A different kind of mental illness memoir. A distraught, loving mother tries to cope with many issues, including her son's suicide, which was thought to be caused by his battle with schizophrenia. But as we are taken through the Quebec health system, the author and mother does her research and comes to a different conclusion, one that the medical profession cannot accept (and therefore take the blame). Exceptional, but a little uneven in the telling. Emotional, but not excessive. 4 stars.
