4 Cheez Whiz to his Brie Stars ⭐

One snarky, ballsy assistant and the heartbroken boss who needs an intervention, pronto!

My infatuation was inconvenient at best and depressing at worst.

Teagan is secretly in love with her boss Reid. Where he has been unattainable in the past, that’s all changed since he recently broke up with his long-term girlfriend. Unfortunately, the charming and polite boss has now been replaced with mopey, boozy Reid.

"I need to speak to you."

Dread trickled down my spine at her serious tone. "Can I ask what it concerns?"

"It concerns the removal of your head from your ass."

Frankly, Tegan has had enough, and in her usual no filter way, is no longer prepared to put up with it. Except it doesn’t go as planned, and she is now his temporary fake girlfriend.

Reid doesn’t recognise the man he’s become. The breakup had to happen, but he feels lost. Especially since he has a wedding in two weeks that needs to be attended. But this means facing his ex and the source of the breakup. Yet with Teagan handing him a lifeline, this could be doable.

Teagan is just holding it together. Forced to spend quality time with each other, her attraction continues to grow, but their social divide is only more noticeable. Where Reid is old money, she’s barely scraping by and it stings.

Maybe because last night had reminded me of exactly how I was valued in society. As a meth head’s daughter. As a foster kid. As a high school dropout. As a stripper. As Cheese Wiz.

By hanging out with Teagan, Reid feels invigorated. And trying to mask his attraction to his fake girlfriend is getting difficult. But as he peels away the layers, he is learning that this beautiful girl is hiding behind a tough shell. And honestly, he likes everything about her. But will she believe him?

"Wait is this real? Are you drunk?"

He moved his kisses to my neck. "Definitely not drunk. Definitely not fake."

Truthfully peeps, if you enjoy great contemporary/office romances, you need to check out The Miss Series. The third book in the series, Miss Belief didn’t disappoint. Characters that are irresistible, dialogue that is amusing and romance that is alive and well and darn sexy! I enjoy anything Aubrey Bondurant publishes.

Confidence is sometimes an illusion…

I always thought that confidence was attached to people with good looks and money. If I only weighed 10 kgs less and had lots of money, I was convinced I’d be bouncing with confidence. I lost the 10+ kgs (but unfortunately nobody handed me a million dollars) and I’m surprised that I’m still exactly the same person. Why is it we assume that good looks with a perfect body equal confidence? Why is it we assume wealthy people are satisfied with their life because they don’t have to worry about paying bills? Good looking people can be shy and suffer from insecurity. Rich people may be confident in paying their bills now but may not be as certain in their future wealth. Sometimes, wealth and good looks can be a burden and we hide them behind a mask of confidence ... or ... lack of confidence. We need to look below the surface to remember that confidence is sometimes an illusion.

In Miss Belief, Teagan shows a lot of confidence on the outside. She’s tall, beautiful and seems to be comfortable in every situation. Unfortunately, Teagan grew up with a drug-addicted mother, a stint in foster care, and financial difficulties her whole life. Teagan is vulnerable when it comes to trusting others, especially men and she can’t help attaching her value to her past. Considering she is also having to strip to help her sister cover her niece’s medical bills, Teagan feels she is not good enough for the man she has crushed on for the last year … her boss.

Reid is going through a rough patch after finding his fiancé cheating on him with his brother. Deep down he knows that he’s better off without the woman who has been in his life since middle school. It takes an intervention from his admin assistant and good friend, Teagan to realise he hasn’t been happy for many years. Teagan is not afraid to call him out on his bad behaviour and forces him to take a hard look at himself to see what he really wants out of life. Getting back to a healthy lifestyle (not drinking every night) and spending quality time with Teagan has made Reid realise that his ex was bad for him … and his confidence.

Reid must attend a wedding where he knows his ex and possibly his brother will attend. Teagan and Reid come up with the brilliant plan of going together as a couple. Unfortunately, Reid knows it will be horrible, but even he underestimates the extent that power and fortune hungry Mammas will go to, to gain a prosperous match. Even worse, Teagan must use her arsenal of smart, snarky, and cutting comments to keep the nasty vipers away. Reid and Teagan form an unbreakable bond against adversity. That bond ... and sharing a bed, exposes feelings that neither can deny.

