Tyson- Every Saturday morning during my shift at the diner, I’m graced with the presence of the most gorgeous man on the planet; Officer Gage Langston. The problem? I’ve always had a bit of verbal diarrhea when I get nervous, and Officer Langston makes me extremely nervous. Not because he’s a cop; I respect law enforcement, but I don’t fear them. No, my mouth becomes a geyser of stupidity when he’s around because I’ve had a raging crush on the man since the first time I saw him walk into the diner. The even bigger problem? Even if the sexy older man weren’t obviously straight, he’s way out of my league.
Gage- I have a problem; I’m borderline obsessed with the gorgeous man who waits on me every Saturday at the diner. I don’t even know that much about Tyson, except there is something about him that calls to me. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t feel the same way about me, though. Every week, I enjoy our conversations so much, even if I don’t know what the hell is happening half the time. He’ll ramble on and go off on wild tangents when he speaks. I love it; it’s like going on a car trip and taking all the detours to see the fun pit stops. But it always seems like he doesn’t enjoy our interactions as much as I do; I think I make him nervous. Probably because he can sense I like him, and he’s not too keen on having some old fart perving on him. Tyson is so young and precious and free-spirited. The last thing he needs is a predictable, graying, softening old man. He’s way out of my league.
*This M/M May-December romance is for readers 18 and up! It contains a sexy, loving cop, his bow tie wearing angel and their feisty best friends. It has no cheating or cliffhangers, and a very happy HEA. **My stories tend to be low on angst because it hurts my heart. They are, however, packed with sexy scenes, heartwarming moments and a healthy dose of humor.
Author’s Note
Thank you for your interest in my book! My stories tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart; I like getting to the good stuff and live for fluff. If “instalove” isn’t your thing, my books may not be for you. I want my readers to finish my books with a smile on their face and a fierce case of the warm and fuzzies. Laughter is guaranteed, and each read delivers its own type of drama. Thanks again for taking a look and happy reading!
I live in rural Ohio with my husband and two sons who drive me nuts, but I love them with all my heart. I enjoy reading and writing romance of all types, but gay romance is my forte and favorite! Twice the sexy men? Yes, please! My books tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart, but they do contain lots of heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a healthy dose of humor. Thank you to everyone for checking out my page and I hope you enjoy my books. Happy reading!
⭐️ 4.5/5 — Sweet, soft, and stupidly adorable—Gage and Tyson made my whole damn heart melt. 💘🫠 🌶 2.5/5 — Soft, warm intimacy—nothing wild, just tender, cozy heat. 🫂❤️🔥
💭 My Ramblings 💭
Jayda Marx is officially the Queen of Fluff, and I'm her most loyal, sugar-high peasant. 👑🍭🍬 I usually dodge miscommunication like a bill collector, but it was so short and sweet here I didn't even have time to get mad! Gage and Ty are sickly sweet and I’m 100% here for the toothache. 💞🦷✨
🚨💘 CRIME ALERT: THESE TWO ARE LITERALLY KILLING MEEE 🫠🪦
Quote: Gage: “And as far as you not being good enough for me? That’s just insane. Everyone is going to take one look at you and wonder what a gorgeous, funny, sweet man is doing with a crusty old fart like me.” Ty: “You think I’m gorgeous?” Gage: “Of course, I do. If you don’t know that, I’m failing as your boyfriend.” Ty: “No, you’re not! You’re an incredible boyfriend. You’re sexy and smart and so good to me. You make me feel like someone important and special and I love you for it.”
💭 I AM SLIDING DOWN THE WALL. 😭🧱🫠 Gage calling himself a "crusty old fart" while treating Ty like a literal prince? That’s not a green flag, that’s a whole forest. 🌲🌿🌳 If my future man doesn’t think his life is a failure because I don’t know I’m gorgeous, I DON’T WANT HIM. 🙅🏻♀️🙂↔️ Gage and Ty have officially ruined my reality. 10/10, no notes, just vibes and tears. 💖🥲
🌶️💦 CODE RED: CUTENESS OVERLOAD IN THE BEDROOM 🥹🤭
Quote (Gage's POV): “I trust you and if it’s okay with you, I liked it just being us. I…I like feeling your…stuff inside me.” I couldn’t help but chuckle at how adorable he was. He just rode my cock like it was his job but couldn’t bring himself to say cum. “I like knowing my stuff is inside you,” I admitted. “And just so you know, you’re the only person my stuff has ever been inside.” “Mmm, good.”
