Meet the men of the Birmingham RTMC...

Bobcat is good at managing the workin' girls in Chattanooga. When the Birmingham chapter is decimated during battle, they put out a call for help, and Bobcat is sent to manage their strip club. It turns out, the dancers are divas and the waitresses are angry, and managing a titty bar is nothing like managing the RTMC Motor Hotel back home.

Tess McKnight is a highly-successful, tough-as-nails criminal attorney. She doesn't have time for fools or idiots, but the RTMC is one of her biggest legal clients, so she has to spend time with the new manager of Blaze to make sure he doesn't screw everything up.

She's a mongoose and he's a cat. These kinds of sparks aren't supposed to fly between them.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.

Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.

Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.

Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.

Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

Sensually magical is how I would sum up this romance. The second book in this new series is more playful and at times, mischievous than the first. Sometimes, I wonder if Ms. Blevins is writing books just for me. It feels this way because I loved so many things about this book. For those who have never read a Ms. Blevins book, this can be read as a standalone. Warning, this may cause a sudden need to read the two other series that revolve around this paranormal world.

What did I love? I loved the different shifter animals. Most people think of werewolves and cats when they read of shifter stories. Dragons are popular albeit a bit less than wolves and felines. The exploration and expansion into a mongoose shifter tickles me pink. Especially when this adorable critter turns into a ferocious lawyer in human form. Although one can argue that Tess, the lawyer is cute as a button in her human form and just as ferocious in her animal form. A certain squirrel may attest to Tess's ferocity when she is a mongoose. If there was one thing I would have liked a bit more was more mongoose and bobcat time.

The suspense part of this story added another layer of richness by creating tension and conflict in Tess's budding relationship with Bobcat. Their courting is a clash of wills as the two test to see who is more dominant. I can appreciate this because Tess wants a male who will be able to accept her take charge attitude, wealth and ability to defend. An insecure male who exerts strength through beatings into submission or deriding her accomplishments is worthless to Tess. I can relate. Tess is a strong female who needs a partner. Is Bobcat worthy?

This dominance dance can be intense at times and softer when a reader least expects it. The subplot of recovering from a major supernatural war gives insight and depth into Bobcat's character. His day job is one I can relate to, even if I don't manage a strip club. It is his leadership style and how he unwinds dysfunctional behaviours of his employees to become a functional team that appeals to me. I must admit, I am envious that he canes disobedient workers and enjoys a side benefit of anal. If only...

Tess's client issue which brings in the suspense element and why she needs bodyguards speaks to my need for justice. Sometimes, justice is not played out in the court of law and other methods are needed. The desire for those who are hypocrites to be brought down is strong within me. Tess's decisions and actions are swift and beautiful to witness. The fallout, retaliation and subsequent brutal return volley makes my heart soar in delight. There is something so erotic and appealing about males who can protect, defend and then switch to offense.

Ms. Blevins weaves all these tantalizing elements into a tale which kept me up all night. This book is a page turner with humour, erotic kinky sweetness, stern alpha discipline and primal pleasure. This book is highly recommended to paranormal readers who love their romance with a spicy bite and sassy female lead.

So, Candace really brought it with Bobcat. It was interesting knowing what was going on while Dementor and Ember were getting to “know” one another. But, that was just one thing that I enjoyed about this book.

Bobcat was interesting. Dominant yet understanding. Tough yet compassionate. Unyielding in some things yet a softy in others. He was loyal, loving and totally committed to his MC brothers in both Chattanooga and Birmingham. Then he meets Tess and his life becomes a little bit complicated. He needs submission … she needs domination but can’t submit. It makes for a very interesting union.

Tess is tough. She is intelligent and knows how to do her job. She’ll do whatever it takes to help her clients … guilty or not. It’s that drive and determination that puts her in the predicament she’s now in. The only bright spot to that is Bobcat. A mongoose and a bobcat should not be this attracted to each other. Neither is monogamous but her mongoose wants nothing more than to be with the bobcat. But, this is temporary so she’ll take what she can get while she can get it.

As Bobcat and Tess navigate the murky waters of him being MC and she being an attorney, never mind the animal part, they find that their hearts have become involved. It’s time to put an end to the problems she’s having and to move forward with their lives.

