In the Barrington family, Ian is the fixer. He lives a double life—one that has provided him with the skills to save his family more than once. Reuniting with the brother they’d all believed was dead has shaken him to the core. He is driven to find the responsible party regardless of the consequences.
Claire Wendell’s best friend recently married into the very powerful, very troubled Barrington family. When she stepped away from her own life to help Annie and Kade settle into theirs, she had no idea it would put her on a possible suspect list.
She’s bold enough to stand up to Ian and intuitive enough to see past his anger, but love may not be enough to protect the family when the truth about the woman who raised Kade is revealed.
Ruth Cardello hit the NYTs and USA Today for the first time back in 2012. Millions of sales are evidence that her books are akin to potato chips, addictive from the first one. She has created a multi-series billionaire world with a combination of escapism and realism that has gained her a faithful following of readers.
What Kindle Reviewers write about her:
"Wow hot at every page. Heart stoping, fear raging, mind blowing wonderful."
"I'm a true fan of Ms. Cardello. I ran on to her first book a few years back and have been hooked ever since. I could go on and on about the story like of this book, but I'm not. All of her books are total page turners, unique, heart wrenching, and I love them all. There isn't two alike in the bunch and I feel like i know the characters personally. I personally read 97 authors books. And I buy every book they put out. This author is in my top 10. Great job and keep them coming."
"Love this series. Got me to start reading again. I look forward to the next book. Thank you for giving me the love of reading back."
Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York--then came full circle and moved back to New England. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather and international scene.
She was an educator for 20 years, the last 11 as a kindergarten teacher. When her school district began cutting jobs, Ruth turned a serious eye toward her second love- writing and has never been happier. When she's not writing, you can find her chasing her children around her small farm or connecting with her readers online.

Never Goodbye (The Barrington Billionaires Book 7) by: Ruth Cardello
Through heartache, despite the tears, because of the laughter and while facing their fears, the Barringtons are the best of what a family should be. Cardello has created a dynasty united in heart. Never Goodbye was my watershed moment. Ian and Claire gave me heart tingles. Hidden in the pain of the past lies a regret that could destroy their chance at a future. With the power of words and the abundance of emotion, Cardello puts the heart on notice with a hopeful voice.
"Never Goodbye" is book seven in The Barrington Billionaires series and I just need to say that this is one of my favorite series, I love the Barringtons. This is the story of Ian Barrington and Claire Wendell. Ian is the fixer in the family, he feels like he has to make everything right and it really bothers him if he can't. Claire is the best friend of Annie, who just married Ian's long lost brother Kade, one of the problems that Ian feels like he should have been able to fix and didn't. Maybe he still can, but at what price? A lot of words come to mind when describing this book: funny, sexy, entertaining, sad, hopeful, family and forgiveness are just a few of them. If you are a romance lover you have to read this book, it is a page turner that I couldn't read fast enough. Five "fix it" stars for this one!!
I liked seeing Ian in this one -- the fight scene is probably my favorite part of the whole series. This one has more plot than most of the other books, so that's nice to read, too.
After reading 5 (I skipped 2 of them), I wish there were a little more variation of the main storytelling beats. But I'm the one who keeps reading them, so there's that. The predictability is part of their charm?
I wish there were less over-the-top-man-proposals and many fewer babies.
Gaaaaaahhhh!!! I’ve waited ages to read the rest of the Barrington series. I still have some catching up to do. I love this family. I love how they love on each other, they’re not perfect but human. I was waiting to find out Ian’s story, the mysterious one who has connections in high places. I loved discovering all about him, especially Bradford dishing it all to Claire without Ian knowing. ( I can’t wait for his story) I liked their honesty. They were scared, hurt and unsure but through their honesty they were able to sort everything out, gain a deeper understanding and respect for each other and fall in love. The whole Barrington family are great, seeing the changes in their relationship dynamic since finding Kade and finding love is amazing.
