I thought that this book was absolutely delicious! Dark, intense, sizzling hot and filled with tension, Sophia and Wrath's story takes you on one epic thrill ride. The chemistry between these two is insane and the cat and mouse game they play is as steamy as it is suspenseful. If you enjoy dark romances that feature a hot bad boy that loves to dominate and a strong, fiery woman that craves surrender, you do not want to miss this wonderful read. This is my honest, voluntary review.

This is a fast-paced steamy mafia read with loads of drama, suspense and intensity. Wrath is a mafia assassin and Sophia an FBI agent sent to protect his target. Sparks fly between them and the chase begins can they find a way to be together being from two such different worlds? Great characters and a story that draws you in from beginning to end. I loved it!

winning.He shows no mercy to his prey and losing could make him the
next target.Sophie Waters,a FBI agent, has the man known as the player

the start of a game of cat and mouse which changed her life forever.
Wrath taps into Sophie's submissive nature.She was lost in his prowess.
In his attentions.In His sexuality.In His dominance.The electricity was
overpowering,searing every nerve ending she possessed.She hides her
deep desires behind a a mask.His domination settled her raging nerves.
She had captured a piece of his heart,one he thought was dead.She was
a born submissive.He was a natural dominant.Together they were a

This story has an exciting build- up plus the pace and intensity continues

letting you go.This was a intense romance filled with raw passion,lust
and addiction.Their love was not conventional but oh so magical.The
pivotal moment comes when Sophie has to decide whether to follow
her heart or her mind.
Ms Piper offers her readers a chilly portrayal of the twisted tale of love
as she stripped her characters raw layer by layer.The premise was creative
and the storyline utterly engrossing.

Not quite sure how I feel about this one.
I have read quite a few Mafia romance stories but this one left me a bit uneasy.
SPOILER ALERT:
I had trouble justifying Sophia's instant response to Wrath when she was supposed to be looking out for a man she was to be protecting. Sure, we all want to grab red hot sex on a stick when we can but this seems illogical when she's supposed to be a professional.
Also, while a hot romance should have amazing sex there was such an abundance of it that it almost feels like the story was just tossed it there as an afterthought. And if some man kept lying to me over and over again if he asked me to trust him I'd have told him to get bent even if he did have a magic tongue and dick. Nobody is worth that much aggravation. But to each their own. Personally I would have enjoyed it more with more story and less sex.

You guys have read books like male FBI agent and female serial killers? But have you ever read, female FBI agent x male assassin? This right here was the shit minus a few things.
So, we have both Sophia and Wrath meeting each other one night when they are suppose to be doing a task assigned. In this case, Sophia was to protect a high profile man while Wrath was to kill this man. The agents knew that there was a new player in town, Wrath, killing these high profile men so she was tasked to go undercover and find out. They have tons of hot and steamy sex and when I mean tons, I mean 85% of the time in this story. That was my problem, dark romances books always have to have at least a chapter of sex each time when all I want is some action. I went into this book wanting to see the hunt go down, the killings, the whole mystery shenanigans but all I got the majority of time was plan old sex. Nothing is wrong with a good old smut story but if you were told this was a dark mystery - type mafia story and the trope was FBI agent x assassin.. then you would probably understand where I am coming from.
The ending made up for what I was feeling, the action was more fast paced when it should have been throughout the story but nevertheless, it was indeed well written. I like the way this book was written. It was nice!! Also, I did like the way that Wrath was overly obsessed with her and the twist at the end was literally thrown at my face.. LIKE WHAT?!?!?

I'm honestly surprised that I've finished this book.
More than once I was tempted to just stop and never look back.
The story telling was bad. Bad for me. People who like to read have great imagination, at least I do. That's why I prefer books over movies. Sure I'll enjoy a movie or a show from time to time. But movies have limits to what they can realistically portray, my imagination doesn't.
And that's why story telling in books are so important. It leads your imagination. Yet if there's a plot hole my imagination gets angry. It's very meticulous and detail oriented. If the book tells me there's a gun but then it disappeared - I will wonder. I will ponder, I will try to place it. It would be all dandy but it's not where my focus was supposed to be in that particular scene so at this point I'm annoyed. Plus throw in the lack of world building, the questionable heat and mediocre(at best) BDSM play and its just mehh...
I thought at least the suspense part of the story would be ok as it involved some moral dilema for the MC but there too I've been left with fields of disappointment.
I just realized that nothing leaves me as angry as an unsatisfactory read.