I really enjoyed reading Miss Belief. It’s a little mean of me to think it but I don’t mind stories that show that the beautiful and rich have doubts, insecurities and problems just like us normal people. I also get a wee bit of a thrill seeing normal people standing up to and conquering rude, arrogant and haughty individuals. Teagan, in fine (snarky) form, was awesome up against Reid’s ex. I took an extreme amount of pleasure seeing the ex-fiancé lose.

This series has been a winner for me, and I can’t wait for the next instalment with Tory and Chance. If you haven’t tried an Aubrey Bondurant yet, I highly recommend giving the Miss series a try.

4 Cheez Wiz Stars.

Good things come to those who wait. And I am so excited to have read this. Miss Belief is a fake relationship and an office romance standalone. Q

Teagan has been secretly in love with her Boss Reid for the last year. She has watched him morph from an easygoing guy to a miserable man from his breakup with his cheating long-term girlfriend. After an intervention, Reid confesses he needs a fake date for a weekend to a wedding his ex will be in, along with him. He asks Teagan and then these two get together to find out more about each other and act the part.

Teagan is my kind of girl, zero filters, loyal to her family and close friends. Quick with her tongue, and put up with nothing. Her comebacks are classic. But deep down, she can’t let go and is more sensitive than she leads on.

“Only because you’re like an Amazon woman.” Lame. I’d hoped for something more cutting and creative. “Middle school called. They want your insult back. By the way, you have red lipstick on your teeth.” I made a motion with my finger toward my front tooth. “Whew, I’ve wanted to tell you all night as I could see it from all the way across the room. You’re welcome.”

Reid comes from money, from his, he acts, you would never know. He is so down to earth. Reid starts to see Teagan in a new light and pushes his feelings aside.

The setting is in Dubai and the main characters are from America. It makes you see how different the culture and countries are, for instance, what is illegal in Dubai is like simple Strip clubs.

Honestly, I stopped reading office romance and am so glad I gave this book a chance. It gives a unique view and a different twist.

2.5 I found this this to be quite slow, plodding through with him liking her and her liking him but neither of them telling the other. It was all a bit ‘read this before’ for me. I was actually more interested in the main character’s brother, Chase, Reid as the main character seemed a bit weak and naïve by comparison. Not my favourite from this author.

Complete story but part of a series. Available on ku.

LOVED THIS!!
I want Reid to be the nacho chip to my Cheez Whiz!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this well-written, fake relationship, office romance! This series is one of those that keep getting better and better with each book.

We met Teagan in book 2, Miss Understanding. I loved her back then, and couldn’t wait for her story. It was everything!

Her sass made her strong and admirable, her vulnerability made her lovable and real, and her badassery made her enviable. I just adored her, wanted to be her BFF, and felt the need to have her back.

Reid was also in book 2, and I’m so happy to finally have his story. As the story is told, more and more of his sexy self comes shining through. Once he has his little epiphany, once he’s seeing things a bit clearer, realizes what’s right in front of him...lookout. Because a determined Reid is a HOT AF Reid.

Unfortunately, he has to deal with a horrible, cheating ex and an annoying MILP, a mother I’d like to punch. And sadly, so does Teagan. But the connection Reid and Teagan have cannot be broken, no matter how awful those two were.

This book was unputdownable for me, which is no surprise with this author. I know I’m always going to get a quality story from her with all those feels and all the things I need and love in my romance novels.

I smiled and laughed many times throughout this story, as well as felt my heart squeeze from the touching, emotional scenes. And the steamy times...yeah, those tingles and sizzles were plentiful.

Miss Belief is book 3 in the Miss Series. It’s a stand-alone, so books 1 and 2 don’t have to be read in order to enjoy this one. I can’t recommend this series enough!

This is probably one of Aubrey's funniest books to date! This fake relationship is also a friends to lovers AND office romance. Teagan is MY KIND OF GIRL! Some of the things that she says... her replies and comebacks..... ABSOLUTELY the same things I would have said.
To me... Aubrey is the QUEEN of Office Romance...... but this book takes it to another level! While he is technically her boss, they are also friends.... and then adding that "Will you be my fake date" thing to it, with how snarky Teagan is (and how clueless Reid seems to be) you already know it will make for an interesting time! I laughed so many times reading this book. And OMG are they hot.... once they get that going..... well let's just say that I did NOT see some of that coming!

