Three friends. Two sisters. One agreed marriage. What could possibly go wrong?
Jacob, Mary and Ruby had been friends forever. When Jacob and Ruby’s betrothal is announced, they couldn’t be happier. They begin planning a future together, falling in love a little more with every passing season, neither of the two realizing Mary’s unhappiness.
Mary plots a deceitful plan to break up the young sweethearts… and succeeds. Jacob is furious, Ruby is heartbroken but neither realize that they have been fooled by Mary. When Ruby’s parents decide it’s best to send her away to recover from the heartache, Mary grabs the chance to finally have Jacob to herself.
At first Ruby struggles to find her feet in the new town. But Ruby soon learns that there is more to life than just love. She begins baking for a bakery in town and even though she doesn’t want to fall in love again, she can’t deny her attraction to the bakery owner.
Will Ruby and Jacob ever learn of Mary’s deceit? Can Ruby find love again or will her whole world fall apart when the truth is revealed? This is a sweet Amish romance tainted with deceit, jealousy and the power of forgiving. Enjoy the story as Ruby tries to rebuild her life in the hopes of one day finding true love.
Good story of jealousy and deceit on the part of one sister over the other. Mary allowed her the green eyed monster of jealousy to overcome all that she knew to be right. Jacob , Ruby and Mary are a threesome from childhood, but then their parents make an arranged marriage between Jacob and one of the girls. Trouble! Mary is jealous and schemes to break the engagement thinking she can convince Jacob that it is she he loves. this is a story of love, lies, jealousy, broken hearts and lack of trust. With all that going on, how could there possibly be any happiness?
What is Ruby Regret - read this terrific book to find ouy
Such an awesome story, i could not stop reading. I just had to find out how this story would end. I was so mad at Jacob and wanted to see if Ruby would be too. Just fell in love with Aunt Elizabeth. Thank you for the epilogue - I truly appreciate it. I do not like it when authors just basicly say they married & the end. This book was beautifully written - thank you❤
This story speaks to the sorrow of what jealousy can do to a family. It explains that being jealous of a family member can lead to lies that effectively alters the closeness of the family. The lies hurt everyone involved and a lesson to be learned. The author did an excellent job of explaining how jealousy can destroy lives.
What a wonderful ending to the tumultuous relationship between two sisters, during which they both learn and grow up. I couldn’t put this book down, and the writer took care to tie up all loose ends to finish the book. I feel totally satisfied with this Amish book.
The book was pretty good but it always bothers me when names are switched like when they talk about Rubys deceit but it was her sister Mary and at the end of the book Daniel’s name is switched to David in one line. I know it is the publishing that could be at fault but it is annoying.
Oh what a tangled web...It is a story well told, Few people consider the end result of a lie, and indeed, lies are usually spur of the moment, not an insidious plan. I did notice, in at least two places, author transposed the main characters, Mary and Ruth, and it's a bit confusing. But, still, a story well done.
I absolutely loved this book. Mary’s deception about her sister Ruby and the fact Jacob Ruby‘s fiancé believed the lies made an interesting read. This book is about trust and forgiveness. God’s perfect plan for these people.
PRECIOUS and NHEARTWARMING. UNFORGETABLE and UPLIFITING!!!.
I would recommend this book to young women considering life changes of any kind. Very Spiritually Motivating . Great writing and another 🎁 from this gifted Writer.
I've enjoyed reading this story, Ruby's Regret, written by Hannah, the story was a great bit of sadness and a lesson in love. Sometimes lessons are learned the hard way, how would Ruby's be?
I love all ur books they brink smiles love sadness, happiness to my heat
I love these books it brings some of the past back to me & the easy life I had growing up I mean the simple things like no phones, electronics these new dangle things we have in our homes
I started not to like the story. I was going to give it a much lower rating. Forgetfulness does not seem to be an Amish quality. However as the story evolved Hannah Schrock's came through with a wonderful ending.
Just like Job, when one looses something, by trusting God, one usually will receive better than they had before! Great story. Couldn't put the story down.
I couldn't put it done. I read at night before I say my prayers and go.to bed. Your story was heartbreaking yet wonderful. I can't wait.to read.more of your books.☺☺
The jealousy Mary has toward her sister, Ruby and Jacob almost ruins her entire family as well as Jacob' s and Ruby's love for each other. Ruby's loving forgiveness saves this family in the end.
What a Great book I absolutely loved this book Hannah you never disappoint me in you books It was a book of forgiveness , love such a great read I loved this book.
This sweet little story had me filled up with tears several times in the story. I was so captured, I read it in ONE sitting. Can’t wait to read the next one...
Good reading. Ending was not what you would have guessed which made it better. Once started could not put it down. Sibling rivalry is very abundant in life
