Oh Billionaires! #1

Billionaire BOSS: Secret Baby

Rate this book
He’s the man I absolutely hate.

Why?
He took my v-card.
He left me in a hotel room. Alone.

Four years later …
He’s a billionaire consultant, the No. 1 in NY City. (So much for karma!)
A demanding, bossy jerk who’s cocky AF—
and still panty-melting hot (See? No karma at all!)

He can’t even be bothered to remember my name.
Now, he holds the fate of my job in his hands.

I should resist him.
I shouldn’t let him tempt me.
At the very least, I should have stopped it with the kiss he gave me.
Our first hook up was by accident—one time only.
Unless you count the second, third, and fourth times…

Then, he says we’re more than friends, and I feel myself melt.
It turns out, even a man like him has a heart.

It’s unfortunate that we can’t be together.
Because he can never find out…
He’s the father of my child.

Naomi and Jonah hook up for one night when he takes her virginity. He deserts her leaving no note not even a goodbye.. She doesn't see him again for 4 years. Jonah is now the Consultant for Mayfair real estate firm where Naomi works. Its a shock when he walks in but he doesn't even recognize her.

Naomi starts out very angry and belligerent with Johan her new Boss. Jonah doesn't know why she is acting this way. He was hired to clean up Mayfair Real Estate and get it back to making money. Naomi finally tells him why she is so angry with him. Eventually with a lot of coaxing the two get back on very hot sexy bases. They have sex all over the office.

I really didn't like that Jonah doesn't find out about his son Timmy until the last pages of the book. Yet he see the child every time he picks Naomi up or goes to visit her and her parents at there apartment. Timmy is not a part of the story At All!! Timmy and Jonah have No interaction together. He also, is in pre school. But he is only 3 ears old. You can't go to pre school in my State until you are 4. The other thing I didn't like there is nothing to indicate Jonah is a Billionaire. He seems an ordinary working guy.

This story didn't work for me. It was a disappointment because "Baby Billionaire Daddy" was such a great story. But this one Miss The Mark!!

I had slightly higher hopes for this book based on the ratings others have given to this story, but this just didn't do it for me.

Spoilers ahead!

Firstly, I don't understand why Naomi had such an attitude and feels as if Jonah should have remembered her when all that was promised was one night. I mean she was a one night stand (when you have sex with a stranger whose last name you don't know...what were you expecting?). She knew what it was. Just because she was a virgin and the night was important to her, why would she think it was important to him? On top of that it's been YEARS. I don't know what she was expecting and the attitude she had was unreasonable.

Secondly, the time line didn't add up. A woman is normally pregnant for 40 weeks, which is 10 months (not 9). A first time mother usually gives birth early so lets say she gave birth 36 weeks and not 40. Almost 4 years, means her son would be about 3 and a 3 year old is too young for school. You have to be 4 for pre-k and most schools start at kindergarten and that's age 5. There is no way Timmy should be in pre-school at 3.

Thirdly, this man is good at his job and had access to her personnel file. It was even mentioned that he intentionally pulled it. After he realized that she was the Naomi he slept with, how did he NOT realize that with Timmy's age and that he took her virginity, that the little boy he was becoming attached to could have been his son?

Finally, her snapping at him at the end when she found out that the owner made the decision to close the business. Upon first meeting him, she stated that she knew the CEO was incompetent so I don't get why she blamed him. Yes, as her man he should have given her a head's up, but her being mad at him keeping the fact that she may be fired is laughable since she was keeping the fact that the man was a father from him. On top of that, her boss was fired. Jonah wouldn't be a permanent boss so if you're a secretary with no boss, the odds are you're not going to have a job for long.

Honestly, when her boss got fired and the man asked her was she interested in doing something else other than being a secretary, she should have taken the hint and started looking for work elsewhere. Especially since it was alluded that she was the primary bread winner in her household.

this was going to be a campy billionaire cinderella. But it ended up all
kinds of layered characters with a double dose of DRAMA.
Relationships between H and h and many others play out to make suspenseful defeat of the evil ex. Unfortunately Ella is barely tolerable. She is a selfish liar. Maybe that is why she has his dragon ma Ruth licking her boots at the end

An easy, light read with lots of sexy time, but too many inconsistencies to be enjoyable.

The title doesn't even work. Nothing points to him being a billionaire AT ALL and Timmy was an after thought who didn't even factor into the story until the end.

How did he not wonder if Timmy could be his kid? Simple math would have hinted that it could be a possibility. Naomi never even thought about Jonah being the father of her kid or when to tell him, that just seems unrealistic.