💭 I need a moment of silence for how absolutely ✨️precious✨️ this spice is. 🕯️ Ty is out here riding Gage like a champion bronco rider 🤠🐎 but still can't bring himself to say the word "cum". He called it "stuff." S.T.U.F.F. 🥹
I'm sorry, I have to report a crime: This is TOO fucking adorable. GAH!!! 😩💕 Gage's smooth AF response of, "I like knowing my stuff is inside you," and then dropping the ultimate mic-drop bombshell about Ty being his ONLY ONE is just unfair. 🎤 I am literally biting my fist right now because this is the perfect blend of swoon and sweat. 😍🥵

”And you were right the first time; I am pretty old. In a couple of months, I’ll be turning forty.” He said the word like it left a bad taste in his mouth. “Hey, forty isn’t old,” I countered. “It sure feels like it. I wake up stiff every morning.” My mouth went dry again. Don’t think about him stiff. Don’t think about him stiff. Oh no, I’m starting to get stiff. - He looked so sweet in the movie theater when he wanted to hold my hand; embarrassed, nervous and excited all at once. And the feel of his smaller hand in mine was amazing. With that simple touch, it felt like I was protecting him from the world while still being tender so I wouldn’t hurt him. Part of my brain was saying an almost forty-year old man shouldn’t be so wound up over hand holding, but the other part was saying to shut up and enjoy it. I liked that part better. - His first date ever was with me; a boring guy twice his age. He was so young and vibrant. How long could corny dad jokes keep him entertained? So far, I’d offered to take him on a bike ride and let him pet my dog. God, that sounds even more pathetic the second time around. He needed to experience everything life had to offer, not be tied down to some old fart. He was too good for me. - “Tyson.” His name came out on a whisper. I didn’t know what to say. I was blown away that such a simple gesture that I thought was a mistake had meant so much to him. I looked from the frame to his gorgeous big brown eyes. “Thank you.” “For what?” I wasn’t even sure what I was thanking him for; seeing the good in me, reminding me little things could sometimes mean the most, showing me what I’d missed out on all these years, being a sweet and wonderful man…the list could go on and on. I finally settled on, “Everything.” I swept him into my arms and kissed him like my life depended on it. It sure felt like it did. - “There’s just something you don’t know about me and I don’t know how you’ll react.” What could he be nervous for me to see? Is he uncut? Pierced? Tattooed? Does he have a ball ‘fro? Hell, I didn’t care what it was. “Tell me, Tyson. Nothing is going to change the way I feel about you.” - The memory of Tyson licking my cum off his fingers in the shower was enough to keep me half hard all the way home. Good lord, the man was sexy. I shook the dirty thoughts from my head and killed the engine of my SUV in my driveway. After the toe-curling blow job from Tyson last night and our sexy shower antics this morning, another orgasm so soon may send me into a stroke. - Holy shit, I’m getting a striptease. -
I loved Tyson and how he started blabbering when nervous, how bright he was and funny. I loved Gage so much too!
The age gap aspect made this book somehow even sweeter. Now, the cop part made it sexy. 🤭 The smut was really good but what made me rate this 5 stars are the characters. They were so real, I laughed so hard at some scenes, their friends (especially Chris) stole my heart. The whole vibe, experience with this book was just heartwarming.
So glad I picked up this book. Jayda Marx quickly become one of my favourite authors when I'm in the mood for insta love and light books. It's the second time now that her books are helping me deal with a book slump. 🧡
Now I'm continuing with the next book! Ahhh can't wait to read Chris's book!!! 😍
It’s been a while since I’ve read a book this corny. But…. it’s really fluffy and there were parts that did make me go awwwwww, even though it could be too much at times.
Tyson is a waiter at the diner where Gage comes to have breakfast every Saturday morning. Gage is 39 and feels way too old for the cute young thing who can't seem to stop talking. But he can’t help but wanting to know more about Tyson.
Tyson has a huge crush on the older cop who comes in every Saturday. He is so nervous around him that he can’t stop talking whenever Gage comes in.