Definitely a must read! This Miss series has been so great so far, and I am MORE than ready for Chance's story.... I was intrigued by him before..... but after his role in this story.... I am chomping at the bit for more of him!

This one was right on point with the other two reads in the fact it was a light hearted read that had me laughing out loud. The characters were very well written and I felt like I could identify with everyone in the book. The snark, the tension, the heat and the humor truly gave me a perfect read that cured my book hangover from a prior read.

teagan has been crushing on reid, her boss, for at least a year. nothing happened because a) he’s her boss, b) he was engaged. however, now that he’s single, teagan knew it’s her chance. a fake dating plot to make sure that everyone knows he’s never returning to his cheater of an ex turned into something more between teagan and reid. overall, it was fun and fast. i thought that their development was pretty good and nothing was too rushed.

5 SMOOCHES

I ‘ve read all of Aubrey Bondurant’s books, and I’ve loved each one. She describes her writing style as adult contemporary erotic romantic comedy—think smutty chick-lit—but no matter how she describes it, you can count on her stories to be engaging, smart and witty. Her stories always seem to pull me right in, and I’m rewarded with a sexy love story, relatable characters and charming details. If you haven’t read Aubrey Bondurant yet, you’re missing out. She’s a not-to-be-missed indie author that contemporary romance readers need to have on their TBRs.

I’ve been totally hooked on Aubrey Bondurant’s latest series, the Miss series. I love workplace romances, a trope Bondurant does really well, and this one has a fake relationship spin to it. A heartbroken boss and his snarky, sexy assistant team up as a fake couple to attend a destination wedding where he’ll be facing off with his former fiancée. Aubrey has a sharp, witty sense of humor, but this was hands down her funniest book yet. I found myself laughing out loud at times and I definitely smiled my way through this book. There was plenty of emotion here, too, and both of these characters struggled with self-confidence in different ways. Teagan Larson is a woman with a difficult past, and she uses sarcasm as a shield. She may put on a brave face, but inside she felt vulnerable and way out of her league on the arm of super wealthy Reid Maxwell. But Reid had his own confidence struggles after he suffered the humiliating blow of catching his fiancée in the act of cheating on him. Normally upbeat, kind and a true gentleman, Reid sunk so low, Teagan had to stage an intervention to snap him out of it. Reid and Teagan had such great communication, undoubtedly because of their professional relationship, but a real friendship blossomed there, too. There was always some chemistry simmering between them, but it wasn’t anything either would act on given the fact that Reid was engaged. But when a now single Reid realizes he’s truly over his ex, he’s thinking about Teagan differently. Couple all of that with the whole fake relationship situation and some close quarters, and that simmering chemistry is suddenly boiling.

Miss Belief grabbed my attention from the first page with a sweet and seriously sexy romance between two people with some major confidence and trust issues. I loved every second of Reid and Teagan’s story, and my heart ached and raced as make-believe morphed into reality between them. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! Five smooches from me for Miss Belief by Aubrey Bondurant!

Miss Belief certainly ticked all my boxes and I have to say this is probably my favourite in this series. I was excited for Reid Maxwell and Teagan Larson’s story and I wasn’t disappointed, this book was everything expected and so much more.
Teagan Larson is doing what she needs to do to support her sister and her nieces cancer treatment and that means dancing in an nightclub in Dubai as well as holding an office job down, her boss is Reid Maxwell and as much as she has crushed on him she knows he is off limits but when he comes to her needing a favour she struggles to come up with a reason to say no.
Reid needs a date for a wedding and the only person who doesn’t put up with his mopey ways is Teagan Larson, she will kick his butt into shape and that’s exactly what he needs but what happens when this couple really get to know each other.......Will they cross the line
This is taking fake dating to a whole another level and once you add in the friendship, families and the fact they work together you get a perfect read. The characters are really likeable and easy to relate to and their story is emotional and captivating with just the right amount of humour. I loved everything about this book and this series should certainly be on everyone’s TBR list. I highly recommend one clicking his wonderful read and I’m off to add it to my list of best reads of the year. Great job Miss Bondurant, can’t wait to see where you take us next.

