Dragged Out
I am a fan of K.C.'s work and I have enjoyed many of her books. This one wasn't bad, but it was entirely too long for what occurred. I felt like several scenarios and conversations were repeated or dragged out longer than necessary. It's her tried a true formula though, alpha male with some street ties and the propensity to unalive people, and some unresolved issues with his ex. Coupled with the relatively good girl who he stakes his claim to. What I enjoyed about this one was that although he was everything I just described, Heavy was raised in a loving home and even at present date had supportive parents who didn't play about him or with him, even at his big age- especially his mom. Shai's parents were hot garbage for most of her life, but the end of the story finds her in a better space with at least one of them. Then there was Proctor and Zoe who had a whole mess of a situation on their own. Told from multiple character viewpoints, there is a lot of drama, a lot of steamy scenes, several glimpses of unconditional love, and many laugh out loud moments. Again, it just dragged out too long for what occurred, and also, the epilouge was kinda underwhelming.