With the help of Gage’s colleague Chris, Gage finally has the nerve to ask Tyson out.
And when that first date happens, it is clear they are both smitten….
If you don’t like insta-love, don’t read this. This was insta-love on steroids.
It had a cheesy, fluffy feeling all the through that I sometimes liked and sometimes make me want to throw up.
It was fun and entertaining, but veeeeeeeeeery unrealistic. But hey, sometimes you just need something light. If you can stand the cheesiness, go for it.
Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below. Speaking of eyes, his were gorgeous; wide and chocolate brown, like they were stuck in puppy dog mode and it was adorable.
No one does fluff quite like Jayda Marx, that’s for sure. This definitely isn’t her fluffiest, but it will still make your teeth ache. Actually my second time reading it, because sometimes you just need something easy and sweet (even tho she throws in some action and external angst in this one).
Gage and Tyson are pretty adorable together, although my mind seriously struggles with picturing an adorable bow tie-wearing-virgin twink called Tyson. Sorry to all the Tysons in the world, but no. That’s a thug-on-the-street-corner-with-face-tattoos name. “Oh my god, you got laid, didn’t you?” “What? No! Anyway, I wouldn’t tell you if I had.” “Yes, you would. You’d probably call me right afterwards to gloat.”
Name bashing aside, I kinda love this one, annoying miscommunication and all (it’s not actually that bad, just very obviously just there to make it interesting).

“Have it your way,” he whispered. “So, Tyson, some of the guys from the force go out on Saturday nights for drinks. I was wondering if you’d like to join me this weekend.” “Oh!” Tyson looked at Chris with wide eyes, then turned his gaze to me and back to Chris. “I can’t.” “It’s okay, Tyson,” I said with an edge to my voice, “I’m sure Officer Thompson wasn’t trying to push you.” I glared daggers at my partner before taking a sip of my coffee. “It’s not that,” Tyson explained. “I mean I literally can’t. I’m… I’m only twenty.” I gasped and coffee went down the wrong way.
Geez, the guy sucks my dick one time and I turn into a mush-fest.
Plus, the doctor did say no physical exertion outside of physical therapy for six weeks. But we were in week seven, and I was beyond ready to exert myself. Being around my sexy, loving, helpful Gage without being able to touch or be touched by him was about to make me exert myself in my pants.
I love a book with characters who have a substantial age gap. In this book, Gage is almost forty and Tyson is twenty. I love a protective character. That's Gage in spades.
I smiled a lot while reading this. I even laughed a few times because of Chris (Gage's work partner) and a drunken Tyson (yes, there is underage drinking in this book, and yes, he does it in front of a table full of cops… you’d have to read the book to see why/how it happened). I admit to getting teary a time or two. It’s cheesy. It’s over the top. It was exactly what I was looking for.
The editing is not perfect. The book is beyond unrealistic. Even so, I enjoyed the hell out of it.
To be honest, this book really wasn't all that good. Far, far too sweet and fluffy for me. And of course, the plot was kind of unoriginal and quite predictable.
I shouldn't complain too much because I could have stopped reading at any time, but I didn't. Probably because I was just in the mood for this kind of book.
I'm definitely not going to pretend that I'm not going to continue this series. I'm obviously just in the mood for sappy content, so Jayda Marx is the way to go.
Oh, Tyson you sweet innocent boy. I loved his word vomit so much. It was cute and not over the top like it can become. Done just right. Looking forward to the mysterious Lyle and what his story can be!
Omg i loved this book it was so sweet although the romance was a bit too fast i really enjoyed it and the way gage and tyson displayed their love reminded me of my boyfriend and i when we first got together so all in all a sweet and fluffy book that will make you smiör
The fault is mine as the author did forewarn at the start she only writes insta-lurve stories. Mine eyes started rolling when an almost 40 year old, 'uber-masc', 6 foot plus, well-built and hairy police officer catches the eye of twenty year old, twinky 5 foot three, with a tendency toward verbal babbling, slight-built waiter who loves to bake .... umm stereotyping much?? And naturally, Gage and Tyson's interactions, reactions, declarations of 'lurve' fall pretty much into their to-be-expected stereotypical norms - the former becoming all protective he-man over his tender-hearted angel. By this time, the eye rolling was inducing a headache. I had to 'down-tools' when I got to Tyson's revelation. The only character I liked and was invested in is BFF Monica! DNF @ 75% mark.