I adored this story. The sex scenes were truly consensual yet bordered on non-consensual. Until Tess submitted … then it was truly making love with a “bit” of kink. They worked together and it showed in the story. You can tell that they clicked the minute they met each other and with the way they treated each other. It was interesting watching them take the voyage from lust to love. And, the ending. Oh, Bobcat stole my heart. Yes, that caring, loving, understanding man shone through and I loved it.

Like I said, Candace really brought it with Bobcat. She showed the kink, she showed love and she made the story very interesting with the bit of suspense she threw in.

This is a story of opposites attracting. He’s a biker in a one percenter club. She’s a lawyer. He’s a bobcat shifter she a mongoose shifter. They are both tough as hell. She needs someone strong who isn’t a bully. Bobcat fits the bill. These two are terrific together. This is a rough sexy tale that will have you alternately sweating and cussing.

While I like BDSM books, this one was a not quite my flavor, I'm not big into consensual non-con. So why you ask do I keep reading, #1 I like the world these are set in, so many series connect, #2 there are usually weird shifters and I like to read about the weird ones. This book is a bobcat, sort of normal and a mongoose, yes a mongoose, never read a book with one of those.

What I really liked about this one was that from the start Bobcat (yes that is his name and his animal) and Tess talked about things from the start and through out their relationship they kept talking, really only having issues when they got a little too in their head and stopped talking. But even that was quickly cleared up. For the most part they were on the same page, even as things changed, they were right there, maybe fighting a bit in their head. There were times I wasn't sure if the drama that Tess ended up in helped or hurt them, it seemed both at different times.

I liked how these two were able to work things out, to figure out a way to have each other, despite their very different jobs and animals and be happy.

On a side note, I think some of my favorite parts of this one was when the two of them introduced their animals and then let them play. So much fun!

Candace Blevins’ “Bobcat” is book 2 in the new RTMC Birmingham series and I couldn’t be more pleased about it. I LOVED the back and forth between Bobcat and Tess. So much so that for most of the book, I was grinning or chuckling or both. And then when they do finally get together…LOVED IT! If I were to differentiate “Bobcat” from “Dementor”, I’d say that “Bobcat” is giving us much more of what it’s like in the Birmingham RTMC and I’m really enjoying those details.

It’s no secret that I enjoy paranormal romances and Candace Blevins writes some of the best out there that just checks all the boxes for me. Can’t recommend enough.

DNF @60%. I am really having a hard time in Birmingham. I can't connect with the characters. Bobcat seemed very reasonable. The perfect guy but he also seemed like a robot. I got about 60% of the way in but realized I was just not enjoying it and didn't care about Tess at all. And this despite that I loved her kink. I totally get that but I had been reading it for 4 days. That's unheard of for me so I had to conclude that I needed to find something else to read.

shifters and MC great combo 🥰

Ok this is the first book in a series that is connected to another Rolling Thunder MC series and I really liked it. It has lots of action and danger. Also lots of smutty scenes with lots of butt stuff. With a really nice HEA terrific story and I am going to read the next book in the series

Every Candace Blevins book is a journey and this one is no exception. The setting is post Armageddon and while good just barely hung on, there is a new reality for humans and supernaturals alike. And that setting is absolutely tangible in this very immersive experience.

Bobcat and Tess just feel right. From the get-go, two very distinct and self-actualized personalities manage to merge into a believable and relatable pair, in a very organic way. Even in the midst of the suspense and intrigue and danger to life-and-limb, the mesh between the relationship and the circumstances in which they need to create their pairing beautifully enhances the reading experience.
And a consuming experience it it is.

I think this is one of my favourite books. Its an intense relationship in an intense setting, and a captivating reading experience but with the feeling that you're part of the events, not merely turning the page.

I really like this new world that Candace Blevins has created. The battle of good and evil is over. Life is slowly forming a new normal. Businesses are struggling to establish their place in this new world. Even the local Rolling Thunder chapter is struggling for numbers. Enter Bobcat, an RTMC member from Chattanooga. His time in Birmingham is to be short. Straighten out the dance club/brothel and get back to Chattanooga. What could possibly change his mind?