Teagan Larson has had a crush on her boss, Reid Maxwell, since she started with the company, but his recent breakup has him acting out of character and a total jerk to work with. Deciding he needs a wake up call Teagan call Reid out on his behavior telling him to get it together. The problem for Reid is he can't believe the woman he figured he would always marry betrayed him in a way he doesn't know he can come back from. Reid's bigger problem is the wedding he is supposed to attend, knowing his ex will be there.

Teagan becomes Reid's confidant and decides to help him out. She offers to be his pretend girlfriend for the event. In order to convince everyone they spend time together really getting to know one another. Teagan attempts to keep her attraction in check but the closer she gets to him it becomes more difficult.

Reid isn't sure he should be using Teagan as his fake girlfriend. The whole scenario could be problematic as Reid comes from a world of wealth and snobbery and Teagan is anything but. Reid though begins to wonder if Teagan could feel more from him the closer they get. Can two opposites come together and what happens when Reid finds out the secret Teagan has been holding?

I enjoyed this quite a bit. It had a luxury aspect to the story and a Pretty Woman makeover moment in a sense that I found endearing. I liked Reid a lot, it was intriguing seeing him as the main character trying to overcome his breakup. Teagan is a strong character who I would love to sit and have coffee with, she is that fascinating. I am not sure how I stumbled upon this book but look forward to reading more from this author.

There were a lot of things I didn't like about this book, a few that I did.

Let's get the nasty stuff out of the way:

The fact that this woman has a crush on her boss and wants to pretend to be in a relationship with him is alarming, understandable but still.

So she proceeds to do so and try to kill those feelings. Of course this shit go poorly and she found herself more deep than before.

The part that really did me in was the miscommunication between the two (again, I understand given the way its explained), but is the fact that she thinks he doesn't approves of her life and the experiences that shaped the person she's today.

Really? If any possible romantic partner in my life - and anybody for that matter - frowned upon of something as core and simple as this, they would be an immediate no. It doesn't matter my affections for them, if someone can't think of my accomplishments (small as they may be) as something to be respected, as if I'm not.

And she still insists he has no flaw she can see to erase her feelings. Talk about low self worth.

The hero is the epitome of white privilege. He's so in his world that he can't see how he some of the things he says can be perceived because of his privilege and it kinda made me grit my teeth. This is just a pet peeve of mine and was, again, well explained within the book.

Our heroine has another job where she's a stripper. I'm tired of this trope and the way it's explored. For fucks sake. She's ashamed of this job and of course she's in this situation because there is tragic events happening behind the curtains.

Please why? I see that sometimes this is really the case, but this is the only perspective we ever see. The only one! I'm bored by it.

To top it off I couldn't really feel the feelings of the hero. It's like he was going thru the motions and she really felt like a damn rebound without the crap ending those have sometimes. Like why did you liked her? It just seems like an infatuation and not love.

Things I liked:

Their friendship and how the banter and conversations happened, the hero shyness and the fact he was a damn sweet guy, like genuinely.

Their chemistry and the sex scenes, damn those were nice.

The heroine's comebacks everytime someone tried to trample over her - not here babe!

Overall an ok read.

Let me introduce you to my newest book boyfriend, Reid Maxwell. He’s a true gentleman and a gentle man. He’s caring and considerate. He’s not afraid to show his vulnerability and insecurities – to the right person. And behind closed doors, he’s got a dirty mouth and a body that he knows how to use in the best of ways. Sigh!

Since I can’t have him, Teagan Larson will have to step in, and does she ever! She’s a fierce woman with a strong personality that hides a sensitive centre.

Reid and Teagan have had very different upbringings and different lives but this all falls away when they are together. They are both comfortable and electric together – the best of combinations.
Of course it’s not all smooth sailing, and Bondurant introduces several side characters – including the ex-fiancée from hell – intent on pulling this couple apart. Their behaviour is over-the-top outrageous but it made me laugh, especially because it gave Teagan ample opportunity to voice her particular brand of snarky comebacks. So satisfying!

MISS BELIEF by Aubrey Bondurant is book three in the Miss series. All the books can be read as stand alones.

I really really enjoyed this book - stayed up till 2am just to finish; Reid used to be a spoiled rich boy, until circumstances made him leave home and do what he always wanted - make it on his own; Teagan had a sad childhood, but, the circumstances with her niece, her current life had some bright spots, Reid, but an unsure future was on the horizon.