I freaking love this book! Yes, the only bad thing I can say is that a portion of it dragged and I wanted to scream but then I thought to myself, just get through the nitty gritty because it’s needed to get through the story.
Man, there were twists and turns. One sexy AF alpha hero. A badass FBI agent heroine set out to stop him. It’s honestly an amazing story. Everything was so well put together and it ended in the sweetest way.
I wanted to cry during around the 70% mark. There were moments I didn’t think this couple could ever make it.
We follow the story of Sophia Waters and Wrath along a journey of self discovery. As individuals they baffle with what they really want. They are they only ones that can full full the others needs.
You could really feel the love between the two characters in this story. You can literally feel it. It was beautiful. That’s the best word I can use, beautiful. And for me it was perfect. I loved them both and their relationship.

Beautiful story of love formed between a handsome dominant assassin and an FBI agent.
Sophia Waters was on a special assignment for the FBI in Monte Carlo. She was to protect an internet mogul from assignation. She didn’t know she would encounter the assassin and he would ultimately become her lover, and master. Ricardo Wrath Constantino didn’t realize he would find the only woman who would fit every need he had and that was to dominate. She pretended she was a card shark and he was the police officer who caught her cheating. There cat and mouse game of trying to catch his prey and she trying to arrest him created electrifying chemistry that neither could go without. His ultimate assignment was to kill her but his love for her freed his soul. Their true identities unfolded as well as the uncovering the mole in the department. To protect her he had to fake their deaths. This story was so good I didn’t want to put it down, highly recommend.

An explosive read I could not put down

Wrath was an assassin, taught by his father who was himself a master assassin. Then he meets the woman who will change the course of his life forever. Sophia was that woman and a senior FBI agent. She was his salvation as well as his damnation but together they would change the face of the Consortium forever. This book was intense in many ways, there was the drama and the suspense throughout the story that kept me on edge. It was also their attraction to each other, his desire to dominate while her her desire to submit was at war with her job as an agent for truth and justice, but most of all it was the impossibility of a relationship together. An explosive read I could not put down till the end.

Prey is definitely an interesting and engaging story which will keep you up late into the night because you just can't put it down. There are two very strong characters in Sophia and Ricardo. They are polar opposites but yet find they that the major sparks which fly off them both in and outside of the bedroom are what keeps drawing them together.
Sophia is a FBI agent who is very professional and driven. Even though she is strong in her work and her day to day life she is a submissive in private.
Ricardo is a mafia assassin who lives by a code and is both ruthless and precies at what he does when following orders.
They are set against each other as he is ordered by his boss to kill her and she is on the hunt to take him down. As they both hunt each other they both fall prey to the other also. But who is really the hunter and who is really the prey? Or can they both be each to the other and still stay alive and together?

This is a truly intriguing mafia romance & I absolutely enjoyed reading each & every page until the end. The story-line & plot is marvelously well-written with unique well-developed characters which each have their own agendas & a determination to succeed.

One an assassin and one in law enforcement, but when these two tangle in and out of the sheets, it is fiery, combustible, full of domination and submission and mesmerizing to read.
They will play a complex game between them that will include murder, danger, intrigue, suspense, pursuit and capture. It will involve contracts on their lives, betrayal by those close to them and unexpected allies.
In the end their decisions may prove to be their undoing, or the beginning of a new future.

This is quite the compelling read! It is a fast pace g on the edge of your seat read! The story line is riveting, well thought out and detailed, well written, and consistent. Lots of action, drama, suspense, secrets, surprises, witty banter, nail-biting violence, and heart-racing adventure to look forward to in this story. The characters are strong and great together; their chemistry is intense, hot, and undeniable with steamy sex scenes that are very descriptive and off the charts hot! Looking forward to reading the next book from this author. A recommended read.

This book is a little bit different, in that Sophia is a fierce warrior of a woman in the professional life in the FBI but longs to be taken in hand in the dark corners of her heart. Wrath is a killer by trade and a predator at heart. When the two come together Sparks fly as they war for dominance in and out of the bedroom. This takes enemies-to-lovers to a new level as they play a sinfully, seductive game of cat and mouse.

While pretending to be other people, Ashley and Pierre develop a fondness for each other through certain prolacatives.
When things begin to heat up, their professional lives get in the way.
I would definitely recommend this story to find out what happens, both personally and professionally. I was drawn in immediately to the hero and heroine and their zest for life.

The action never stops and is filled with plenty of hot steam to keep you going. The chemistry and passion between the two main characters of Sophia and Wrath is so explosive and inducing that you can not help but wasnt to keep reading. The adoration and care for one another building no matter that they are complete opposites. Their love overcame it all and they got what they both craved and wanted with all their being.

If you enjoy a good dark romance then I can recommend this book to you. I found this book well written with believable characters and an excellent story line. There are many ups and downs along the way and the ending could take a number of different directions so you can never sit back and assume you know what is going to happen (I even thought I knew whether it had a HEA or not but I was wrong, not that I'm going to disclose what happened).
As said if you enjoy something slightly dark and maybe mafia type romances I think you will enjoy this book.
