Love. Death. Power. When all these words are marked on Cassandra’s soul, can she really save anyone?

Cassandra has finally escaped the king, only to find herself in the middle of the rebels and a war that she is meant to be the leader of. When the changed ones of the mountains go to war, Cassandra and her pirates have to travel across the seas to the mermaids who are the only ones that can help.
But what is the price of the mermaid’s help?

War is whispered, much like the Sea god whispers to Cassandra, but no one speaks the ending.
Can death be the only winner?

As a series, this was a good one.

G. Bailey seems to get better with each series. While I liked her Winter's Guardian series, this one was a little better.

With the first book, we got a great introduction to the series. Book two was the juicy middle and the third book wrapped the series up nicely.

What really made this series unique was that even though Cassandra was the main female character, she was not the one who became Queen. I loved that concept and it was really done well.

This is the conclusion of the series - Cassandra reunites with her pirates and the army they have been accumulating to battle the King. She must follow the directions of the Sea God and obtain a crown from the mermaids and also Queen must be killed before they have any chance against the King. While in the stronghold of the army, she learns to use her powers and she has lots of sex with her pirate chosen.

Meh. This was a bit anticlimactic - the battle was over in a few paragraphs. Yes, Cassandra gets her HEA, but I just don't understand why an author would write 3 books leading up to such an abrupt end. It is unsatisfying, leading me to wonder if this was G. Bailey's first series?? It has an immaturity to it.
I've only read one other by her and it was much better.

I enjoyed this series, though I will say by book 3 I was pushing my way to finish it. I had to remind myself sometimes that there were 6 pirates, because really - we only got to know 4, and I really thrive on character development (I need someone to crush on), so this was a disappointing flaw in this series.

Cassandra barely lived to escape the king; rescued by the sea god, she makes a deal. She must kill the king. Returned to her pirates she finds herself revered as the people's savior, the Chosen One who will save the world with the help of the rebel army. But first, she must follow the path of the sea god's riddle. She must visit the mermaids to retrieve the magical crown that will give her enough power to face down the king. She must also commit an evil act of mercy. An act that may destroy her soul and her relationship with two of her pirates. It's the only way. Then she must put the true Queen on the throne. Time is running out but if she wants a future of peace with her pirates she cannot fail.

Save the Sea is the conclusion to the story of Cass and her pirates, Hunter, Ryland, Jacob, Dante, Chaz, and Zach. It's the culmination of the fight against the king, the battle to make the Chosen One's safe, and to save the land and sea. Cass comes into her own as the most powerful Chosen One with the love of her bonded. The Pirates continue to be awesome. The war storyline was solid but I enjoyed Cass's time with the pirates more. I didn't feel that there was enough time to truly enjoy each Pirate but I have no complaints about the encounters we did get. Hunter and Ry started out as my favorites and this never changed. These twins are Pirate Perfection. Everly continues in her role of increasing importance. We get the introduction of the Chosen Masters and the mermaids. The mermaids added drama but I wasn't sure about the Masters. It felt like something was missing; their introduction felt important but their significance to the story seemed minimal.

Everything was wrapped up nicely by the ending with a nice little glimpse into the future. I had promised myself that I would skip the prologue and was much happier doing so. I am not a fan of this author's tendency to take a pivotal moment close to the end and start off with it. To me, it diminishes the suspense. This was the right choice for me and I will continue skipping her prologues in future books. A spin-off story was set up that should be equally entertaining. I admit I was a tiny bit disappointed overall. The series never matched the excellence of book one. It felt rushed after that. I missed the time spent with Cass and each Pirate talking, getting closer. Still, it was a nice conclusion for these wonderful characters.

Overall the whole series was an enjoyable, fast read. I still have a little trouble reconciling the character changes Cass went through from the first book to the last book, but I think it was because to me the books all seemed to really rush the plot line which was really interesting and I would have loved for the author to maybe have dragged it out a bit more. I know "said no one ever" except me this one time... World building wise I thought the author did a great job. I never had any problems staying "in" the world, the story itself was really good.