There’s Insta-love and then there’s this cavity inducing fluff with a side of cheeseball. I called time of death at 70% because I just could NOT for another second. I went ahead and rounded up to 2 stars to give it the benefit of the doubt since I did DNF it, but unless there was a complete writing style change in the last 30% of the book, 2 stars is generous. It was so corny and OTT in every single possible way. One MC was 39 and the other 20, but they both came off WAY younger. It felt like they were more around age twelve with their interactions. Maybe it was supposed to seem whimsical, naive and fun, but it was cringe inducing for me.
Tyson was adorable and his nervous babbling around Gage made me laugh.
Gage and Ty had great chemistry and their connection shined beautifully. Prepare yourself, Ty and Gage were pretty quick to jump to ‘I love yous’ or ‘move in’ etc which although, sweet was unrealistic. These two were cute, sappy and made for each other.
Some might find this story a bit too sweet but I suppose it all depends on what your in the mood for. Personally, I enjoyed Gage and Ty’s story - it was fun, sweet and the events towards the end made my heart stop.
This is my second book so far by Jayda Marx bit definitely not the last. I loved everything. The characters, their story, the supporting cast, the humor and the length! Those last two especially are hard to find. Very few typos or grammatical issues, and I just love how this author writes. It's mostly light hearted and I am smiling from beginning to end. This the was the perfect pick me up after scouring for a new, exciting read and coming up blank. I'm on to the next one!!
A sweet fluffy romance in this May/December story. Gage and Tyson are a couple of sweeties who are perfect for each other. The is very little angst in the story and as it is so sweet you may need a dentist after for the cavities! It's an enjoyable experience.
My heart be still!! Perfect, sweet and sexy story. I LOVE the pace these two MC’s set to their relationship. The all consuming, “you’re my one and only for the rest of my life” love they shared, splendid. Love it.
I read this book/series a couple of years ago but I never got around to posting a review on any of the series, so here goes. Jayda’s books are always filled with sunshine, sweetness and little to no angst. They just make me smile. I enjoyed this book but I do wish that the book was longer, as their relationship moved at warp speed even for a Jayda Marx book. I thought that Gage and Tyson were cute together, Tyson is such a sweetheart. Tyson, has been drooling after Gage aka Officer Dreamy for ages now as Gage comes in every Saturday for breakfast. Tyson’s so nervous each time that he talks to Gage, that he has verbal diarrhoea and blurts out all the thoughts in his head. Tyson, believes that Gage is straight and even if he was gay, he’s completely out of his league.
Gage, is a wee bit obsessed with Tyson and he enjoys their talks every Saturday, even if he doesn’t know what’s happening half the time. Gage thinks that he makes Tyson nervous because he can sense Gage’s interest in him. Since Tyson’s half his age that he doesn’t need some old man drooling over him. Gage believes that Tyson’s completely out of his league. I really liked meeting Gage’s friends/found family, and fellow police officers. They’re an awesome group of people and I loved that they accepted Tyson from the get go, and believe that he’s a total sweetheart. I thought that Gage’s sister Gina was a complete b*tch, yes even if she was shocked to find Gage was dating a man half his age, she didn’t need to say all the mean things in front of Tyson, she could’ve just spoken her worries to Gage in private.I’m looking forward to reading the next book. Gage’s partner Chris, and Lyle Tyson’s old neighbour are up next. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to others.
These two were super cute. This was definitely a sugary sweet read about an almost 40 yr old police officer and a 20 yr old waiter. It was pretty insta love but I didn’t mind it because they had been kind of flirting with each other for months.
I liked both of the characters they were both were sweet and so good to each other. Everyone kept telling Gage that Ty was too good for him and I was like why does everyone keep saying that? Because yes Ty was great but Gage was also equally a great and loving person. I think they deserved each other. There was some miscommunication a couple of times but unlike other books it didn’t bug me too much because it didn’t ruin anything.
I would have liked to see some more police stuff happening though since this series is kind of advertised as that.