The biggest issue between these two was not the secret baby, but instead Naomi being upset that she was treated like a one night stand after agreeing to be a one night stand 🙄

Oh and then at the end when she got pissed and threw a tantrum because Jonah didn't tell her she was going to lose her job, meanwhile she's been keeping this huge secret from him.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Four years ago, Naomi and Jonah had a one-night stand, leaving her pregnant. Now, he's the new consultant brought in by her obnoxious boss to "fix" their troubled real estate firm. She's angry, and at first he doesn't remember her -- but the sparks are still flying between the two.

So, parts of this book are great. I like the premise of the book, and the dynamic between Naomi and Jonah is mostly good. However, the two repeatedly have sex at work, during the middle of the work day, when they could get caught, and think nothing of it. This bothers me, because especially in our sexist society, if they had gotten caught, Naomi (as the subordinate and the female) would have born the brunt of the scandal.

Otherwise, I liked the book.

They really enjoyed their jobs.

They really enjoyed their jobs and not the secret baby. They were at work more than they spent time with the little boy. We were told they did things with him but a lot of the time they were having sex or working.

I had an hard time understanding this story, because it is entirely about their relationship. But there is a child involved that is hardly being mentioned and that is especially weird because it is his son which he doesn’t know about.

If a was only reading from his point of view I could understand but we not and she never even things about telling him not even when they meet or they get more serious. It made it hard to understand her and feel sorry for her a mean in the begging of the book I could see her not telling him but as it was nearing the end it felt more and more off.

When the book is almost over then the truth is revealed to him and it was so short of an argument that it fell a bit flat.
Outside from that a really liked their connection to each other it was really cute and romantic but especially steamy.

The story had potential but unfortunately it didn’t really work for me.

First of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jolie Day's talented writing style which is book crack, so it really hurts me to give Billionaire BOSS: Secret Baby 4 stars. Alright, here goes nothing. Naomi has the night of her life with a dude named Jonah, who took her virginity, and that's that, only it's not. Fast forward 4 years later, and Naomi comes across Jonah when he walks into the company she works at to see why it's losing money, and he has no clue who she is. That's strike one for me. She's a single mother of a super cute tiny human, and she's keeping it on the down low who the father is, (it's not a spoiler since it's part of the title). Despite Jonah seeing his kid, he never once sees the resemblance to him, which is strike two, (I mean how the hell is he so successful when he can't do simple math or even pay enough attention to details). She's not naming names either, which I understood though it's kind of sketchy since secrets don't make friends. Jonah starts pursuing her, and their chemistry leads them to lots of sexy times which irritated me to no end. Finally feelings are being caught, and Jonah strikes out when he makes some very questionable douchey decisions leading Naomi to finally get a backbone to end things. I never once warmed up to Jonah because he was every colorful metaphor name in my bag, so yeah, I'm very upset that this is where I am, but it is. That doesn't mean any of you feel the same, so hit that one click button to form your own opinion! In the meantime, the writing was still very addictive that I kept reading in one sitting (hoping for some things to change for me) so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Our heroine had a one night stand with a guy and is then furious to find the guy gone the next morning. Isn't that the point of one night stands? Anyway, the outrage seemed stupid considering they'd just met and barely knew each other. Also, there's a secret baby who only meets her father in the final act of the book. Wtf.

Meh

First, there is no billionaire in the story. Instead the H is a wealthy businessman. I was really hoping for more in this story, as I love a secret pregnancy but this just missed the mark on so many levels.

The main characters had good chemistry but there was just too many unbelievable scenarios and the story itself was lacking.

Naomi had a one night stand with Jonah and when she wakes up the next morning, he’s gone. Imagine her surprise when he walks into her workplace. The worst thing, he doesn’t remember her. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I loved all of these characters and I especially loved the ending.

Second book by Jolie Day I listen to (audiobook). They’re fine for quick reads when you’re too lazy to pick up a book physically, but I found some parts of this one really nonsensical. What I like about her books, though, is the fact that her main characters are curvy women, which are a minority in romance books.

This was a simple sweet romance; light and easy to read. The characters were likeable enough, but you don't get a lot of depth. There is no real intensity of emotion! There were a couple of issues/inconsistencies, that didn't make sense...such as:

Why are two adults still living with Mom and/or Dad? I can understand the, h to an extent. She's a single Mom who helps support her parents; they help with her son; and they are all just barely surviving. But the H lives with his retired Dad (or his Dad lives with him, we're never told who owns the house); his Mom died when he was young. Considering the H was previously married and divorced, and a billionaire (?) to boot, why would he be living with Daddy? We're never given any reason.