Character building wise though all the characters seemed fleshed out just fine, I could not wrap my head around the depth of feelings in such a short time, even with the whole fated soul mates concept. I know the author used this as an explanation but it just seemed way too unreal, I mean we barely even skimmed our males personalities.

What was most frustrating for me especially in the last book here because that seems to be where the whole story line revolves, the deal with the Sea God, is that the riddle deal needed no work or solving by our characters. Everything fell into place so conveniently and it really added to the very anticlimactic end battle. It felt so rushed and lacking to me because its like someone just gave them the win. I immediately recognized that a spinoff was coming for Ev especially after that very rushed negotiation with the mermaids.

I really feel like in this series for sure G. Bailey had all the bones for an epic fantasy romance, but it fell a tiny bit short with the lack of details and the rushed plot. Either way the series was enjoyable and definitely worth reading. I may even check back and see how Ev is doing!

Nice conclusion

How can you not like a book with super hot pirates? Cassandra's six pirates are all so sweet and sexy and the smug scenes are well written. I like the mythology behind the story as well, with the sea God and the chosen. The story moved pretty quickly which made it easy to get through. I really liked the dragon and seeing the different powers people had. And there's a spin off for Everly which makes me happy!

This was such a great ending for an amazing series! I don’t want it to end 😭 The ending tied everything up into a neat little bow. There was nothing left hanging or any unanswered questions.

Plot
I really liked the idea of the changed one’s little community. But it wasn’t as big of a part in the overall story as I would have wanted it to be. What about the purple eyed master Cass has a bad feeling about? There could have been something there. Then it mentioned a traitor in the maintain once, then it was never mentioned again. And when Cassandra killed the king it was kind of anticlimactic. Three books to build up to this moment and she just throws a wall of water at him. That’s it. I was expecting more. Despite all of this, I really loved this book. I loved seeing Cassandra’s and her pirates’ relationships grow.

Characters
Cassandra- She was a kick ass, humble, and determined heroine. I loved how she wanted to prove herself to the changed ones that she is who they think she is when she was told she was a master. The only think that really irked me was

Everleigh- I didn’t really like her at the beginning. It was obvious that she was the true heir, and that she knew she was the one. And yet she kept it from Cassie and let her talk about finding the true heir when she was right in front of her! But she redeemed herself when she agreeded to marry the mermaid king. Don’t know if I want to read her story though. I want to know what happens with Tyrion.

Her Pirates- As always the pirates were hot, sweet, and protective. I loved seeing more of them. The sed scenes weren’t to graphic or long, but just long enough. Their reactions to were amazing. Especially Jacob in the epilogue. I really want to see how that all turns out. I’m gonna miss the sexy pirates.

Save the sea

A good ending to this trilogy. Fast paced (maybe a little rushed?), with a very sweet HEA. The spin off sounds good too.

Characters

I totally fell in love with this series and the conclusion was so cool that it left me saying awww. She is such an awesome heroine that I couldn't wait to find out what next. The chosen men I'm just saying wow. I liked that the next will be a spin-off and hopefully we will check in on Cassandra. The biggest thing I want to comment on is that the characters were not the central theme. They were there but it didn't make the book. The suspense of the plot and what was going to happen next with the sea God was the main part for me.

What an ending to the series. The conclusion of the story for Cass and her guys, although not the end from this world as there is still one person's story to be concluded.

We get to meet the mermaids in this book and there's a surprise in store there. I would've liked to see more of the mermaids world but I think we'll get to see that in the next series. I have to admit that I did feel this book was a bit rushed in places and I would've been happier to read a longer book with some of the scenes extended into more detail. That didn't stop me enjoying the book though but I did feel a little let down when some scenes were whipped through. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed reading Save the Sea and thought it was the perfect ending for this story line. There were a few unforeseen surprises along the way but it all fit into the story.

I'm looking forward to reading the spin off series as I've loved the world the author has created and feel that we could have a series set on each of the islands which I would happily read.

