A Wild, Worth Reading Ride

I liked this more than I expected. Don't get me wrong, I've read many of Anna's books over the years and have enjoyed each, but sometimes the format didn't work for me. That said, the final installment wrapped things up exactly as I'd hoped. 💜

I love how the story of Iliya Smoak, Kenna MacTavish, and Delancey "Del" Ecker meet and start their relationship innocently-ish. In addition to plenty of sensuality and rawness, there's self-discovery and reflection, love, lust, and fantasies lived out.

There are times when this slips past an open marriage and into cheating, but the reactions are very realistic and kept me going. It really is a story of being careful what you wish for.

I would read this again. I know some of these characters show up in other books by Anna, and I LOVE it.

There are three connected trilogies that combine to create the complete series. You need to start at the beginning and read each book. They have overlapping timelines within each trilogy and add different elements to the whole.

Here are my individual reviews for each book. Happy reading! 📚💋

Touch 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Crushes and Forbidden Kisses
I really enjoyed this book. It's sweet, sensual, and a good building block for what's to come. Kenna MacTavish's new friends have accepted and encouraged her in a way that I absolutely love. Iliya Smoak and Jane have welcomed her with open arms and their genuineness is inspiring.

This guy has some sort of power if he’s got me…
-- Kenna Janice MacTavish

Watching Kenna trip all over Delancey "Del" Ecker is humorous. She's immediately enamored, before she remembers one very important, embarrassing detail. He's married to Iliya. Oopsies.... 😘🔥

There isn't any cheating, but things between the three do heat up. Misunderstandings, little touches, and dirty kisses have me looking forward to more!

Touch - Iliya's Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Desires and Distractions
Coming into this, I wasn't sure how I'd like the format as the timeline overlaps book one of the trilogy. The format isn't my favorite, but I still found it interesting and entertaining.

Delancey "Del" Ecker and Iliya Smoak have an unconventional, sometimes complicated, marriage. I admire how they accept their individual desires and want to do whatever will make their partner happy. They aren't perfect, but I do like them together.

It’s like I’m two people. The woman who loves Del more than life itself. And then woman who aches for the touch of other women.

Maybe three people, because I also can’t stop thinking about William and what he can do to my body.

-- Iliya Smoak

That said, I sense trouble on the horizon. I don't think it'll come directly from their mutual attraction to Kenna MacTavish, but it'll come all the same.

While there are sensual aspects of Iliya's POV, there are also some darker and rawer aspects with William Burgess. It's hot until it's not. I feel bad for Iliya and how she struggles with some of her desires afterwards. It's an unfortunate side effect of trying to be "normal" when you don't fit that mold.

I've read several of Anna's books over the years, and I love that the characters frequently make cameo appearances throughout. This is no exception.

Touch - Del's Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Cracks and Inspiration
Out of the gate, I love how human and realistic Delancey "Del" Ecker is shown to be. The 'try not to look but if you do, look sparingly and definitely don't touch' way he conducts himself with the high schoolers he teaches who are beginning to discover and explore their sexuality, which sometimes translates to provocative clothing and self-expression.

The cracks in his marriage with Iliya Smoak are more pronounced in his POV. Cracks that each plays a role in creating, but Amy highlights with each conversation they have. Conversations he needs to have with his wife, not an ex who likely has an agenda, if you ask me. 🤔

If Iliya was the last woman I ever had sex with, I would die a very happy man. Knowing that I’m not the same for her…it does a number on the ego.
-- Delancey "Del" Ecker

I like the attraction he has to Kenna MacTavish. It's sweet and endearing, and I'm excited to see where it goes. The inspiration he draws from his limited time with her should also be interesting to see play out.

Caress 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Mixed Signals
For as hot as things get between Iliya Smoak and Kenna MacTavish, the more time we spend with Iliya, the less I like her. At this point, I'm hoping that Delancey "Del" Ecker will leave her and start a quiet, yet happy and fulfilling life with Kenna or anyone else.

Her touch awoke something long dormant. Her caress woke up a part of me I didn’t know existed.
-- Kenna MacTavish

I do love how Kenna stands up for herself with her sister and does the right thing when it comes to communication with Del and Iliya, even if that doesn't always end well.

Caress - Iliya's Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Digging Deeper
I read this, but after the mic drop moment at the end of Kenna's POV, I kind of rushed through some scenes. I really need the story to progress at this stage instead of the overlapping timeline.

I'm trying to figure out how this ends well for all interested parties as Iliya Smoak omits important information and tells her husband, Delancey "Del" Ecker, and their potential playmate, Kenna MacTavish, so many half truths.

But Amy is out of my life; our life. I have Kenna now. Kenna will keep me away from William. Even if she’s not Amy.
-- Iliya Smoak

Her trying to use Kenna as a means of curbing her true desires for William and Amy can't end well for anyone. She's addicted to them and the pain, dominance, and degradation they provide. Her actions tell the truth. As I said in my last review, I don't think she's the right person for Kenna or Del.

I do like the interesting tidbits about not only the three primary characters but several of their family members and acquaintances that come to light throughout. And despite my unfavorable opinions of Iliya and her relationships, I really do like the story.

