about is: and Hanson??
There are no hints about him or his future love in this book and I wanna know it!!!

And if I know one thing , it's that she and I weren't balanced."

To be totally honest with you, I wasn't expecting to love Avery so much!!!
In the previous books, I saw him but I really didn't see him!!! And I liked that he surprised me in a good kind of way... I wasn't expecting him to be sooo amazing!!!
As for his girl??? She was such a wonderful woman and she was unexpected too, in her own way...
These two couldn't be a more unfitting pair, but they were giving me huge smiles when they were together!!! So, they got my stamp of approval, Mr. Devlin!!! ;-)

I can see the headlines now.
BILLIONARE HEIRESS DATES GRUNGY TATTOO ARTIST.

Well, Avery is hot, tattooed, easygoing and he's kind of afraid of commitment...
He is living a content life with his adorable dog and he is happy to work as a tattoo artist....
THE Helena Davenport is on another class... She is a heiress and the CEO of a huge company...
She is a workaholic and she is tired of hearing that because she is a woman, she can not rule with an iron fist her company...
How these two different person from so different worlds collide with each other???
A bachelorette party that turned out to a tattooing session!!!

RICH SOCIALITE SLUMS IT WITH TATTOOED STRANGER.

Avery and Helena are leading different lives but deep inside they are not so different...
To be around each other is so easy and when Helena is selling a crazy idea to Avery, he is deciding to participate in this madness for the fun of it...
But neither of them can imagine that they could be more than friends, even though they are both attracted to each other...
As the time is passing by, they are seeing their deal to backfire and they are left with unwanted feelings and a thing between them that can lead only to heartbreak...
Their lives are on different turns... They will never be able to be together. Right???

CEO PUTS COMPANY AND HEART IN JEOPARDY.

I adore Avery... He seemed rugged and hard, but he was so adorable and kind!!! So respective!!!
I loved him very much!!!
As for Helena??? She was a tough woman and I liked her for not backing down on anything!!!
You would think that because of her status, she would be kind of a bitch, but she was nice and caring and accepting...
These two couldn't be more perfect for each other and I enjoyed their story so much...
Only Hanson had left and I am very exciting to read his story!!!

I fell in love with this author's stories when I read Hawk and this series just got better and better. I loved Avery and Helena❤☺

Avery was such a laid back gruff sexy tattooed guy. He just took things as they come. When he met Helena he was not prepared for all the feelings. She was smart independent and rich knew what she wanted☺

So when she proposed a fake relationship to help with her job situation he went with it. But soon feelings are involved and passions run high... Will he cope with being the man in The Helena Davenport's life.

I loved Avery's story. Their attraction seemed so effortless and so genuine. You immediately felt that these two were meant to be. The story was funny, sweet and just an awesome read all around. I can't wait for the next one ❤☺

If you haven't started Kat Savage's Men of Bird's Eye series, you are missing out!

Avery is the third book in this series and I did not want to put it down! Everything about this story was pure perfection!

We've read the stories where the billionaire guy falls in love with average woman. Kat Savage flips the script and makes Helena Davenport the rich WOMAN and Avery is the tattoo artist, who essentially is the last person anyone would imagine being paired up with THE Helena Davenport.

BUT IT WORKS! What starts as a fake relationship builds into something more. Kat Savage did an excellent job with these two! The story flowed incredibly well, the buildup was just right, the drama wasn't overdone and the bedroom scenes between Avery and Helena were HOT!

I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend reading Avery!

Gah! This is what I’m talking about! Hands down, my favorite of Kat’s books! She nailed it! Avery isn’t looking for love, he knows when someone gets close they have the ability to hurt you and he’s not interested in that, thanks.
Helena comes to Bird’s Eye for a tattoo during her sister’s bachelorette party and she’s instantly drawn to Avery, but so are all the girls. When she takes off her shirt and reveals the tattoos she has hiding underneath, Avery knows there’s more to this girl than meets the eye.
I’m not all about the fake dating trope but when it’s done right, I can’t get enough of it. Let me tell you, Avery had me reeled in, hook, line and sinker. The connection between the two of them was palpable. I got butterflies in my belly and had to fan myself a few times, because he was as sweet as he was hot. All the stars!