I loved, loved this conclusion to the Pirates series. Cassandra has been a favorite character for me because of her spunk, how smart she is, loyalty, independence, she is so stubborn and loves with all of her heart. She does what is right and to protect those she loves. Her relationship with each of her guys is so strong, and loving. The dynamic with them is what gives Cass strength and helps push her to succeed. As always with a G. Bailey read, there are twists and turns. A "where did that come from" or "I did not see that coming" or "Oh I see the connection now" is always present in a story. Gem always has a purpose for everything that happens, whether it sets it up for future books, or reveals small details that becomes huge plot lines. It is one of the reasons I enjoy her books so much. And Save the Sea is no exception. Full of action, love, strength of character and Cassandra's struggle to Save the Sea. Can I also say that I loved the Epilogue, just a perfect conclusion to all of their sacrifices and strength of love.

So excited that we are getting a spin off with Everleigh. Heir is coming soon which will be called the Mermaid's and God's series.

Alright the first two were mildly entertaining because I got to roast the shit out of them. It got old in this book.

Cassandra is a grade A idiot. I considered making a shelf called "protagonist - idiot" just for her.

This book had no redeeming qualities. All the characters regressed and gave up what little personality they had to become 2D caricatures - OP heroine, juiced-up best friend, protective husband(s). Idiocy abounds. It took them 6 pages to resolve the entire conflict of the series. LAME.

Oh, also. There were a couple chances for this book to pass the Bechdel test, but it failed miserably. (Cassandra's conversations with Riah, Everly, and Wynn).

mc spent with pirates one week, they all fell for each other already
then she was abducted and spent couple weeks away from them in king’s prison, that’s her great trauma
then she blacked out for a year which was like a day for her

so when she returns to her pirates and they immediately propose to her i’m shocked because a) she spent with them 2 weeks maximum b) they haven’t seen her for a year and it’s a first thing they do??

also when she gives herself a pep talk like “i am smarter then i was at king’s” i say hell noo bc for her it was literally yesterday when she fell from that cliff

it’s like the author had this great idea for a series with big potential but didn’t know how to make it into the books. everything feels rushed like i’m reading a detailed summary but not a fantasy book with a complicated world

also they are these super sexy and handsome pirates who are visiting a lot of islands but they shockingly were saving themselves and cassandra were their first - wtf

and my favorite i think - she’s just turned 18 but she’s already has 6 chosen husbands , the strongest powers in the world which she doesn’t know how to use (and learns to use in a day) and the war is coming tomorrow and she’s very close with the main god😀😀😀

pregnancy trope is just a cherry on top

A brilliant conclusion to an amazing series.

*Includes spoilers*

This book is full of drama, danger and intrigue. The characters are still as amazing as they have been throughout the series. Cassandra is still a tough MC, brave and stubborn and strong willed. She's a great MC! The pirates are all very charming and lovable. They were easy to fall in love with.
The story line is interesting and unique. I loved reading the journey the characters embarked on. The emotions were genuine throughout the series and didn't feel at all forced. I would have liked the war scene to be a little longer. As bad as his crimes were, I'd have liked there to be more to the King's demise. I feel like it was too short lived after all her put Cassie and the Pirates through. That being said, I did truly think it was a great read. It was an excellent addition to a brilliant series.

I'm sad to see the series end but am very much looking forward to Everleigh's spin off series! I need more pirates and Gods of Souls and mermaids and all that jazz!! Five stars gladly given and would 100% recommend.

Rushed like all the others

This series has truly been written as a short story. Every single event (every one) in this book and the rest were no more than 1-4 pages long. A series of snippets in the tale. The build-up had some mild momentum, but the results were so anticlimactic. It was over with very little show in like a paragraph. The mermaids encounter was understated, especially if they will play a bigger role in the spin-off. This was just poorly written, little development that wowed me, and entirely too rushed. Even Cassandra's "secret" was glossed over in a paragraph and the epilogue.
Ugh! I read this so I can feel some closure. This series had so much potential but completely missed its mark in every single book. It really deserves a 2/5 stars for the poor writing, but because the story was mildly entertaining I gave it a 3/5.
Overall series is also a 3/5. Not sure I would recommend this unless you like small fluff reading.