Caress - Del's Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - The Dam Cracks
Delancey "Del" Ecker steals the show. I definitely wouldn't kick him out of bed! It makes me question Iliya Smoak's sanity, that's for sure. 😉

I like the connection he has with Kenna MacTavish. I really want to see that bond nurtured and strengthen.

There must be something about Kenna because it didn’t take me long to come aboard to Iliya’s suggestion.

And while not entirely fair to Kenna, I do like that Del FINALLY reacts to Iliya's actions instead of just pushing his feelings aside to give his wife what she wants. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Embrace 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Kenna Gets Her Groove
Except that we will be going back several days to Iliya Smoak's POV, I loved everything about Kenna MacTavish's journey in this installment. The reflection, the adventure and realizations, the determination, and the bonding with an unlikely person. It isn't all pretty, but I love how it comes together.

If I’m honest with myself, I’d say I’m more saddened things didn’t work out with Del, than Iliya.
-- Kenna MacTavish

Iliya and Delancey "Del" Ecker don't have as much of a physical presence, but that's OK. I really hope all find their version of an HEA, even if it isn't together. That's still TBD.

Embrace - Iliya's Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - When the Cat's Away
The focus is on Iliya Smoak. *rubs hands together* When Delancey "Del" Ecker, the proverbial cat, is away, this mouse really does play. There's no denying that her playtime is varied and so crazy hot, but I also like that the conversations are mostly honest and thought provoking.

Del takes care of me. While William professes to want to take over this role, the fact is my husband takes very good care of me.

And how do I repay him?

-- Iliya Smoak

It's an interesting read, and I'm looking forward to what this means for Kenna MacTavish.

Embrace -Del's Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - The Last Stop
Delancey "Del" Ecker's final installment in this series does what I've been wanting, moves the story forward with little overlap to the two earlier books in the trilogy, and we get an HEA for at least one character. It's also a bit of an emotional ride, but I'm here for it. 😢

Maybe it was time to get what I wanted. To take control of things.
-- Delancey "Del" Ecker

Iliya Smoak and Kenna MacTavish play big roles and seeing things transition is very interesting. I really like the way this ended. It's true to each character. 💜

Complicated!!

Ok, so how does one adequately review a story that is nine books and several hundred thousand words long. First of all Anna is a great writer and an amazing storyteller. So the three stars is not about her ability but rather the story itself. I had high hopes at first that it would be an erotic story about Kenna coming out of her shell and exploring a polyamorous relationship with Del and Iliya.
But no. She took it a whole different direction. Too dark and too much cheating lying and deception for my taste. I hated the William character and was disappointed Jane didn’t get involved. Iliyas character was not likable nor was Amy. But worst of all the author took us through all the angst and turmoil to offer a resolution in the just the last few pages of the story. And I found that resolution to be incongruous and totally unsatisfying. Be warned, there is an awfully lot of self talk by all the characters. So, a generous three stars.

Wow, what a great box set. I was hooked on reading these books from the start. Meet Kenna, Iliya and Del. Kenna has been divorced for two years now and she is lonely and ready to meet someone. She meets Iliya and they hit it off. When Kenna meets Iliya's husband, they get along as well but leaves Kenna thinking she needs to run the way. Iliya and Del also find themselves second guessing themselves with Kenna. The story that unfolds in this series is an amazing journey for all three of these characters. The books are well written and will draw you in as you read along. I recommend the box set to anyone looking for a realistic, hot and sexy read about three characters looking for their HEA.

This collection contains the point of view from all three of the characters. The individual stories/books are well written and very easy to read, the only problem is that they are addictive and I for one didn’t want to put the book down for anything! Due to it being the entire collection it does take a number of hours to read, so you might want to prepare for a long read. It’s a great box set and well worth the time it takes to read all the books in it. There is steam, quite a bit of it as these 3 characters have amazing chemistry together and are navigating their relationships with each other.

A great collection but the books have many errors and needs proofreading and editing.

This compelling collection was severely marred with completely unnecessary grammatical errors, page layout distortions, and overly long repetitious segments of previous known dialogue. So disappointing as the story-line was quite believable. An author of this caliber should know, though, when to use me instead of I when referring to two people together in a sentence. That as unforgivable.

A trio embarks on a difficult journey to explore a new form of relationship. Can they make it work, or was it doomed from the start?

This nine book series is actually three sets of three, with each person providing their view as the relationship develops. This provides a fascinating view into the relationship as it develops. Will they get their HEA?

The story is very well developed, with well written characters and a understandable and realistic plot. Each of the characters has their own reasons for wanting this relationship and the chemistry is off the charts. The story develops at a good pace and keeps you wanting more. I found the story to be highly addictive, so be prepared to stay up late reading once you start. Fortunately, with all the parts contained in this collection, the next story is always close to hand.

Highly recommended.

What a series! This was entertaining and interesting as we watched the 3 main characters come together and grow, struggling to work out what makes each of them happy. The sex is hot and full on but well written. Rather than 9 books I took as more like 3 books with 3 POV.

I like how it all ended.

SUCH. A. WASTE. OF. TIME.

this whole series was way too surface and rushed. I hated the wife. I thought the third was boring as fuck. And just when I thought I liked the husband he disappointed me, too. This didn’t even feel taboo. Just cringey :/
