It’s funny how many readers are calling the heroine a bitch because she grew some balls after being bullied by the hero and his friends. How she was fat shamed by him and everyone. The only person who stood by her side was her brother. Does she cheat? Apparently she does because I didn’t finish this but if she did, he very well deserved to be cheated on. He wanted to keep her a secret because he was ashamed that she was fat. Mind you she wasn’t actually fat, she had baby fat that was going to away once she shifted which it did but by then it was too late that he changed his thoughts and wanted her when he saw her beautiful fit wolf. She grew some balls and it was amazing how she rejected him! I was like you go girl!

Some quotes from the dickhole!

“I was upset too. How dare they joke about my mate? I had to calm myself down. No one knew she was my mate, and I didn't want anyone to know until she lost a few pounds.”

“Her weight was likely to hurt my legs. OK, so in retrospect, she wasn't as fat as we made her out to seem; it was just that she hadn't shifted yet and still had her baby fat, which when compared to every other she-wolf in the pack that was seventeen and older, was fat.”

“What? Just because she is a fat loser doesn't mean I still wouldn't tap that.”

“I shook the thought out of my head. I wasn't going to mate with her if she didn't lose weight.”

“She's chubby, nobody would want her.”

“Congrats? Didn't he see the fat on her?”

I Really Tried

I gave this book a chance and really tried to get through it, I really wanted this story to be good, but between the massive editing overhaul needed and the ridiculous fat-shaming of the not-yet-full-grown main character, I couldn’t finish it. It has potential, but until it’s properly edited and revised, I cannot recommend His Rejection. I applaud Chazminne Harrison for being brave enough to publish her Wattpad novel, but now that it’s on Amazon, it has to compare to the stories in this genre written by professional authors, especially since readers are potentially paying for this book.

Seventeen year old werewolf never changed still carrying her baby fat and teased about being fat! Oh my on her birthday she was supposed to change for the first time and she hoped to find her mate. Many wolves went their entire lives without finding their mates but it was a lifelong dream that was a bond that made your life complete. Nova had been a orphan since her father committed suicide several years ago and her brother Alex had taken on the mantle of father/ protector. Alex was not that much older than she was but he was fiercely loyal to her.
Maxon was the son of the alpha of their pack and the next alpha of the pack. Their current alpha had lost his wife and had become bitter and cruel accusing his wife of infidelity. Maxon and Nova were mates.
The tense errors and grammatical mistakes were numerous and ruined the flow of this book making me wonder if it was translated from another language.

This book sucked me in immediately. So much happens and since the book is short we don’t get to be there for many events. Still maybe it wouldn’t have grabbed me so hard if all those events were on page?

His Rejection by Chazminne Harrison had me hooked with the drama, the angst, and the “sir… you really thought that was a good idea?” moments.

The story follows Nova, who discovers her mate is the powerful Alpha Maxon. Sounds like a dream, right? Nope. Maxon decides to reject her and immediately earns a spot on the fictional men making terrible life choices list. 🫠

What I loved most was Nova’s growth. Instead of staying stuck in heartbreak, she slowly finds her strength and confidence again. Watching her rebuild herself while Maxon slowly realizes he may have made the worst decision of his entire alpha career was honestly so satisfying. The tension, the pack dynamics, and the emotional push-and-pull kept me flying through the chapters. 🐺✨

And the plot twist at the end?! I genuinely enjoyed it. It added a fun surprise that made the ending feel even more dramatic and satisfying. 👀

The only small downside was that I noticed a couple spelling/editing errors throughout the book. Nothing major, but it did pull me out of the story for a second here and there.

OMG, I barely pushed through on this story. With the fat-shaming, running away, accidentally cheating, running away again, cheating cuz he cheated. I started getting lost in all the twist and turns. Also, what was the point in all this constant whining and bitching to everyone else but the person you’re needing to talk to?! I feel like all that buried the main plot of Maxon’s dad being the one that’s really after Nova.

Truthfully, this read like a teenage soap opera!

There’s supposed to be a 2nd book coming out, I don’t think I can do it.

On the other hand, one thing I did like was, when Nova saw her mom and she told her to “Grow up, and to stop being selfish”, I felt like Nova needed to her that!

“Not everyone's love is the same. You are hardheaded just like both your mother and your father. Instead of the typical love, you need tough love. You need to realize how much you can hurt someone and how bad your choices will affect others.”

“So Maxon killed me to teach me a lesson? Well, that's stupid because I can't change if I'm dead.”