Reid and Teagan team up, to help him out of a family situation - and of course the attraction was already there - but with them staying together, and that first kiss - the attraction, chemistry and downright sexual energy that surrounded them before, is even stronger now.

What I like is that they are pretty good in the communication department - which leads them to the bedroom (of course), but when outside sources intervene, and Teagan's insecurity rises - they have to find away back to each other, which thank god, they do.

The story of Reid and Teagan is not to be missed - I loved it!!

I absolutely loved this story .
Reid and Teagan's characters instantly shot into my heart , and that is where they stayed .

Teagan's strength of character , and inner strength, shine through throughout the story , not only with what happened through her childhood, but with what she is willing to do for her niece and sister .

Reid likes to please people , he likes to make people feel comfortable. He always puts others before himself .
He may have had a privileged upbringing, but it was not particularly happy or loving .

Seeing Reid and Teagan's vulnerable sides squeezed at my heart . They always had to have their game face on in front of others , but together, slowly but surely, they could let that mask slip , to find out truths , and be each others safe place .

This story is such an amazing read .

4.5 Cheese Whiz and Warm, Salty Nuts Stars ✨

Ok, so I’ll start by saying that the fake relationship trope really isn’t my jam and is a small reason I waited to start this one. I should have trusted that Aubrey wouldn’t steer me wrong...and she didn’t. I really enjoyed Reid and Teagans story. We are originally introduced to both Reid and Teagan in book 2 of the series. Reid has broken it off with his girlfriend and Teagan is crushing on Reid from afar. We get to see more of Teagans past which was heartbreaking. The buildup for these two was well spaced and their relationship wasn’t rushed. When these two get together, Mr Nice turned a little bit into Mr. Alpha.

We do see Chance in the book (yay!) and the lead up to his and Tory’s story is making me antsy for February. Something tells me that Tory is going to bring overprotective Chance to his knees.

Nothing like warm nuts

I think Teagan is my favorite heroine of the series so far. She’s giving but insecure and has had a crush on Reid since moving to Dubai. She convinces herself it’s harmless since he’s engaged. But it gets harder to convince herself when she becomes his assistant and he breaks up with the ex. An ex that clearly expects him to come crawling back when he has to attend a wedding where she’ll be. So when Reid asks her to be his fake girlfriend for the wedding, she has to hope she can get through it with her heart in one piece, because there’s no way Reid would ever want to be with a girl like her.
I loved this book and the whole series. I would recommend it to everyone.

Holy hell this series just keeps getting better & better, and that's saying something since I have already thought that the previous books were perfect. Reid has been a sad panda with a kicker of mean since he broke up with his long term girlfriend, and Teagan has had enough of his attitude at work. She decides to hold an intervention to set him straight but things actually take a turn when he talks her into playing his pretend girlfriend for a wedding that he has to attend. Teagan has had a secret thing for him for some time, but she believes deep down that she'll never be good enough for him, however in my eyes, he wasn't good enough for her, and I don't mean that in a bad way either. The things Teagan is willing to do for the people she loves is simply amazing so I wanted her to be my best friend. As they play pretend, the line becomes blurry between fake & real as the sparks are flying but not everyone is happy about them being together. This story was amazing, sweet, sexy, humorous with witty banter, and even a tad of emotional which equals perfection. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Oh how I absolutely love this ( Miss series) Miss Belief was an amazing read and I did it on one go! Couldn’t put it down as I was engrossed in this story that time just passed me by!
Loved Teagan and Reid. Both wonderful characters who were so opposite but such a beautiful couple.
Loved the slow build of the fake romance to something special, hating the meddling families but we needed a bit of angst. Aubrey your books never disappoint!
If your looking for a great flowing fake relationship to true love then look no further this book has everything.
Can’t wait for Chances book next.

Excellent book!

I love this series.

Teagan and Reid are fun people. Teagan is a bit feisty and Reid needs her. He has been short and mean and drunk a lot and Teagan notices, she calls him out about it all.

A fake romance (love these), a wedding and lots of miscommunication leads to hilariousness as well as some anger.

It is a great story with great characters.

