Bestselling author of clean and sweet Pride and Prejudice variation books, Bella Breen's books feature Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. She first fell in love with Pride and Prejudice in highschool and again with the BBC mini series. Colin Firth will forever be the perfect Mr. Darcy. Today she brings her fantasies to life for every fan of Mr. Darcy.
She was born in Missouri, then moved to Iowa in grade school and finally settled in South Dakota which reminds her of the English countryside, if you squint and ignore the harsh winters and humid summers. Her favorite animals are cats, corgis and horses. When she's not writing you can find her walking in nature, cross stitching, reading, antique hunting and practicing calligraphy.
The three stories are well-written and edited. The storylines are enjoyable but did not not exhibit a lot of emotional depth. Each was based on a specific event: attempted murder, identifying a sociopath, forced marriage. The plots were obvious in the first chapters and had no surprises. The first two were mostly presented in a matter of fact way. The third, Forced Marriage, has more attention given to the relationship of Darcy and Elizabeth, but not a great deal.
Overall, there are no major complaints about the set other than lack of depth. The books are okay but I don’t plan to read them again and am glad I have KU.
Taking a classic tale and changing a few details provides a wonderful options to develop stories. I enjoyed the first two books sharing the same plot premise. The mystery of who the guilty party was and their reasoning was very engaging. It was refreshing to see characters portrayed perhaps “differently” than usual. The last novel was a fun twist. Watching Lizzy and Darcy begin the marriage in a less than romantic way provided great spin off opportunities for new dialogue and humbling realization of truths. As a P & P fan, I thoroughly enjoyed reading these variations.
I loved the depth of emotion in all three of the stories in this book. I will never look at a cow without laughing again. Darcy and Elizabeth were great. I loved how Miss Anne De Bourgh was portrayed. Fantastic job. The Forced to Marry is exceptional. Please give a read well worth it
The 1st book was good the 2nd book was melodramatic and not very good Lizzy scared of hearing something Darcy indecisive No not really. The 3rd book is good but not great . I will not rush to volume 2
I love a mystery and this set was a good one.the way poison and secrets ran together naked great reading. I truly your them. I'm also a forced to marry fan.