“It was stupid of you to do what you did,” she countered.

“You're on his side?! He killed me!”

“Nova, this isn't about sides! This is about right and wrong. Both you and Maxon have done things to each other that mates shouldn't and don't do to each other. Grow up! Your actions didn't hurt just you, Maxon and Alex and Noni all suffered because you were being selfish,” she yelled at me.

So I read it and I knew from the sample it was going to be one of those books where I was going to have to decipher some words because they were either spelt wrong or it just didn’t make sense but the backbone of the story (regardless of the editing) was very good. I’ve gave the story another shot even though I cringed and every mistake and questionable event. For example when you can feel your mate cheating but the H didn’t find out until he was near Marc that his mate had actually cheated same goes for Maxon and Natalie. I feel like there could have been more discussion about the book, along with edits. I’m sure if it was edited and thought out more it would be an awesome read, but for now it’s a generous 2 1/2 stars

The premise is good but...

I just couldn't get myself through it. By the graduation scene there were already MAJOR plot holes/inconsistencies. Like, saying mates died when the other did... but then repeatedly talks about mated couples that didn't die. Saying one couple is a mate, then ch a person later the male character meets his mate. What about the first mate? Things like that.

When the name change of a main character happened I was done.

Author if you're reading this: there's some great potential! Bc I tried to push through despite the holes/inconsistencies, but you need better beta readers or alpha readers or an editor.

This is one of those books that I wish an independent co-reader would have re-read before publication. The "blind spots" in the book could have been avoided, since one does not know the story and one's brain would not have "concealed" the missing and inconclusive points.
It's really a shame, because the basic idea was very interesting. Perhaps the author will take the time to revise this book at some point. I would really like to give more stars.

What bothered me the most while reading?
- Missing chapter headings with indication of time and place. (Note: It was at times a bit irritating to have to rhyme together the place and time via text).
- The last sentence in the book. (Note: Please cross it out completely. The story itself is so well completed that it is not necessary. Also it makes no sense at all since the future has "changed". This only complicates things and leaves a stale aftertaste).
- A foreword with a brief explanation of terms would have been nice. (Note: E.g. Mate Bond (What kind of connection, when does it exist, when does it not, when is it complete etc. or the different types of wolves with their special abilities etc.) It was a bit confusing to understand in places; some things also seemed inconclusive.
- And for heaven's sake... - Why shouldn't an alpha kill to protect his pack or mate? (I'd say that's part of the job description; or not?)
- And the "nefarious" alpha father... - It's actually more logical to have "more" special wolves in the pack than just one super wolf alone. Especially if it stays in your own family and strengthens it. (I mean: Later you can always "put him aside" if he gets annoying; right?)

So you see, some things weren't quite right. - But still I liked the plot at the end (that was something original). But as I said, it would be really nice if we could get a little more potential out of this book. It would really be a great story.

*I want to clarify that when I rate a book with 1 star, it means that although there are many things I don't like in said book, I enjoy reading it.
-The idea itself is interesting, the elements of that world are quite striking, the plot caught my interest but everything started to collapse. It is clear that this is a Web Novel or something like that and that it was published later in physical form (not that this is bad).
-Many of the motivations of the characters had no substance, they were random actions without much sense carried out just to fill the plot.
-English is not my first language and it is often difficult for me to spot spelling and grammar mistakes, but with this book even I could see that it needs more than one revision.
The author is on the right track, as I already said, the idea is good enough to develop it in a better way, with more revision, of course, and learn to give personality to each character and not treat them as empty puppets just for the the plot sake.
The question is do I recommend the book? Of course I do, that's what it's all about, talking about your experiences while reading a book and sharing them here (while being civil and polite, of course).

I really enjoyed this book! I was incredibly shocked by the MMC fat shaming his own mate, however understand it was a turning point for him as part of the book.

Great FMC standing up for herself and taking control of her life and actions. I enjoyed her growth! I would however would have loved to see her use her gifts. There could have been a second novel exploring this, however it’s a standalone book.

A good quick read, suspenseful throughout!

Some grammatical errors, not many, but otherwise it was fine.

So rushed

The story had so much potential, but the author rushed to finish. There were a few words missing to complete sentences, and at the beginning of one chapter, it seemed like the author mixed up a few names (called one character, another ones “mate”), and kind of forgot where they were in the story. There were HUGE holes. This could have been an amazing story, and possibly two whole books- but everything was so rushed together.

The idea of the story was fantastic though.

