She loses her prom date, her chance at cheer captain, and her friends all in one day! Will Sammy Lewis ever get her chance to be #Seen?  Good thing there's two new kids at school to help her out!

Zoey Thompson never expected to get hand-picked by a philanthropic billionaire Cyrus Black for an elite, undercover team to stop online predators from targeting teens. And she really never expected to have a broody, hot partner named Nicholas who keeps telling her not to ask about his past. Sheesh—he’s not the only one with secrets, so whatever!

Enter Sammy Lewis, sixteen-year-old cheerleader at Montrose High. Sammy has everything—a boyfriend, two best friends, and a shot at becoming cheer captain for the upcoming state cheer competition. Too bad she loses them all in one day. Good thing she has Instagram and @hunterlives, the only guy who really understands her.

Posing as cheerleaders, Zoey and Nicholas think they’re getting through to Sammy about the dangers of her situation. That is, until Sammy runs off in search of the guy who really isn’t her boyfriend at all.

Will they get there in time, or will it be the last time Sammy Lewis is ever #seen?

A note from the author:

Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.

I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.

What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.

It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.

And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.

What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.

I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.

I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.

I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!

Hugs-

Taylor

Lately, I've been finding books hard to get into as my mind has just been distracted and I have been finding things so blah and needing books with a bit of a kick. #Seen gives us that as it is the first book in a series called NorthStar. North Star as we learn is an organization that helps save children/teens from bad situations. The book starts with Zoey who found herself in a bad situation as she ends up kidnapped and sold to a pimp. Zoey ends up being one of the lucky ones rescued and returned to her family. The guy who brought Zoey home, Cyrus aims to save children from that exact situation that Zoey was in. We learn his daughter Marcella was kidnapped and we assume sold into human trafficking. In #Seen we jump over to the local high school where we meet Sammy. Sammy had it all, a great boyfriend, friends and on her way to becoming cheer captain - that is until in a blink of an eye it is gone. Feeling alienated, she turns to chat to a guy on her phone and he seems to be the only one who gets her. Enter Zoey and Nicholas who try to save Sammy from the same fate as Zoey as it is discovered that the guy Sammy has been talking to is part of a well-known trafficking ring and if Sammy isn't careful, she may find herself in the same position Zoey was in the beginning. Reading this book, made me realize how easy it is to fall into this trap and how thankful that nothing like this happened to me years ago chatting in chat rooms online and texting strangers was a normal thing to do and I look back now and realize how open I was to strangers and sharing and to be honest I didn't know who was really on the other end of the line. I am now looking forward to reading the rest of this series and I hope we get a chance to see Cyrus reunited with his daughter Marcella.

SO good! I love the underlining theme in this one because everyone needs to be seen. Not just teenagers. This is another amazing book. Pulled me right into the story and I don't know if it's the writing or for me as a mother or both but I'm just wanting to jump in there and stop it. Anyway, great writing, great story, and even better cause to writing these, getting the word out, and in hands of tweens to teens to spread awareness.

Another wonderfully engaging story! I loved how well Zoey and Nicholas worked together! There seemed to be an underlying tension of romance between them, which only served to heighten the angst of the story, which was a little too overdone for my tastes, but didn't detract from my rating because the rest of the book overwhelmed it! Sammy's story was very relatable and I could see it happening in today's schools. Would highly recommend this to anyone with a teen that's online regularly!

A suspenseful story with information that we & our teens need to know

This is a gripping fictional story about sex traffickers and some of the ways they operate. It was good in that it presented some really difficult facts in a way that makes it easier, for teens especially, to handle.

I'm not sure how well the story itself will work in appealing to the average teen. Some of the characters & plot elements seemed unrealistically overdone to create a greater level of angst for Sammy in a short time to get her to turn to an internet friend so quickly. The special team generates all kinds of questions, too.

Still, I have to commend & even recommend this effort. It tells a story that keeps you reading & manages a happy, hopeful ending so that the knowledge you pick up doesn't leave you depressed but instead wanting to do something to help stop this evil. (and there are links after the story to help you discern what you can do)

*Parents will want to read it first to be aware of the tough issues raised & be prepared to to discuss it with their teens - abduction, rape, forced prostitution, etc, aren't told in total graphic detail, but there is some general description that is candid

This was a hard book to read but I am glad I did. The subject matter was about the horrors of sex trafficking and grooming and how insidious they are.

