அணிந்துரையிலிருந்து...எது இலக்கியம்? எது இலக்கியமில்லை என்ற சண்டைகளுக்குள் செல்லாமல், பிரதீப் ஒரு விசயத்தை அழுத்தமாகப் பதிவு செய்து இருக்கிறார். எதை எழுத வேண்டும், தன் கதைகள் எதைப் பேச வேண்டும் என்கிற தெளிவு அவருக்கு இருக்கிறது. இந்தச் சிறுகதை தொகுப்பில் இருக்கும் கதைகள் பேசுவது, தற்கால வாழ்வியல் குறித்தே! குறிப்பாக, ஐடி துறையின் எழுச்சிக்கு பிறகு நிகழ்ந்த மாற்றங்களை, நடுத்தர குடும்பத்தில் அது ஏற்படுத்திய தாக்கங்களைப் பிரதீப் படம் பிடித்துக் காட்டி இருக்கிறார். கிராமங்களிலிருந்து படித்து, வேலைக்கு வரும் இளைஞர்களின் வாழ்வை பேசி இருக்கிறார். இக்கால இளைஞர்களின் சிந்தனை போக்குகளை அழகான உரையாடல்கள்மூலம் வெளிப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார்.

Not short stories..
Finishing this book was long due. Some how managed to complete it.. Good read..
But it has no grammar of short stories. Its kind of an experience breif along with fictional or realistic characters. But the author conveyed what he had to. Very common thread which connect all the stories is Social justice and Dravidian ideology. He could make a point in every story without fail. The short breif he gave before every story was nice. The painting were nice.
The author has good narrating skills. But he must focus more on strong story knot. The political message he wants to convey can be around. But not obvious. Good luck and my best wishes Viyan..

Appreciate the effort in coming up with stories portraying social justice. Need to bring more and more of the same. As one other reviewer said, this should become a genre. Few disappointments though, which i would obviously expect from a new author like Viyan.
1. The dialogues could have been more native to the characters and the story. Floating between the spoken and the written makes the flow little staggering.
2. Direct praises could have been avoided and still the message can be subtly passed to the reader.

Worth reading it
It is a collection of simple events of our daily life which we see in office, hotel, home, friends get-together, etc. Fun gurenteed if you are activity watching news. A good sense of humor in a perfect combination. I loved the the narration of a "What is literature" . Like this so many interesting notes will make you not to pause reading. A worth reading it.

முதல் பந்திலேயே சிக்சர்
எதையும் எதிர்பார்க்காமல் படிக்கத் தொடங்கி ஆச்சரியத்துடன் கொஞ்சம் பொறாமையும் கலந்து முடித்தேன். நீண்ட நாட்களாக இப்புத்தகத்தை படித்தது நானாக மட்டும் தான் இருக்கும். வியன் தன் எழுத்துக்காக எந்த மெனக்கெடலும் செய்து கொள்ளாமல் தன்னியல்பில் எளிதாக கூறியுள்ளார். அதுதான் அவரின் வெற்றி !! இன்னும் நிறைய எதிர்பார்க்கிறேன் நண்பா...

காலத்திற்கு ஏற்ப அருமையான கருத்துக்களை கதைவடிவில் தந்து சமூகம் எதை நோக்கி செல்ல வேண்டும் என்று கூறுங்கதைகளின் ஊடே வெளிப்படுத்தும் நூல் ஆசிரியர்க்கு நன்றி! மென்மேலும் இது போன்ற படைப்புகளை எதிர்பார்க்கிறேன். வணக்கம்!

புதியதாய் வாசிப்பை தொடங்குபவர்களுக்கானது இந்த நாளாந்தர எழுத்து. எளிமையுடனும், விறுவிறுப்புடனும் நிகழ்கால சம்பவங்களை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட குட்டி குட்டி கதைகள். ஒவ்வொரு கதையையும் பிரதிபலிக்கும் ஓவியங்கள். பள்ளி, கல்லூரி, வேலை, வெளிநாட்டு வேலை, லிவிங் டுகெதர் என எதார்த்த மனிதனின் பல பரிமாணங்களை ஆசிரியர் விளக்கியுள்ளார். அதோடு மட்டுமில்லாமல் ஒவ்வொரு நிலையிலும் நாம் முன்னேற படிகட்டுகளாய் அமைந்த சமூக திட்டங்களையும் அதை செயல்படுத்திய ஆளுமைகளையும் நன்றிகூற்ந்துள்ளார்.