And that's another thing, he's supposed to be a billionaire (according to the title), but nothing in this story supports that fact. Instead, it suggests the opposite. At first, you're given the initial impression that he OWNs the consulting firm (he's CEO). You think okay...he owns and runs a huge successful consulting firm in NY. But then you get a few little things that lead you to believe the consulting firm is not that big of success yet. Rather it is on the brink of being a major player/success. Later we discover it's not even HIS company, just one he runs. (He quits at the end...you don't quit a company you own, you sell it maybe, but not quit.) And okay, so he's CEO and CEO's of major corporations can earn in the millions...but Billions? Not likely, and he's not old enough to have earned billions investing. And if he was a billionaire (or even a multi-millionaire), why was he so cautious when starting his own business? Why the need to start small, then expand slowly, cautiously because he didn't want to "risk all his savings"? Really? Would a billionaire (or even multi-millionare ) worry about his savings? At best he's well off...drives a Lexus and a motorcycle, has a nice house; but nothing in this story intimates he's billionaire status, other than the title, and honestly....not even millionaire status is applicable. It's almost as if the author wasn't sure who her characters were or she forgot. She'd have done better leaving the Billionaire out of the title.

Another thing, the h is a virgin when she first encounters the H. You assume, as she was still a virgin and had never had time for relationships, that she wasn't on birth control pills when she hooked up with the H the first time. Why else did she end up pregnant? But then some time after they'd reconnected (4 yrs later) when she finally tells him the kid is his, we get a "but you said you were on the pill? ", and she replies something about the pill not always working. Mind you, whether or not she was on the pill, was never asked, discussed or even mentioned at their first encounter. And come on....99% effective and first time??? It would have been more believable if she hadn't been on the pill and he'd just assumed she was and she didn't think about protection due to her lack of experience and excitement.

In spite of those things, and if you go into this with the perception the H is just a very comfortably, well off guy, then as I said, it's simply a sweet love story. Think of this one as a "palette cleanser" or mind/heart cleanser. You know, something you might read after you've just finished one of those stories that was so intense, so emotional you felt like you were on a roller coaster, but you didn't want it to end and now you have a book hangover and just aren't ready for another book because you're not ready to leave the characters yet. This story will clear your mind and heart without leaving any residue so you'll be ready to move on for the next emotional roller coaster read.

3 Stars for me!

My rating range of this story... 2.5 - 3.5 Stars
If significant, why?

Main Character Ratings...
H = 7
h = 4

Was cheating involved? No
Any major triggers to be aware of?

Scenes with heat... Yes
What point does it start? 10%
How much of the story? 30%
Anything beyond M/F? No
If yes, explained

Heat Rating... 7/10

Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? Close as there was quite a bit.

The back story... The MCs meet in a bar and agree to a one night stand! He leaves before she wakes up and they don't see each other again for 4 years, when he walks into her office.

The Romance... Starts out as instalust, then insta-rough. It does develop but difficult to see past the lust.

The drama explosion... The h freaks out on the H for something outside of his control.

Did it feel real or contrived? Contrived
Was it OTT? OTT
Separation involved? Yes
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Ok

Final Notes... The h is super angry because he left after a one night stand then gets angrier when he doesn't recognize her 4 years later... Not sure why she was angry as that is a one night stand.

She is also angry when he doesn't tell her everything immediately yet she was keeping a much bigger secret.

It is a cute story and I did enjoy it but the h acted too much like an 18 year old. I did enjoy how everything ended.

Not what I expected

Jonah and Naomi, we're not together during the love scenes. But that's where the interest in the book ends. Jonah and Naomi slept together four years ago she was a virgin. It was a one night stand. When she woke up the next morning in the hotel, she was alone. He left her, with no more or cell #. Fast forward four years later. Jonah shows up at her job, where he's their new consultant. To add insult to injury, he didn't even remember her. And to make things worse she's raising their son alone. Jonah has no idea that he's a father, until the end of the story. Little Timmy looks like Jonah. He's been to their apartment in several occasions and saw Timmy who is now four years old. And not once did Kinston notice the resemblance between them, not did he do the math. He's the only one she slept with four years ago. She was a virgin. He never once out two and two together. And the title of the book is " Billionaire Boss", but in the story he was just another CEO Consultant that has some money, no where near a billion, maybe some millions, if that much. The story was not thorough with the details at all. They did not show any interactions between Jonah and Timmy as father and son. The only interactions that was going on was between Jonah and Naomi having lots of hot sex.

Naomi and Jonah shared a night together and three years later they meet again when he is hired as a consultant at her office. She is pissed that he just vanished in the middle of the night, after taking her virginity and not even leaving a note. When they meet again he cannot even remember her name, yet she couldn't have forgotten him as their night left her with a steadily growing reminder of him in the form of her son Timmy. They go on to have a steamy office romance and I liked how their romantic relationship developed beyond that. Jonah was not the asshole dude I thought he'd be in the start and showed himself to have very considerate sides quite fast.