I really want to continue the series. I’m just super hesitant to read the next one because Chris is literally one of the biggest manwhores I’ve read about. We hear about it constantly too as if it would make him more appealing to us. We hear how he will literally sleep with anything as long as it has a wet willing hole 🤮 and that he has to go look for hookups outside of town because he’s already slept with all the available males in his own town. We hear about it over and over and over again how much he sleeps around and I wonder why the author thinks reminding us multiple times would make us want to read his book. He also flirts with Ty way too much for my liking. But the thing is Chris is so likable. He’s a good friend to Gage and I really want to read his book but if I have to be reminded how much he gets around I won’t be able to finish it.
Also I love Monica!! She’s ride or die for sure!!!
No cheating No true om drama (gage gets jealous) Kind of third act but it’s a miscommunication and lasts a day Virgin MC vs celibate non manwhore MC HEA (engaged)
Happy book :) This is the funniest romance I read in.. ever! Hilarious!!!
I was literally laughing out loud from page 1, the tiny misunderstandings Tyson creates with his friend and with Gage had me laughing with tears!
And the funny banter between them later, because Gage is funny too!
I will remember this couple for a long time.
The second part was less hilarious and more sweet and emotional. At that point I grew so attached to them that I suffered during some small misunderstanding, cried when Tyson was so happy and everything was perfect, and then suffered again for all the bad things that happened to him.
I also loved how mature Tyson was. He was not only funny and witty, but also humble, smart, strong, kind.
Gage is also a humble man and doesn't look down at Tyson for his age, he learns from him and really appreciate him. I loved how they resolved a mistake from Gage during their first date as Tyson gives him a long speech making him understand he is not a kid and Gage just stops having any doubt about their age gap from that moment on.
Just as in the other book I read from Jayda Marx, Chasing Jackson, I love this because the relationship takes place for most of the book, it starts early so I got to really enjoy them together and how they build the relationship making it clear that they are serious. No unnecessary drama, push and pull, or a rushing resolution and hea in the last pages.
It's something refreshing and different from most of mm romance. So rare.
This was exactly as advertised…. Super sweet, low angst, completely and unapologetically insta.
Gage is a 40 yr old police officer who meets Tyson (20) at the diner where he eats breakfast every Saturday. Tyson is his waiter each time and babbles adorably whenever he sees Gage. They’ve been chatting for months, each convinced the other has no interest. They finally go on a date (instigated by Gage’s friend, Chris) and things move quickly from there.
The plot is made more interesting by the inclusion of Tysons slightly mysterious neighbor, a break in, a trial in which Gage must testify, and finally a near fatal car crash.
- Minor 3rd act separation due to a miscommunication. Resolved within 12 hours. - Communication - these two do not shy away from saying how they feel - Nicknames - love, angel - all the spice - Tyson is a virgin, never been kissed; Gage is not, but he also doesn’t like one night stands and is not a player. It’s been over a yr since he’s been w someone. - No OM - Gage’s cute dog, Axel - Both gay and out - Found Family - Tyson’s best friend Monica (his parents died in a car accident when he was a teenager and she’s been his ride or die ever since), Gage has his partner/friend, Chris and a terrible/opinionated sister who makes one appearance and harshly judges his relationship w Ty. - Age gap. 20yrs. Tyson is young, but is able to stand up for himself and does several times. Tyson is also a talented cook and baker. - Dual POV; HEA. Engagement and living together
A light, cute, feel good read.

Tropes and Elements: - Age gap - Cop MC - Virgin MC - Instalove - Low Angst
I’m realizing when I first started reading Marx I was a bit more critical because I had just gotten back into reading and had old expectations lingering. Now, I just love instalove! Her books are seriously the most comforting blanket for me, when I get in book slumps or feel bad. Her writing is easy to read and very enjoyable. Yes, it is tropey and predictable, but that’s good for me.
In this story we have Ty and Gage. They were sweet and wonderful together. I loved the way Gage was so thoughtful with Ty - such as his comment that it was okay if Ty didn’t want to have penetrative sex. We see that line of thought so rarely in MM books. Ty was an adorable cinnamon roll with his need to fill the air with his words as his nervousness gets to him. I found him so sweet.
