Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
This was a great omnibus that made me glad about returning to this world. The time skip was well handled along with Calliande's great over her lost daughter and how it effected Ridmark and their sons. I loved how the first book set the stage well, yet I found the concubine plotline well handled and how it exposes the negative consequences of the topic. I found the battles well written too.
The pains and grief's of life as a human being are so relatable. You feel the pains and victories of the all so human heroes, and the anger and vanity of the wicked foes. The marriage of Ridmark and Calliende, rings so true. It is a great book.
Too long, too descriptive, too slow moving. I dragged myself through this first Omnibus but won't read any more. it could have been a great series if it had moved faster.
Not reading, Goodreads is pure misinformation. Now it says I finished the book, absolutely wrong, haven't touched it. Meanwhile I read daily books from Amazon, non of them mentioned. Their site must not really have a web-master or any quality control.
Expansive world of fantasy, with numerous creatures of the dark world of sorcery and life. Its a fantastic read with fantastical characters and creatures of shadow and death, but with heroes and heroines
Ridmark and The Keeper, swept,by magic,to a far off land, fight to save man kind from The One God, that would enslave the people of their world, fight to help save their long lost kin.... The Story continues.
Typical of this author, another story full of endless battles, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat at the last minute. The underlying plot is obscured by too many schemes within schemes.
