I am not very familiar with Norse mythology. So my introduction to Loki, the God of fire/ God of lies, was through this memorable love story. Loki as the hot, paranormal paramour to the beautiful yet lonely (contemporary) librarian Arianna has all the good things you can wish for in a good romance and more. A good cross between mythology and contemporary paranormal romance. Loved it.

I am positively surprised and delighted by the fact that this exceeded my expectations far higher than I thought it would - I've heard nothing about it which is super disappointing. It was so cute and entertaining and I love the author's writing, she should have so much more cred and promo!

The premise gave the impression of erotica, which I would disagree on - the plot wasn't that big, but it was still (a bit) too much plot and not enough smut for being an erotic novel imo, BUT with that being said, it is still SMUTTY, I don't want to scare off anyone. Many people would still say it's a LOT of it. At some point, it felt a bit informative, more resembling literature about Norse mythology than a romance novel. It would've been great if it was a longer novel - we could still get all the cool info (because it's always awesome to read about Norse mythology) and more spicy scenes and romantic growth between the characters.

Loki in this novel resembles a nicer version than MCU Loki - basically a Loki after TVA went to hell. My stupid ass likes badder Loki a tiny tiny bit more, but that's just my preference and I still love him, and takes everything I can get. I'm very Loki-cheap that way.

Overall, good work Gisela Grey - I hope we get to see more of you in the future! And to others: we need more Loki characters in romance, he's just fucking amazing.

So to actually start off, damn hard book to get a hold of. Only was able to find a copy on Amazon.

Though it is in 3rd person, it was amazing. And the cause of the 3rd person effect, we are able to understand both side and stories of Loki and Arianna. Also, the book was so damn good finished it in 2 days.

Noticed just 2 mistakes but near the end. So in all this is actually quite a sweet loving story. Where Loki is actually portrayed as more of a person wanting to love an be loved, than just a full-on bad boy. I also like how Loki is set to give off the impression to women that you don't need to be thin to be beautiful. (Don't get me wrong I'm a size 6) But I love the fact that it helps people see that being so thin isn't always attractive.

Also, love from all the animals he could turn into to be safe and help on earth, he turned into a black cat. Guess he forgot that many modern-day humans hate black animals. But as luck would have it the one that found him, doesn't.

It does change a few of the myths that surround Loki, but not by much, and Hel a writer is meant to add a certain amount of original imagination to a novel.

Definitely a book that would read many times over.

As a devoted fan of Loki, stumbling upon "Loki Mortal Mate" felt like discovering a hidden gem, especially with its captivating cover featuring Loki and a cat. I absolutely adored this book. The blend of lore, with just a few twists around Loki's character, kept me hooked. While Loki was portrayed as a bit less of a traditional bad boy, it was a refreshing change, adding depth to his character. The spicy moments added an extra layer of excitement, and the protagonist being a nerdy, curvy loner who works in a library was both relatable and endearing.

What really resonated with me was how the story portrayed Loki as someone seeking love and acceptance, rather than solely a mischief-maker. It was a pleasant surprise that added a whole new dimension to his character. I also appreciated the message about beauty conveyed through Loki's preference for Arianna's natural beauty, regardless of societal norms. The inclusion of Loki's ability to transform into various animals, ultimately choosing a black cat, added an intriguing layer to the story.

Gray's ability to blend mythology with her own original imagination made for a captivating narrative that I couldn't put down. Despite the deviations from traditional myths, the essence of Loki and his mischievous nature remained intact, making it a delightful read for fans and newcomers alike.

"Loki Mortal Mate" is a book I can see myself revisiting many times over. With Loki at his mischievous best and a heroine navigating a world turned upside down, the story offers both excitement and heartwarming moments. While mischief may be Loki's forte, his protective instincts and unexpected emotions added depth to his character, making for a truly engaging read.

In conclusion, "Loki Mortal Mate" earns a well-deserved five stars from me. It's a magical romance that captured my heart and left me eagerly awaiting more from Gisela Gray.

I came for Loki smut and was not disappointed. Also a lovely nod to the Lokeans and even the godspouses which I did not expect but was happy to see.