Zoey had been an Olympic hopeful that was snatched and thrown into the sex trafficking trade against her will. :) had been raped, beaten, drugged and forgotten, or so she thought. After months of this torture with no real hope of being freed, she was rescued.

After months of therapy and martial arts training, she became part of an elite group of young people who worked to free others from this horrible life. Her partner, Nicholas, had been trafficked by his own mother.

I won't give away the rest of the story, but sufficeth to say it as a happy ending. While the story death with a difficult subject, it was detailed, without being overly graphic and was clean enough to allow a 13+ reader to read and feel comfortable.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review. I think every parent and young person should read this series of books to become more aware of the predators that lie in wait.

A must read for parents, grandparents, and anyone else who works and loves children. We need to put a stop to trafficking and preditors who claim our youth. Plenty of action and suspense. This story is scary true to life. This is a fabulous eye opener book. I love the idea of undercover youth who help save others from this horrible life. I highly recommend this book. Some material is not appropriate for all readers.

Difficult Read, But Worth It

Zoey is rescued from trafficking and decided to help others, so she joins the Northstar group. She’s given Nicolas as a partner and they go to become friends with Sammy, who feels like her world has fallen down around her. So, she started talking to a guy online. Always a bad idea. Zoey and Nicolas try to help her. I loved the ending! There are a couple swear words and it’s a very triggering topic.

Outstanding

There are not enough words to express how important this book is. Although this particular story may not be fact based the scenario happens to someone's every day! Parents need to read this and help their children learn warning signs and how to protect themselves. I also loved the emphasis on placing your faith in God.

A difficult subject

I wasn't sure I wanted to read what I call a downer book.. I usually read light Christian books with HEA ensure that are predictable but still good reads. I took a chance on this book because I enjoy the author and I'm glad I did. A difficult subject but handled well. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

This story is fiction, but it describes how human traffickers lure so many young women who have seemingly secure lives and stable home life. This book helped me become more aware of signs that someone is being trafficked and what situations to be on the look out for.

Zoey and Nicholas in the story are amazing characters to move forward with what they dealt with being taken and sex trafficking. Also, wanting to help other teen girls/kids who are groomed on social media with fake pages, always caring for the person they want to take, and meeting up secretly. Good books for parent's to read and explain to their kids.

I'm glad Zoey and Nicholas helped Sammy get through everything dramatic with high school cheerleading. Being there for her when Sammy didn't think or believe anyone cared.

I cried at the end of the book because it was sooo good!!

This series needs to be read by young and old alike. As a widow of 12 years, I have tried my hand at "online" dating. I did not use any dating sites. My very first "love" was introduced to me on Facebook. I had fallen in love with this man so deeply. He would tell me things I wanted to hear. I never did meet him in person, but I am sure that with all the grooming he did on me, I would have been sold in another country. It is really sad though because I have had very low self-esteem of myself and like Sammy in this story, just want to be loved.

Strangers pretend on social media.

This is an amazing story. I wish hundreds of teens, both boys and girls, would read this book. Hopefully it would make them aware of the dangers of connecting with people they don't know on-line. The horrors of sex trafficking are beyond anything the normal person can imagine. The sad fact is how this evil is growing and it's big business here in America and in my state of Georgia. Taylor Hart did an awesome work with this book.

everyday to unsuspecting & vulnerable
kids everywhere.
This is a well written story & great characters. I enjoyed reading it. It tugs
at your heartstrings with everything that

Hard to stop once you start reading

This wasn’t an issue for me growing up because there was no social media. But today’s world is so different and ever teen needs to read this book!

This book as well as the rest of the series is very eye-opening. And it makes me very sad that this type of things happen, and I marvel at those that are able to get through situations like this.

As with the prequel it talks about hard issues and you have to be prepared for that. I love the healing and helping that takes place. And of course I love a happy ending.