Once again we are pulled into the world of Bird’s Eye Tattoo Studio.

Let me introduce you to Avery, he’s all toughness on the outside and all sweetness on the inside. He is a walking contradiction in a way because knowing his career and looks you’d be quick to say “bad boy”. In reality he’s an enigma, he’s definitely a man where the cover of his books does little justice to the heart he carries.

Helena is a little bit boardroom and a whole lot of rock n’ roll. She handles the CEO life as she was destined too, but she has her secrets, she has her own uniqueness to give herself the power she feels without loosing track of who she is.

When they meet it’s an instant connection, it’s the flash of lighting followed by roar of thunder. Kat gives us a chance to see into a world where keeping up appearances means little if your heart gets lost in it along the way. She gives us a look at how it feels when you let go of self doubt and start believing your worth. She gives a love story where a tattoo god and a financial queen can live in harmony.

I really liked Avery and Helena's story.

Being a billionaire, Helena isn't what everyone would think she is. She has a lot of tattoos that she has to keep hidden based on her job. She has an instant attraction to Avery.

Avery is instantly intrigued by Helena. When she propositions him to be in a fake relationship, he agrees. They have great chemistry together!

These two just made my heart swoon. They are really so good together. Avery held himself so good at her work functions. I found myself smiling while reading how they were both smiling at each other. So good!!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I knew Avery was going to be a favorite of mine from when I first read “Hawk”. And here we are with his own story and I was right. He captured me from the very first chapter and held on to the very end. Avery and Helena were amazing and I could not put this story down.

Avery meets Helena when she’s in town for her sister’s bachelorette party. They rent out the whole shop so the whole part can get tattoos. Helena looks like she’s stuffed up but underneath those business clothes, she’s a free spirit who loves her life and wants her business to succeed. But being a successful business woman, there are some of the older generation that believes a man should be in the head spot. Since her connection with Avery is instant, she asks him to be her fake boyfriend to help get them off her back. Avery agrees to help her. But real feelings soon catch on.

Avery is carefree but also guarded. He has parent issues that have held him back from relationships but even he isn’t immune to the wonderfulness that is Helena. His caring side is so endearing that you can’t help falling for him too. Helena is a savvy business woman in a man’s world and she is owning them. Stuck in their ways can only go so far. The passion these two have for each other is kindle melting hot and I could not put this story down. The storyline follows along the same time as Will’s book and it was great to see both friends struggle with what they wanted and needed in life. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next. It’s an instant re-read for me.

Sexy, funny and not your typical “fake boyfriend” story!

Avery isn’t the “happily ever after” kind of guy, but he also hasn’t ever been the unfriendly guy at Bird’s Eye tattoo parlor. When he meets a woman and an unlikely friendship forms he genuinely wants to try to make her life easier. Of course they also have a ton of fun together and everyone can always use more friends if they are good people. As the story progresses we learn more about Avery’s personality and what is beneath the surface. Helena is not at all the kind of woman you would expect to find in the position of business she resides in. She is a breath of fresh air and quick witted as well.

I adore all of the Men of Bird’s Eye books and Avery’s story is no different. Readers will thoroughly enjoy the banter and sarcasm within Avery and Helen’s friendship. There is a natural change to their relationship that never feels rushed or incomplete. Another amazing story from Kat Savage!

I always have fairly high expectations for anything Savage writes and let me tell you, she never disappoints.

"I chose Bird’s Eye. But this…this chose me. She chose me"

Avery, has built a wall so high up around his heart that he never fully allowed himself to love.
Helena, being the master of the Davenport empire has only ever thought her life should take one course, running her family's business. When these two come together in the most unconventional way, they rattle tales, but they never expect to find exactly what they're looking for in each other.
Helena and Avery's story was so much fun to read, from their light hearted banter to their very steamy love affair. I love this series so much, more so because we get to revisit characters from the previous books.

Savage has always managed to enthrall me and Avery was no exception. She had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next but never wanting it to end, this book could be 700 pages long and I'd be so happy to read all 700 of them.

4 Star Review Avery (Men of Bird’s Eye #3) by Kat Savage

Kat Savage is a relatively new author to me, but what I have read I have really enjoyed. Welcome back to the men and women of the Birds Eye Tattoo Shop and I could not wait to dive in to Avery Fletcher and Helena Davenport’s story which was a good addition to the series.