Enter Tess, ruthless Club attorney, and oddly enough, mongoose shifter. Her character, just like her animal is ruthless. She takes no prisoners in the courtroom, but desperately needs a partner that can handle her. Turns out a Bobcat knows just how to handle a mongoose...who knew. Tess is the kind of character that I'm not sure would be all that likeable in real life, but works really well as a character, particularly in this story. Although I did really appreciate her willingness to stand up to her client, even if it meant putting her own life on the line. I also appreciated it for the fact that it brought in the need for the whole Drake Security crew to make an appearance in the story.

This story is definitely enjoyable to read. The intensity was pretty mild for this author, but may still be a little more than some readers are prepared for. Like always, the story is really well thought out, with lots of details. It's definitely worth reading

Things in the south are still in disarray since the big battle between good and evil. (Unhuman Acts) Bobcat is a bobcat shifter on temporary loan to the Birmingham MC from the Chattanooga chapter of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. Tess McNight is a mongoose shifter and attorney for the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club Birmingham chapter.
Bobcat was hired to manage the RTMC Birmingham stripper bar. It's nothing like managing a hotel but fortunately Bobcat is smart and figures out what needs to be done to handle the employees. Tess has to make sure that Bobcat knows what to do to prevent  local law enforcement from learning all of the club's illeagal activities. When Tess meets Bobcat it's instant physical attraction but it's going to take a lot more than that to bring a bobcat and mongoose together as mates.
There is drama, danger, and intrigue when the life of one of Tess' clients is threatened and she gets caught in a dangerous government coverup.
This was a very nice read. There was some BDSM but it was light compared to Dementor. I wish the story had been a little longer with details of Tess getting to know the Chattanooga people.

I was aware of who Bobcat was from previous RTMC books but beyond the fact that he wrangled the MC's working girls, I really didn't know much. However, all that changed quickly when I began reading Bobcat. As he moved into taking over management of Blaze he quickly established himself as a no nonsense, "I don't do drama" disciplinarian with a softer protective side if you followed the rules. He's intelligent, quickly thinking and astute. He works hard and plays harder. He knew from his first meeting with the MC's attorney, Tess McKnight, that she was special. I have to say that Tess was absolutely riveting. She's tough, gutsy, and doesn't suffer fools or idiots. She knows what she wants and is not hesitant to go after it. When she and Bobcat hookup try as she might to set the rules she's no match for the intractable, Dominant. A cat and a mongoose together? Who knew it would work so well?

4.9 I absolutely loved Tess and Bobcat! Tess is a mongoose and Bobcat well you got it he's a cat. They totally shouldn't get along but they just can't stay away. Besides it just a temporary arrangement right? Who know that they would fall in love. Tess takes on a case that puts her life in danger and Bobcat and Drake security have to keep her safe. In the end it will take all of them including the RTMC. Tess is no weakling and letting herself submit to a man is hard. But love can do mysterious things. If you haven't read Ms Blevins books I suggest you start!! Her Shifters and Vamps are the best!!

I would reread this book anytime!!!!

*I felt like Bobcat should have been first in the series, since Dementor started after Bobcat and Tess. Because when we were first introduced to Tess in Dementor's book I had wondered who had claimed her.

I admit, I had to look up a Mongoose to see exactly what Tess was, because while I knew what a Mongoose was, I didn’t know about Mongoose (Mongeese? Mongooses?) Anyways, what a perfect shifter to be a lawyer, I mean really, small, powerful, not afraid of anything, and loves to take down snakes. I love the cats in this world, and Bobcat was no exception. Independent, slightly cocky, and all alpha, his attraction to Tess catches him off guard. It catches her off-guard too, and takes her a bit to get things on track in her brain. Bobcat isn’t all in either, and they both treat it as a happy for now well past the time it is sliding into a happily ever after. Of course, that only makes the happy ever after all the sweeter and a perfect blend of what he needs and she needs, and of course, the house and wolf-dog already set-up for them!

I love the characters that Candace creates, her heroes are alphas to the nth degree and Bobcat is no different. He meets the MC’s attorney, Tess and she does something to his cat, but she is a mongoose and once they start on a roller coaster romance, will their animals like each other.