Bad teen ...romance?

Editors and proof readers are your friend . Find some.
This read Like a teen in a bad play .
He wants her but she's baby fat???
Then the one eighty into the Girl i didn't care for and tit for tat ...juvenile.
I stopped at 80 something % because I just couldn't with this anymore .
No depth, childish behaviour, no maturing at all..just teen bop ,with not one bad a#s amongst then ....
Ill leave it there . Can I get back the brain cells I just wasted giving this book a chance to deepen ? 🙋

This author has potential. She has a good engaging story here if not for the multiple errors in grammar and spellings.

Beginning chapters are worth the cringe, but I could imagine how some young people sometimes act and think, so it's kind of understandable.

Latter chapters are quite interesting, but most of the time sentences are hard and confusing to read because of said writing mistakes.

Overall I'd want to give this author a chance. She could write her paranormal stories well with more proofreading.

The writing was good

The writing was solid with a few errors and missing suffixes. The story was good , rejected mate and all the trials that ensue. I liked the Dallas television show ending also. What I didn't like was the weak male character and all the "should I kill them or not: internal dialogue. Hello, shifter novel! I expected some more toughness. Really not invested in a second book.

Awful

I could ignore all the grammar mistakes but this was just bad writing. Also what message is the author trying to give? Its ok if the guy's a shallow pig that treats women like crud because they will end up magically hot. Like leaving in between chapters, not saying a word to him for a year... will make him get to know you for you and appreciate your 'personality'. I couldn't read another awful chapter.

I’m stuck between loving it and feeling like it went to long

This book has me torn. There were times I couldn’t get enough and times I thought it should’ve been over multiple times. I really enjoy the mates, the strong characters and the supporting characters. I felt like the main characters would walk into danger, finish it 70% and then dip out, only to be shocked the danger was back. I am glad I read it but I’m not sure I would reread it!

It was very… wattpad themed but worse… The main character is this powerful being, mates with the Alpha, has this random ass vampire pining after her (she doesn’t even know who he is, like she’s never met him before). Another girl pining over her mate. Even though she’s this powerful being and her mate is this alpha, they are constantly being beat. Way too much dialogue during fighting/serious scenes.

His Rejection…

KU read, recommended.

Ok, this was quite a ride! Our FMC is having her birthday and is going to discover her mate, so she gets in the car with her brother and he starts to pick up friends. One of them is her mate, and because they have to all squish in, she ends up on his lap. And then…

Spoiler
That Twilight vision thingie activates…

This is really good and you need to ignore any grammar or spelling errors and just read this.

OMG!

I love this history. This is my second time I have read it. Nova is super brave and a little spoiled girl, but she lover's her brother more than anything. Mason is a sexy, strong alpha but his insecurities put his relationship with Nova in such a big mess.
Can't wait for the second book.

This is such a great book! I really want to know the different recipes she uses. I read this in a day and I fell in love with Nova and Maxon. I would recommend this to anyone, who is loving for a sweet story with a kickass female main character with a mate who's a bit rough around the edges but has a good heart.

Couldn’t put down!

At first I wasn’t so sure but at the same time it was too interesting to stop reading. I thought some points were stupid and pointless but you really have to read until the end to basically understand why the author put everything in the way she did. It has more turns and twists then you think. And the ending just blew me away it was a good book.

Plot was good but Nova acted like a selfish unforgiving terrible brat. All her secrets and terrible behavior. She was so immature I felt sorry for her mate. Yes, he was a jerk originally but he grew as a person and learned from his mistakes. Nova was stagnant and wallowed in her own self pity. I hope she's written better in the next story.

Omg mind blown is literally the best way to describe this book! It’s been a very long since I’ve been so immersed into a story and then to be hit with such a whirlwind that I never saw coming! I absolutely loved it and it’s as simple as that and if your want your mind blown this is a definite must read!

Not only juvenile, but stupid.!SPOILERS!

She's supposed to be powerful and he's supposed to be alpha, they get beaten by anybody. Kill the bad guys and get it over with, no let them do whatever they want and stand here waiting to die. Then the end REALLY!!! O and it's a stupid cliffhanger too.

Not to mention inconsistent storytelling. Like two storylines merged the wrong way.

Extremely Clever Rejection Plot

This book was non stop from start to finish. The best rejection plot I've read.
So much went on from the start saying what happened would ruin it for you the reader.
It makes you want to laugh, cry, scream and shout but it's all worth it.
Best yet there's a second book.