My Review: As with the previous books in this series, I really like the world that has been created and the magic system; however, the story is very disjointed. I also found that I didn't connect with a single character, we didn't get to know them very well and were constantly hopping between the pirates so didn't get time to really find what distinguishes each of them. The story was so start and stop because of the awkward romantic interludes at times when there were urgent matters to attend. I also found it rather unbelievable that the naive and sheltered girl can suddenly step into a leadership role, she is also suddenly able to seduce with confidence and ease. The supposed twists and surprises were rather predictable. All in all, if some of the romance had been left out and we just stuck with a strictly fantasy story I would have enjoyed this so much more, that or it needed a whole lot more fleshing out to allow for the romance.

Review of whole series.

I bought the paperbacks of these books from the author themselves and I don’t regret that. I kind of feel like I have to start out with that, especially when it’s for my three star reviews because I know I tend to focus on the negative aspects than the good ones.

I honestly think this bookseries (and I will review them as a book series) could’ve benefited from being longer. It’s not that often I will say that, since I read a lot of fantasy books and authors just love to drag every single element out. But this series is three books of about 250 pages. There is so much going on in those pages. From wanting to develop a relationship with all the love interests to actually having to build the world to the actual quest / adventure. For me it’s especially the last element that suffered from having too little time to write it out. The whole series came across as a bit rushed, which is sad because I find the world building quite fascinating.

This was a great series, I love that it was a slow burn and that the heroine wasn't overly trusting of people. I like that she was suspicious of the pirates too and, to my surprise, had some common sense like when she was first on the ship. It's really great that they were sweet too, though I wish there was more time with the pirates. There are a few things that needs questioning though, like why did Cassandra not trust Master Igor? He didn't show up in the council room and then there's Livvy. I don't see any reson why the king would've lied about what happened to her. Also, who's Evelyn's and Riah's dad really is. I don't like reading series where the main character is changed, I usually try to avoid those, but yeah I feel like that would all get explained in her spin-off. I'd like to know if Evelyn's okay though, and would love to see more of Riah.

Save the Sea is the perfect thrilling conclusion to the Saved by Pirates trilogy.

Picking up right where book 2 left off, this story follows Cassy and her Pirates as they are reunited after a year apart. Having made her deal with the Sea God to save the land and the sea, Cassy now knows how to defeat the evil King. They must travel to the land of the mermaids to get what the king has hidden and meet his army in the final war. Sacrifices must be made, but their victory will bring a new life for everyone.

Cassy's strength shows no bounds in this conclusion as she prepares to risk everything to save her world. I loved seeing more of her best friend Everly and understanding her greater role to play in this story.

Saved by Pirates is a great series full of adventure, sacrifice, and love. This final book in Cassy's story was the perfect conclusion to an exciting trilogy!

Score: 9/10
Would reread: yes

In this book, even more than in the previous ones, I felt like the timing and length of scenes were a bit weird. It kept jumping between scenes and then there were these preparations for important scenes just for them to be short and hasty.

Plot-wise, I must say they fit so much in one of the smallest installments in the series. With the deal made and the riddle in place, I would have thought that Cassandra would have to run around a bit more than she actually had to.

I was pleasantly surprised by Everly’s role in the book

Love this series!

I was so happy to get this book because I have missed Cassandra and her pirates (especially Hunter), but at the same time so sad to come to the end of the story. And, trust me, Ms. Bailey did not disappoint!

Cass is back and reconnecting with her pirates to assure them she won't disappear on them again. The love that they have for each other is a beautiful thing.

She needs to learn to control her powers, meet with the Masters of the mountain, check in with Everly and also figure out how to complete the deal with the Sea God.

All the secrets are laid bare, the course set and the final battle ensues. Add in a couple happy surprises and this was a great ending to Cass's story.

But...I'm sure we'll catch up with her again soon! 😉😉