I was glued to the pages, especially when it came to Scout, Tess's beloved pet, won’t go into too much details as I don’t want to spoil the story, but Scout is one of my favorites parts of the story. Of course, the storyline is so engrossing, and the power struggle between Bobcat and Tess was amazing to see, how they fall in love is even more powerful.

Bobcat’s story can be read standalone, you will see a lot of characters from other series and that just in itself is always a bonus for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Bobcat is just marking time while he helps his Birmingham brothers. And then he meets Tess. Tess the lawyer for the MC. Tess the ball buster. Tess his. But with danger surrounding her can he keep her?
I loved seeing Bobcat and Tess find their way. Tess was so confident and strong willed she needed someone who wasn't put off by her strength. I loved that even though he wasn't looking for permanent Bobcat enjoyed the many layers that made up h iui s Tessa. I loved that her supported Tess even as he scratched their mutual itch. I loved that when the going got tough so did Bobcat. Ms. Blevins has given us another well written enjoyable read. This story is full of love, strength and family. I look forward to where she will take us next as the Birmingham chapter rebuilds.

Like it. Spoilers kinda in review

It was a good story, different but kept you reading. I love the fact she pays attention to her editing, no errors popped out. I know the additional senators were all killed off, who was after Tess and why? Who kidnapped her dog? How was the FBi involved since the dog was kept in their bldg? I absolutely hate parts of the story left hanging. The first half of the book was all about the club Blaze, yet the second half of the book never mentioned the club....i cant give a 5 star with so much left hanging.

What a great story. I love the match up here between these two formidable people. Bobcat and Tess are great personalities on their own so when they come together the sparks start flying immediately. As with the previous book they have great sexy chemistry and they also have a deep emotional connection. I'm loving how the RTMC is handling this new world they find themselves in. Can't wait for the next book.

oh so good

No matter how many books of Candace’s I read I just love them more and more. Wonderful characters in a wonderful world very well written. Bobcat and Tess’s story is about the attraction of the MC clubs attorney and a transplant RTMC member there to run a business start hitting it off and the sparks start flying. And if a man puts his life on the line to save your pets life then you know he’s a keeper! Phenomenal story you absolutely must read. Loved it.

Bobcat, a shifter on loan to the Birmingham MC to manage the strip club. Tess is the high powered attorney that handles all their legal matters. The attraction is palpable, hot erotica, HEA. Great story with Tess in danger from a client. Cameo's from Drake Security. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Spin off from The Rolling Thunder MC series.

Bobcat rocks my world! He’s patient, steadfast and sexy as hell as he pursues Tess. Both are predators, but his dominance shines through as he maneuvers and patiently waits to claim Tess. It’s sexy when a man has the confidence to go after a strong woman! The heat is turning up in Birmingham! Come along for the ride. It’s looking like it’ll be as complex, hot and steamy as Chattanooga! Xoxo

Bobcat and Mongoose magic

Who would’ve thought a bobcat and mongoose could find a spicy hot romance? Candace made it happen in this action packed story! I also loved seeing some past characters from Chattanooga making an appearance! Tess and Bobcat’s story is a great addition to the Rolling Thunder MC series and I can’t wait for more stories to come!

Bobcat was an excellent second book in the new Birmingham series. Tess is a strong woman that can take care of herself and does but can open herself for the right man. Bobcat there to help out Birmingham as a favor but . . . You going to have to read the book to find out the rest its a great read and a little different from some of the other couples but a really good story.

Exciting and entertaining

I tend to forget how Ms Blevins books draw you right in and keep you engaged all the way to the end. She has a real gift of making the characters so life like and realistic, you feel like they could step right off the page, sit down and share a beer with you.
Thoroughly loved reading Bobcat and Tess's story. Ms Blevins outdid herself again.

Bobcat & a Mongoose

Interesting combination. She likes to fight not submit & he's semi ok with it. She loves pain he's willing to give it to her. He's a 1% MC Biker & she's a high priced lawyer. Match made in heaven till some shit goes down. Watch how they handle it!

It's brilliant!!