It’s Ian and Claire’s story and wow what a story Ruth has written for them! Claire who is protective of those within her circle including Kade who we found is the long lost brother of the famous and wealthy Barrington family. Ian Barrington feels he must get to the bottom of Kade being taken away from the family as an infant - no matter who he hurts along the way. I could feel for Claire who not only attracted to Ian, yet I could totally understand why she didn’t want to be with him. Yet Ian seemed to gain some maturity too. But love is a bumpy road and Ian and Claire’s is no exception. This is one of those books I couldn’t put down (truth be said, all of Ruth’s books I devour as soon as they are on my Kindle). We got a lot of answers in Never Goodbye along with a couple’s lasting love.
Enemies to lovers at its best!! This story was funny, sexy and very entertaining! The agnst between Ian and Claire just perfect!! Once Ian & Claire finally got on the same page was definitely swoon worthy! The meatheads were hilarious and my heart smiled when Ian & Kade FINALLY let the past go and became not only friends but real brothers. I am also very intrigued by Bradford. He’s got my interest and I hope we will see his story in the future.
Lets be honest the chemistry between these two started off very well however it dissolved into a little bit boring chemistry and I started to question why I was reading this.
Boring bit out of the way first… This is the 7 book in the Barrington Billionaire’s series and if you haven’t already read the first six books… do not start here… you need to go back the beginning… maybe even further back to the Legacy Collection and The Andrade’s series to fully understand the much, much bigger picture. They are all cleverly linked and definitely worth reading and falling in love with each character.
So, book 7… and finally we got to learn more about the dark and mysterious Ian Barrington. He features quite a lot through the first books but he’s a little elusive. You never quite know what to make of him and he’s always seems so tightly wound.
Ian is the fixer of the family. Whenever the family need help, he steps in and sorts it. But recent revelations about his long lost, definitely not dead, baby brother have left Ian reeling. For thirty years, alongside his dad and older brother he helped protect his mother and siblings from the world causing them more pain. But in response to everything that has come to light over the last couple of years, Ian has come to realise that hiding from the pain and grief had broken his family. He’d fixed what he could - but some things can never be fixed. The past is most definitely that something.
His brothers shock return to the family has been difficult for Ian. There’s so much guilt among the older brothers at first that it causes initial upset… but once Kade found that having two loving families was better than one, everything begins to calm and settle. Everything except Ian’s need to find the real truth.
The mission however is flawed. By discovering the truth, could he fracture his family again? Majorly conflicted Ian finds solace, comfort and reason in the most unlikely of people. His new sister-in-laws best friend, Claire.
She’s a life coach who is having her own life crisis… especially after she sleeps with Ian at Kade and Annie’s wedding. Everything about Ian annoys her. He’s arrogant, rude and condescending but also incredibly hot, insanely gorgeous and heartbreakingly lost. Being a fixer too… Claire doesn’t just see the tough, hard faced image he portrays - she sees the real him. And the more they get to know each other, the more their attraction builds.
But will he be able to walk away from discovering the truth to avoid hurting his family? Will he lose everything and everyone if he continues on the path to find out what really happened 30yrs ago?
I have to admit, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this pairing but by the time I’d got half way through the book I adored their obvious chemistry and the way the bounce off each other. They test each other. The push each other to be the best person they can be… and by the end of this story, they are both stronger, more trusting and definitely deserving of the love they find between them.
I can’t wait for the next instalments because I can’t wait for more about Connor and Dylan. They seriously crack me up. I’m also intrigued by Brandon. I definitely want to see if he finds his missing piece like Ian has found his.
As always I enjoy Ruth Cardello’s book. The Barrington are about done now except for extended family. Ian was rich handsome, the family fixer and secretly dangerous. Claire was Annie best friend who married Ian’s brother Kade that ad been missing since birth. Claire was a fixer as well she was a life coach. Ian always felt like something was going on with Claire, but Devine intervention her friends brother kidnapped Ian, lol one of the most dangerous man in the world, smh.... anyway they brought him to Claire so she did what she did best she tried to talk him out of hurting them, that they were harmless. That conversation lead to.....welll... you know. Good book.
