10 volumes #7

Another wonderful volume.
The relationship between Gilbert and Serge is finally blossoming despite all the internal and external obstacles between them.
The gentleness and thoughtfulness through which Serge is gaining Gilbert's trust are truly moving.
The second half of the volume, set in the Cocteau mansion in Marseille, are nightmarish and perverted by the evil presence of Auguste Beau.
Onto volume 8 now and I shall write a full review of the series once I get to the end.

This was another great volume, I loved seeing Gilbert and Serge’s relationship start to truly grow despite everything and Gilbert beginning to genuinely trust Serge. They then get to Marseilles, with the presence of Auguste Beau which was a devastating and terrifying scene. I really think this is a beautiful, haunting, series so far. Though it can be difficult to stomach at times. It treats the subject matter with such maturity. The art is phenomenal, with a lot of symbolic imagery being used. There’s been few manga that have had an emotional impact on me as Kaze to Ki No Uta.
Also I ended up having to switch to the Spanish version of the series since after volume 11 (this release seems to cover the last chapters of vol. 11, the entirety of vol. 12, and the first half of vol. 13 of the original release) of the english scanlation the scans have a huge drop in quality which I found jarring. I really hope there is an official English release one day.