From the first chapter I was invested in the story that Ms.Savage wove. From the first moment their eyes met there was a connection between Avery and Helena. The could not be more opposite on paper and yet they were a great couple.

The attraction between them builds until it becomes impossible to ignore. I fell hard for Avery, he is totally swoon worthy, caring and loving and he really brought Helena to life.

I enjoyed the build up in their relationship and this is a well written story with characters whose story you cannot help but be drawn to.

I love the Bird's Eye Tattoo Studio world!!!

I have wanted to know about Avery since reading Hawk, and I was not disappointed!! Avery is every girls dream man. Bearded, tattooed, gruff on the outside sweet on the inside, and he even wears suspenders!! I mean, seriously, this man will have you swooning!! He is always himself, and doesnt care what anyone thinks. Helena, I just love her. When they meet, it's an instant connection. I loved seeing Avery rub off on Helena, helping her to see that she can be her unique self and still run a boardroom.

I loved every single part of this book. Avery is now my favorite guy from Birds Eye! Go read this book, back go read the whole series!! You won't be disappointed!!

The playboy of Bird’s Eye meets his match!

Avery meets Helena when her sister’s bachelorette party comes in for a tattoo session—honestly what better way to celebrate your upcoming wedding?! The pair hit it off, both surprised at how much they have in common, and end up ditching the bridal party to hang out.

Over a late night bowl of cereal, Helena convinces Avery to be her fake boyfriend to both appease and rile up her company’s sexist board members, all of whom think she needs a man to be capable of running the company she inherited. What neither of them expects is their easy friendship turned faux romance to evolve into anything real, but the chemistry between them is off the charts.

Despite how different Avery and Helena were, they meshed so well and I really loved their story. I’m forever obsessed with this series, but I think their love story might be my favorite yet!

I swear This series get better with each book!!! Avery is an amazing tattoo artist but a crappy boyfriend. So he prefers not to be any one’s boyfriend. He loves his friends and the family they have created with their tattoo business. Helena is an extremely wealthy business woman who has taken over for her father and is doing the best job she can. Her board members have their opinions, but she is learning not to care about that. When Avery and Helena met the connection and chemistry is off the charts. He agrees to be her fake boyfriend, it quickly turns real. I loved The connection and the banter between these two. They were able to be so raw and honest with each other so quickly. I love This group of friends they are so close and protective of each other. This series is one of my favorite series to read.

Avery is nothing what I was expecting. He is this sweet and sexy man who has depth beyond being a tattoo artist. He captured my heart from that first chapter until the very end.

Helena and Avery have instant chemistry but with every fake relationship story they don’t act until one moment they can’t keep the attraction at bay. These two fit together like two peas in a pod. They complemented the other even when it looked like they were worlds apart.

This story was fun and flirty with loads of sexiness. I just flew through this story and enjoyed every moment. I look forward to more from these characters.

Avery… where to begin… I’ve loved this series from the get-go but no one has surprised me as much as Avery did. I am absolutely enamored by him!! Dare I say, I fictionally love him. Big cartoon heart eyes and all. He is the perfect mix of sweet and funny and down to earth whilest maintaining a rugged all-male alpha! Sheer perfection, I tell ya!! Helena is great too. Both have very different pasts but neither of them allow it to define who they are today. This story is full of hot chemistry, swoony moments and laughs in between. No unnecessary drama (which I appreciate!). And it has to be said…. Hawk’s neck had NOTHING on Avery’s haha I’d lick that damn cover if I could! Thank you, Kat!!!

I'm new to Kat Savage as an author. But I have devoured this series. I have to say I do think this one is my favorite. She has a way of truly making you feel like you're right there as part of the story. The chemistry between Avery and Helena is smoking hot, like might burn your fingers touching the pages HAWT! Life and making decisions aren't always easy. The question is do you let your heart or your mind decide? FIVE stars for Avery (Men of Bird's Eye, #3) I can't wait for the next book.