While we have scenes of Jonah meeting Timmy, I wish we could've gotten more of it. The book focused more on the romance plot than on the Secret Baby part, which I expected to play a bigger part since the book is even titled that way.

A cute, quick read.
I enjoyed this story.
Jonah and Naomi.
They shared one night together four years ago. No last names, no contact information, and he snuck out in the middle of the night. Five weeks later, an unexpected surprise. She’s pregnant. Now he’s shown up to fix the mess that is the real estate company she works for. Soon he’s the new boss, the feelings they shared are stronger than ever, and she doesn’t know how to tell him he’s the father of her young son.
I liked both of these main characters.
Naomi was a woman who carried a lot on her shoulders. She’s a single mom, who lives with and provides for her older parents. Her dad is disabled. They live on her salary and the little her mom brings in as a seamstress. They all share a tiny two bedroom apartment. But she does it all with a smile on her face.
Jonah was raised by his father. His mother passed away when he was young. His dad was strict, but loved him in his own way. They didn’t have a lot growing up, but they weren’t lacking anything. He’s built his reputation as a corporate fixer. Every dollar he has, he’s earned by working hard, sometimes too hard. That was what ultimately ended his marriage. Too many hours at the office.
It was a good book. I really enjoy this authors writing style. The story flowed nicely, kept my attention. The side characters were great, added a lot in their brief appearances.
A complete standalone. It’s told in dual points of view. No cheating, no cliffhanger. Relatively little drama. And a happy ending.

This is a wonderful secret baby story about Naomi, a young woman who was minding her own business in a bar and in comes one hot, sexy undeniable man, Jonah. They end up having a one exceptional night where she gives him her virginity and Jonah leaves before the next morning. Four years later Naomi is a single mother and one day at work, in walks Jonah the man sent as a consultant to figure out why Mayfair Realty is losing money and he does not recognize her. Naomi is not very nice to Jonah and gives him short and sometimes rude replies and Jonah can not put his finger on why her reaction to him is so negative. Jonah does what he can to bridge their working relationship and Naomi fights it until it comes out why she is so resistant to Jonah and to say he is surprised they shared one night together and his memory brings that one special night back. They start a relationship and things are going good until Jonah makes a judgement call and Naomi ends their relationship. After some cooling off Naomi ends up telling Jonah that he is a father and how they work out this news makes this a beautiful love story to remember! Naomi's new boss is the man she had an unforgettable (in more ways than one) encounter with. Unfortunately for her, he doesn't remember her. Thank God she never told him she had a beautiful reminder of that night, right?

Oh my...this one isn't exactly unforgettable unfortunately. It's standard issue but with two characters that don't stand out. I still can't believe he never figured out her son was his. How did he get to be a billionaire if he couldn't figure this one thing out? Though there's steam, there's not much else to the story. I wanted more development of the characters AND the story. There's potential for something good here, but it's not reached.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JOY RIDE😍😍

Oh my. This one was steamy and made me smile and laugh and so much more. Ahhhhhh....... I FREAKING loved this journey with Jonah and naomi.
Right from page 1 I was hooked like crazy, couldn't turn the pages fast enough. But I devoured this book and loved every second of it. Both Naomi and Jonah are the type of people I adore. Naomi doesn't back down but yet is a responsible person and Jonah is both cocky and good hearted.
He values people and really cares about others.
What starts as a one night stand and then reconnecting in a office environment escalates quickly as both of them are enable to keep their hands off each other. Did I say this book as steamy like will melt your kindle off kinda steamy. Oh my....some of the scenes where Jonah just seduces and takes Naomi was 😍🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Also just the feels of the books so freaking made me feel good and happy and of course *fanning myself *moments too.
I'm so rereading this one again. Also I loved the author's writing and I'm so checking out her each and every book. Loved loved this one.💖💖💖💖💖

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book by Jolie Day.
D.C Cole did an incredible job at recounting this story for All the characters and both Male and Female parts.
Jonah and Naomi's Romance is a second chance/secret baby/Office romance.
After a one night stand and waking up alone Naomi finds herself pregnant.
Fast forward 4 years and Jonah strolls casually back into her life again at the company where she works and he does not recognise her and she hates him instantly.
But also she is still incredibly attracted to him,and she can't seem to hide both her hatred and her desire for him.
Jonah feels exactly the same and loves vexing her and messing with her emotions,he wants her.Imagine the surprise when he discovers they have met before.
I loved this story it was so amusing at times and the banter between them was fantastic.
It was also riveting and sexy and I could not stop listening.
Jolie Day always writes such endearing stories that are equal amounts of Romance and steam and I could not get enough.
Brilliant.
Loved it and Highly recommend this Audiobook it is so good.
5 Stars.