Omg I absolutely loved this read from Ruth. Ian and Claire what can I say they are my favourite Barrington’s love the conflict between them you new Ian was an @$$ because he liked Claire and his instincts were spot on, the rift he causes the family becomes to an all time high but with Connor and Dylan now in the family circle tension also gets defuse really quickly because of them (omg I love Connor and Dylan). Ian’s job becomes a surprise, who new. I do love the new character Bradford though, and can’t wait to read more from these Barrington's.
Two people who don’t like each other have sex, 5 days later the woman decides to completely up root her life and move to a different country for him, a couple of days later he realizes he loves her and wants her to have his babies, then he disappears for a week and she decides that’s okay and she will wait for him to hear his explanation, a couple days after that they get engaged. Literally, their love story was over the course of maybe 2 weeks. This was so OTT and unbelievable.
Ian and Claire, their story is beautiful. I love them together as they compliment each other, both strategic thinkers, planners. No- nonsense, don't trust easily and keeps their hearts fully guarded but together all bets are off. I absolutely adore Connor and Dylan's characters. They bring so much joy to the story with so many LOL moments. No matter how down someone is they make them smile. I hope they find their special someone.
This is Ian and Claire's story. We met Claire in book 6. Claire is Annie's best friend. This was a true enemies to friendemies to lovers story. This book had the chemistry and the struggle with what to do include consequences to happily ever after. The ride was a good one
I couldn't get into this book and I was excited to read about Ian. I didn't care for Claire, she didn't seem strong to me. I like women who make the guy earn her love, she didnt! She seemed very wimpy to me, she got her business back and have it up to move on a whim. I didn't feel any chemistry, just sex. I was disappointed in this book.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Ian is quite a nice alpha type to hold your interest and his new lady is quite the handful. Fortunately the stars align and find their HEA but it is quite a ride getting there!
Thanks to the raucous Sutton brothers Claire Wendell and Ian Barrington begin a rocky journey to love. They're both fixers and protective of those they love. With Claire, Ian slowly reveals the real man beneath. Claire learns to trust that he will not be another person to abandon her.
Ruth is genius. Been reading these series since the beginning. Definitely read in order, its so gratifying. This had become my favorite one. Ian is totally swoon worthy, and Claire is a badass, totally made for each other.
Two people who don't seem to have much in common who manage to discover they fit together. Along with a huge family who are learning to be happy and keep making room for more family.
Ian Barrington was a puzzle to most people till he meets Claire wendell. This was a emotional story and humorous. they suited each other so well but could not accept it.lots of problems were achieved. Another great book about the Barrington Billionaires.
Never Goodbye (The Barrington Billionaires Book 7)
The love story of Ian and Claire. It was hate at first sign. Ian, the family fix it man and Claire is a life coach. Can the two very independent people find love and happiness? Great story.
I love these characters. Ian and Claire will have your emotion rolling. I love they say they deal with each other and Claire has a side you are going to absolutely love. Then you have Bradford. I really hope that he gets his own book. I can't wait to read more
This book is incredibly funny and the suspense is a little crazy. Ian is the fixer in the family and no one knows what be actually does. Falling for Claire changes everything.
Claire is street smart, Ian is smart. Claire has drive, Ian is a fixer…. Can Ian stay out of trouble long enough to get to know Claire, let the challenge begin. I lived this story, very original.
The last Barrington finally gets his HEA!! Loved this book and this family!! All secrets are revealed and the whole family can enjoy their HEA!! Grab this book and this series and enjoy!! Next up is Viviana's brothers!! Can't wait!!
This wraps up the Kade/Kane situation in full. Apart from that, I cannot say Ian or Claire had that spark that I like to read about. Though it was good to see Ian come out from behind the facade he showed his family and everybody else. Read through kindle unlimited.
Funny and thrilling. Each book in this series has the same sex scene which is not necessary. And there are way too many "fucking fucks" in the entire set. Otherwise you'd get all 5 stars.