This series is one that when you read the next chapter in the series, it only gets better with each book. The author is great @ writing fake & complicated relationships. She gives the Larson sisters strength, determination, not ashamed to have a NO filter policy, when it comes to speaking their mind. Maybe because their childhood was not the best. Older sister protecting the younger sister. In return the younger sister will take a job as a striper to send money to her sister Tory to pay for her daughter's Penelope's cancer treatments.

The men these women fall for are, great at dealing with business ventures, but horrible when it involves a relationship. Could their parents & heartbreak have something to do with them not finding their true love of their lives?

We met Teagan Lawson as the BFF to her friend Chloe in book 2. She is loyal, supportive, strong-willed. She is happy for her friend getting her HEA with her boss. Now Chloe is pushing Teagan to tell her boss Reid Maxwell how she feels about him. Can Teagan the sassy, strong, loyal hard-working assistant let her walls down? Can she openly admit to her emotions when it relates to her every growing crush, she has over her boss Reid Maxwell for the past year? Especially now that he is in a deep depression over the recent breakup to his horrible EX Vanessa.
Can Teagan pull off an intervention without getting herself hurt in the process? Now that Reid has asked her to play his Fake girlfriend to the upcoming wedding to one of his society friends. That happens to have his EX & him in the wedding party. When the man you have crushed on for over a year has now become your immediate boss you, first, freak out with lust. Second, you try not to act like a fool around him especially when have always been friends who have joked around all the time. However, he has just broken up with his longtime girlfriend.

Not just any girlfriend but one he has loved since middle school. Reid is a broken man, but not for the reasons you would think. He found Venessa at the beginning of a compromising act with his brother. Not that it went through but that she was willing. All staged by his brother, Chance supposedly to save Reid. I say BS. Not good for brotherly love. What do you think?

Now Reid has thrown himself into the bottle but he's hit the all-time low. A young tech who works the graveyard shift had to manually help Reid and he was drunk. He brought it to Teagan because he likes him, anyone else may not. Teagan was already over his mopping and pity show and planned on talking to him but now it was time for an intervention.

She flat-out told him exactly that. Plus that he was coming to work reeking of booze. That he needs to hit the gym, get a haircut, and no more drinking. That's when he tells her he is going to have to see her because they are both at the wedding. He wishes he had found someone instead of wallowing. Teagan offers to be his fake date.

It's two weeks before the wedding for the island showdown. She has to be prepared for these animals who eat their young. But, for this crowd, it took less than a minute to go for the gold. Let's just say, Teagan is ready for them. Her snarkiness is in rare form.

I enjoyed the signs of love they show without words. Although, words get them so much farther along. The two make the gym a regular thing. When she is threatened with being outed about her second job. She doesn't take the bat.

I enjoy the strong women characters in all the books. The snarky foreplay banter is always fun. Her comparison of cheese is so funny and brings her life into perspective. Reid gets her the way she gets him. I love the way he sees the comparison between Teagan and Vanessa. Essentially, how much he laughs or hides from his happiness.

“His Kiss was everything. A promise. A dream.”

This was the third book in Aubrey’s Miss series, and it keeps getting better. I absolutely loved the characters in this story. The great thing about this series is that we get to follow these characters through all the stories. Even though this book was focused on Reid and Teagan we still had the opportunity to see glimpses of Chloe/ Aiden and Liam/ Kendall. The characters in this story are well written and the supporting characters truly bring this tale to life.
Reid is down on his luck and has serious trust issues with women thanks to his cheating fiancé and what he believes low life brother. Teagan is his assistant who is secretly crushing on him. Reid and Teagan agree to a fake relationship in order to save Reid’s face with having to attend a wedding with his ex. Once there things quickly become complicated and Reid realizes that he is well and truly over his ex, and thanks to a physic reading knows he has to be the first one to make a move because of Teagan’s shyness...but by the time he decides to move on this attraction his brother has already undermined Teagan and Reid’s mother tricks her....leaving Teagan no choice but to return home alone. Or so she believes. Now Reid is racing against the clock to find Teagan and to tell her the truth...about his family and most importantly about his change in feelings about their relationship...

I absolutely love Aubrey’s books, she is an amazing author who stories keep us entertained and deeply invested in seeing it through. I love how she gives us the HEA’s that we love but its a slow burn to their happy ending with so much growth from the characters that you can’t help but fall in love with them.