Kat has done it again with the third installment of the Men of Bird’s Eye series. Her phenomenal story telling abilities are a full frontal assault on your imagination; in all the best ways. Avery is by far my favorite thus far; who doesn’t love a tattooed man with a beard that can dance? What starts as a ruse as friends escalates quickly with undeniable chemistry between Avery and Helena. They come from two different world but will the the push and pull between those worlds lead to a power couple or destroy them both?

Swoon!!! Kat does it again with another book from Bird's Eye...
I wanted to know about Avery since he was in Hawk and I was so happy to read his book.

Avery is just as amazing as I knew he would be! He has that charm that will have you swooning and just his personality alone is awesome! He will have you falling in love with him!

Helena is the strong independent woman that does not need a man, she owns her own company and runs it seamlessly! She has so much on her shoulders and works all the time.

Avery and Helena are the perfect balance and match. Their chemistry is off the charts! I loved their story and even with the ups and downs still found their HEA!

I love the world that Kat created and can't wait for what comes next!!

I've had my share of ups and downs with this series, but I have to say, I really enjoyed this installment of the series! I loved the instant connection between Avery and Helena, and how their relationship deepened slowly over the course of their fake relationship. I loved how down to earth Helena was, despite her upbringing, and how Avery seemed to challenge her to grow in new ways. This was the best book in the series to date, and I'm now eager for the next installment!

Not only is this my favorite of the series, it’s my favorite of Kat’s. I loved Avery so damn much. Talk about a sexy hero. Funny and dirty and smart and talented just…sigh. And Helena was my favorite heroine. She was so complex and I loved her strength. I loved her chemistry with Avery and GOD THIS BOOK MADE ME SMILE! and yes this is Kat’s dirtiest book 🥵🥵 sorry this review is just me rambling as I smile and type on my phone. Goodbye.

This might be my favourite book in the series so far.
Helena was such a fun character. Her public persona a polar opposite to her private one. She’s brash and confident, compassionate and non-judgemental.
Avery is, well, everything I didn’t know I wanted in a man. He’s an animal lover, gorgeous, playful and creative. He follows through on his word and is a stand up guy. A rough childhood shaped him into the best version of himself.
Together they are hot and funny and regular. For a billionaire and a tattoo artist, they mesh incredibly well.

I was delighted to see the return of the fun acknowledgments (sorry Kat, but they’re awesome).

I received an arc of this and all opinions are my own, and voluntary.

Nayeli - per RFS
.

«L’amore?» dice Hanson.
«Ridicolo. Non siamo innamorati.»
«Ma un giorno potreste esserlo,» aggiunge Hawk.
«Ragazzi, siate seri,» dico.

Sembra quasi speranza.

«Ripetilo,» mormoro.
«Mi hai sentito benissimo.»
«Sei impazzita?»
«Cazzo, molto probabile.»
«Helena, io…»
«Non farlo,» mi interrompe. «Non azzardarti.»
«A fare cosa?»
«Non startene lì seduto. Non dirmi che non provi la stessa cosa.»

3.5 or 4 stars,..... not sure.

I’ve really loved these books. And I was so looking forward to this one. First off, the reason why I’m leaning towards 3.5 stars instead of 4.

There are a couple reasons. First being Avery. He’s got issues from his past that affect who he is and how he views relationships. And this is only touched on. Being that the book is about him and a woman, you’d think there would’ve been more talked about it. Why he was the way he was. Some type of explanation for it. More depth to it all. And when I say depth I mean that it was gone over more. It’s hard for me to read a book where this is the biggest issue yet there’s not really a big talk about it. It’s almost mentioned in passing. However, it’s such a big part of who he is and why he views relationships with woman as he does. If I made sense of that at all.

That’s the biggest issue. The second is,.... there was a conversation that happened between Avery and another side character that was never discussed. Yet the ramifications of that conversation were massive. It was like, that happened but never had a conclusion.

If there’s something that happens in a characters life that makes them who they are, there needs to be more conclusion. If there’s a plot point on the story that creates a massive explosion there needs to be some kind of explanation or conclusion to it all.

Not to say it was horrible or bad just needed something a bit more to make the story better rounded out.

And lastly why the rating,..... and I hate to mention this, however,... the more beta and proofreading I do the more I seem to notice typos and continuity issues. Continuity issues are a big one for me. And there was a few here that were very noticeable. A name being one of them. I had to flip back through to make sure I’d read it correctly.

