Can Delilah ignore the burning irritation and her growing desire to finish the desperately needed case?
A quick sweet story about a struggling lawyer who reconnects with a successful lawyer from her past who she had a conflict with. Good resolution to their past troubles. A real feel-good story.
I enjoy a good enemies to lovers story and this is a good one. Poor Lilah’s having a rough time keeping her legal practice alive. Then suddenly she gets what appears to be the perfect client. The fly in the ointment is opposing counsel, Jackson, her college enemy. Forced to work with each other by the case, Lilah finds herself attracted to Jackson. One thing leads to another and they find themselves agreeing to a personal merger. This is a short story, so events happen quickly. I would have loved to see this story expanded as I didn’t want to leave Lilah and Jackson so soon.
You can feel the tension between the characters right from the start. It starts with action and continues through to the end making it impossible to put this down. A perfect enemies to lovers sweet romance. I hope to see more stories like this from the author.
I received an advance copy of this story and have provided an honest review.
Such a sweet story! I worked at a law firm in Tampa for five years so I very much enjoyed the setting and law references! I also loved the take on the “enemies to lovers” trope. Well done! I was offered an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
