Really liked this book, I do love a dork story though.
Sloan is trying to forge a new business with her best friend Addison, moving on after her last failed relationship she ups sticks and moves away to start new. But when Addison is sick she ends up working with her brother Alyx and it’s a day to remember, she’s falling for the handsome man but when she overheard him on the phone she ends up devastated, will her heart heal or was this a blow too much?
Alyx has never been able to say no to his sister so when she asks him to help out with her new business venture when she’s sick he finds himself agreeing to help. From the first words he hears from Sloan he’s struck with her perfection and wants her more than anything, but after she’s been hurt so many times will she let him in her heart?
Cute, short and sweet really enjoyable read. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book.

This was a good story. It was quick, sweet and sexy. Alyx agrees to help his sisters business partner because she is sick. Alyx is transfixed by the beauty and he knows she is it for him. Sloan has had some horrible experiences from men and is scared to trust but the pull to Alyx she feels is too strong.
Safety and Spoilers
Completely safe. No ow/om drama, other drama. I wasn’t happy that they waited two weeks to talk to each other over something that was a misunderstanding. H hasn’t been with many women but not much else is mentioned, h is a virgin. No abuse.

Eh. Another book about an over-weight woman with low self esteem. No other story besides her issues and him winning her back even though he did nothing wrong. The writing wasn’t that great either. This author is hit or miss for me.

Who doesn't enjoy cupcakes? Decadent cake. Rich icing. Fluffy filling. Melt in your mouth amazingness that leaves you feeling so warm inside and your sweet tooth satisfied.
Bet Alyx didn't think he'd enjoy cupcakes so much. Or maybe it's the business owner Sloan he enjoys so much? I'll go with the latter.
Alyx and Sloan are thrown together to make her cupcake booth a success when Sloan's business partner, best friend, and Alyx's sister Addison calls in a favor because she's sick. Alyx agrees, reluctantly, and shows up. The day is a whirlwind of flavors, social media posts, laughter, and sales! But even though Alyx is more than Sloan ever hoped for in a proxy business partner, even though Alyx pursues and sees only her, there's a part of Sloan that's hesitant to believe in him and in what they could be. A partially overheard conversation leads to a misinformed conclusion that leaves Sloan firmly against following her heart.
Too bad Alyx isn't willing, or ready, to just let her walk away.
Super cute, super fun story. I've read some of Ms. Hale's stories before but I don't remember any of them making me smile or chuckle as much as this one. It's insta-everything but with warmth and heart mixed in with all that sexy goodness. A definite keeper and a great start to this new series.

Frist of all, I want to say that I'm very happy and thankful that Sloane is vegan. Animals and veganism are very important to me, and in books that I've read, they're usually made to be awful and/or it turns out that they actually eat fish, or they don't eat some certain type of meat, but say that they're vegetarians. And that bothers me very much, because they don't respect something so important.
Now, back to this book. I liked it until the misunderstanding near the end. As soon as he got the call, I knew that she was going to hear something out of context, and I wish there was something else to create conflict. I wish that Sloane was little bit more sure of herself, and that she confronted Alyx when he heard him talk, and not just run away and hide. As much as I liked that she was vegan, I can't rate this more that 2 stars because of that.

Loved it! Alyx is such an adorable, sincere, self proclaimed computer nerd. He's also built and sexy. Sloan is outspoken, sassy, funny, and the best friend of Alyx' little sister. They meet when Alyx shows up to help Sloan, since said best friend/business partner is horribly sick. Alyx is immediately smitten, but Sloan takes some convincing to give their chemistry a chance. Having been hurt in the past, Sloan ends up jumping to conclusions and ending her relationship with Alyx. But Alyx isn't giving up. He determined to get his happy ever after with Sloan!
This story is quick, but sweet and sexy. The perfect start to a new series. I'm really looking forward to reading more!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Sloan and Alyx. Sloan and her best friend Addison own a company that bakes cupcakes and when Addison gets sick, she asks her brother Alyx to help Sloan sell them, but she warns him not to hit on Sloan. Alyx owns his own computer company and is a nerd, but Sloan is attracted to him. When Alyx helps Sloan and then wants to keep helping her get ready for the next sale at the farmer's market, she begins to see he is a good guy. Alyx is very attracted to Sloan and he wants to be with her, but he also knows he has to go slow and not push for too much too fast. I enjoyed this book, i liked Alyx, i think he was a good guy and he never wanted to hurt Sloan. Good one.

He is a single dad of twins his wife passed away after giving birth to the girls. He needs someone reliable to help and do a little bit of stuff around the house. She comes in and she is the perfect person for the job. His heart starts to open up to the possibilities of a new love and She is willing to try it too.
They go out to dinner on the night that his mother in law comes to take care of the girls for him. there is a lot of mixed feelings but by the end of the night it is SOOOO GOOD!!

Good short romance, quite simple, but with a twist. The characters are as sweet as the story. Alyx must help Sloan, a friend of her sister's, to sell her cakes for the opening of their business. Very quickly, Alyx is seduced by the girl and helps her beyond what he had to do, but Sloan has trust issues and Alyx seems too good to be true.

Awww
This was a sweet and cute short story. It just sad that some men are so cruel. It is hard to find men that are not douche bags. I am glad that Sloan finally gave Alyx a chance. It is also nice to read a book that has only a couple of errors and not riddled with them. You must have a pretty good editor. Keep them. Thank you.

What an awesome start to a series. This had so many emotions. Made me happy, tear up, and LOL. Loved the characters. Addison is great, the best friend and kick butt sister. Can't wait for the next one.

Pretty good read, liked the other characters featured in it as well. Over all it was pretty entertaining liked the drama that was thrown in at the end, loved that as well.

This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha males and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.