Their story was good and has all I expected - good sex scenes, moving in fast, a proposal, cute dates and domesticity. However when the 80% conflict came (which did get home in the feels because wow), I thought that was the end of it, but then something even more awful came at 88%. I didn’t expect that from Marx. We definitely got an HEA so I’m not upset about it, but it was a little more angst than I usually expected from low-angst Marx.
I’m definitely interested in the story of Lyle, who is someone who’s obviously been hurt and I see his story so with Chris. I hope Chris treats him right.
The blurb was absolutely right- 'sickening sweet and insta love' but soooooo good! If you're looking for a deep suspense this isn't it. The age difference between Gage and Tyson would've normaly been a problem for me- Gage's 40 to Tyson's sweet innocent 20 but somehow it just worked. You just cheered for them all the way through. I loved that all Gage's cop co-workers were so supportive and accepting of them. Hated Gage's sister- it just shows just how accepting his family was- not. These guys were just too cute together. Four stars because I felt Monica should've been called to the hospital as soon as the accident happened. She was basically his only family and wasn't there to be a part of the whole thing. It sounds like Ty wasn't out of the woods for four days, surely someone thought to call her. If I were her I would've been so hurt, angry, and upset. I wish their was a scene with Ty and Mo later. Despite that, the rest of the story was very good! Now on to Book 2. Hope it includes Ty's neighbor Lyle.
Tyson works at a diner and every Saturday morning the most gorgeous man Officer Gage Langston comes in. When serving him Tyson's mouth runs away with him talking rubbish because he is so nervous. Too bad he has such a crush on him as he believes him as straight and out of his league. Gage is obsessed with Tyson who waits on him every Saturday at the diner even though he sometimes has no idea what he is rambling on about. Gage thinks Tyson is not interested because he is a predictable, greying, softening old man and is way out of his league.
I loved this story of the two men who had a major crush on each other, the way they got together and how they navigated all the problems that came at them. I loved their devotion to each other even when the other had screwed up. Tyson was such a pure soul and their love was just a magical and pure thing. This was easy to read and the thoughts and emotions of the characters were easy to pick up from the writing. This is an MM story with mature content.
When I read a Jayda Marx book I know that I am going to get beautifully realistic characters, swoony romance and lots of heat! Ty and Gage are the perfect couple. Gage is an older cop with a huge attraction to the sweet young man that works at the local diner. Ty has been crushing on Officer Dreamy for months, so when he finally asks Ty on a date it's like a dream come true. From their first date it's obvious how much their attraction is mutual and, even though the relationship moves pretty quickly into something serious, it feels natural. I loved the cast of supporting characters and I'm excited to jump into the next book in the series. Definitely a feel-good read and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Oh. My. Goodness! This was so freaking adorable! OK, maybe a teensy bit cheesy adorable, but adorable none the less. Tyson (Angel) is so stinking cute, he made me melt inside, such a sweet, innocent young man. And Gage? Wow, what a wonderful man, not expecting to fall head over heels for a man 20 his junior and ending up being so protective of him. I just LOVE age gap romances, this one was perfect, I also love insta-love, which this certainly was, and just the right amount of angst to keep us on the edge of our seats. To make even more enjoyable all the other characters were very likeable too, just a great read.
Jayda Marx totally does what she states on the tin. Insta-love, age gap, all that. I enjoyed aspects of this, but don’t think she's an author I’ll return to often. The power imbalances sometimes are too much for me to feel comfortable with, even in this insulated little bubble (and this is fairly tame for her, I believe). Like, any autonomy Ty had at the beginning of the book is completely taken away by circumstances along the way. And the drama that was wedged in at the 75% mark seemed very contrived to me. (Also, it's a little copaganda-y to me, with how much Ty is fawning over Gage for saving lives and Gage is like, "Not a lot of people understand/respect that." Meh.)
While this book delivered a sweet love story, I honestly felt as though the story deviated rather sharply once they started dating. They were still sweet with one another, but the focus seemed to be more split between smut and a plot involving Gabe's job as a police officer. It felt almost like two completely different stories to me. While the plot wasn't bad, it just didn't work for me. I give it 3 stars because I recognize that just because it isn't the book for me doesn't mean it won't be good for those who prefer this author's writing style.