Often times reading a book with typos and issues such as above really takes me out of the book. And it did here a couple of times.

Did any of this ruin my reading experience? Umm,.... slightly. But not majorly. Enough to be thinking of a 3.5 star rating rather than the 4 it could’ve been from me.

I really wanted to love this one. Like, LOVE, love. But it was love with al lowercase letters.

Will I read more? YEP! I need Hanson’s story and I’m even hoping for more after that! Because who doesn’t love tattoo artist, creative type, bearded men?

I will say that I also love that these books are written somewhat during a similar timeline. I love getting peeks see where in the timeline this was all taking place as bits from the pervious book are mentioned.

All in all, I liked it. Bits I loved and other bits were okay.

I do recommend the first book Hawk. The books can be read as standalone titles however you’d get more as a reader to start at the beginning. Enjoy!

I love catching up with the men from the Bird’s Eye Tattoo Parlour and Avery is a great addition to the series. I was excited for Avery’s story and let me just say this book was everything I expected and more. I fell hard and fast for this sweet and sexy man and I’m sure you will too.
Avery and Helena meet when she arrives at the Bird’s Eye for a bachelorette tattoo party, sister to the bride and the complete opposite to the normal clientele. An instant attraction and connection with Avery has her confessing her problems, she is looking to secure her place on the board of her late fathers Fortune 500 company and she needs some help to convince the board members that a woman can do the job. What follows is a fun, flirty fake relationship that soon turns into so much more……
This story has all the feels, it’s easy to read, it’s fun, it’s flirty, it’s witty and it has some seriously hot moments. I adored Helena but it was the sweet, sexy, caring Avery that took this book to another level. It was also great catching up with favourite characters from previous books but that being said I still believe this hook could be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone.

Sooo, I totally loved this book. Kat Savage is a knew to me author, and if her other books are as good as this one, I need to read them. There was obviously other characters from other stories previous, but it only made me curious and didn’t effect my enjoyment of the story at all. I somehow felt comfortable and warm, while also completely excited and intrigued by the story.
Avery was cruisy and hot and a bit of a goof. Helena was down to earth, strong and smart. They had great chemistry, and even though they started out just wanting to be friends, things moved along quickly. After Avery tattoos Helena and they end up chatting for most of that night, she gets the random idea of asking him to help her ruffle some stuffy feathers at her work. They both had fun together, and it was truly adorable to see their relationship develop, with only a teensy bit of angst toward the end.
I’m not sure how else to describe it, but I feel like this will be a book that I want to come back to, when I’m in the mood for a cosy and steamy read, snuggled up with a hot drink. 4.5 stars.

I’m loving these Birds Eye Tattoo shop characters and I was looking forward to bearded, happy go lucky Avery.
What a lovely hero Ms Savage has created with Avery, I really enjoyed getting to know him as he navigated his fake romance with Helena.
Helena is a tough CEO cookie. She is fed up of trying to conform in the corporate ‘mans world’ of stuffed shirts and over sixty year old board members with archaic views.
Underneath her business attire she is a really lovely, kind hearted young woman with a rebellious streak and a fighting spirit that takes no nonsense!

When she asks tatted Avery to be her fake boyfriend she didn’t expect to find herself with such a wonderfully real friend or such a deep connection to him.

A lovely story of two, perhaps unlikely people finding real friendship and love despite being from two totally different worlds….differences that really don’t matter when love is the reward.

After enjoying the first two books in Kat Savage’s Men of Bird’s Eye series, I was eager to dive into Avery. While I enjoyed this one, I’ll be honest and say it is not my favourite in the series.

The first half of the book had me hooked. I wasn’t completely invested in the ‘she is so specially because she is so unique’ element of the story that happened so quickly, but I was having fun with the couple. The way things played out between them had me devouring the first half of the book in the blink of an eye. The second half of the book, however, felt a little too easy for me. That is not to say I disliked it, I simply felt it was not as developed as it could have been. I wanted more drama, more feeling, more of everything. In some ways, it felt like I blinked and it ended. It was not bad, just too fast for me.

All in all, this was another fun addition to the series, despite feeling a little too quick and easy for me.
