Patrick Steel
They call him Tricks.
To me, he was the first man I ever felt I could trust.
He annihilated all the stereotypes about men rooted in me, even when he so easily fit the mold.
He wasn’t my type, not at all.
I hated men …
In my last life, anyway.

Savvy Sutton
I call her Savanah.
It isn’t her name, but it made total sense.
She didn’t know who she was, yet she held on to the lies she so desperately wanted to believe in, to save a part of herself.
She tried to fight her attraction for me, and I made damn sure that didn’t happen.
Then …
she tricked me.

Sometimes, the greatest love stories grow from lies.

Patrick and Savvy ❤️🔥💖

This is such an amazingly addictive series. Each book is standalone, but so much better read in order!
Patrick Steel is another gorgeous Steel and Savvy Sutton is a challenge for him. I don’t really know where to start, because this storyline has so much going on. Its loaded with everything that’s so good about this author.
Intense and complicated storyline with sooo many surprises! I really recommend this book

I’ll just start by saying that there is no cheating in this book and whilst it could be read on a stand alone basis, I would personally recommend reading the previous books in this series.

This story for me is about a young lady, Savvy, who without realising, is so lost in the world and we see her embark on quite the healing journey. This journey is triggered by Patrick Steel who on the whole is actually very mature albeit as any young many who experiences heartbreak and loss will act out in the most immature of ways. I really loved how the story primarily focuses on their building friendship and the to and fro they go through while Savvy in particular starts to find herself and I thought this really helped me to connect to them as they become a couple. There was a cheeky little twist added which provided some drama but for me the ending all happened a little quickly and I really wish we had more of them as a romantic couple. Overall though another enjoyable read from this next generation of Steels.

This Second Generation Of Steel is just as Fantastic as the first. Patrick “Tricks” Steel he is the only son of Xavier & Irish and he turned out to be one Amazing Guy.
Always looking out for his crew, always being there for his family but the day he meets Savvy Sutton there is something about her that totally intrigues him.
Savvy Sutton is a young girl who most certainly has her issues but she is also someone who could be misunderstood. Savvy is strong on so many levels but she also is fragile too. When she meets Patrick she can’t help being attracted to him and her walls slowly crumble to let him in.
Watching the relationship between the two of them come together gives you all the feels, there will be some heartbreaking moments but definitely many heartwarming ones too.
If you loved The Steel Men and their stories you most definitely will want to meet all of their children and how Fantastic each and everyone of them has turned out.

I wish I hadn’t read this.

So at this point I have to say I’m done with MJ for a while. I know some of her earlier books featured manwhore hero’s and weak heroines, but most of her recent have at least had halfway decent ones. Not this. Patrick “Tricks” is absolutely the worst of her “hero’s” and that is saying something. He is a giant douchecanoe/ hoebag before the heroine, he met the heroine briefly, hit in her, and then ended up nailing her roommate that night. He even ends up hiding under her bed, because of the RA. He hits on her again and again. She is scared because of his history, but eventually gives in and they are together. Then she tries to take some space because she has had a major upheaval in her life (her father finds her out of the blue and she has to leave the country to live with him. She feels like he deserves better, then we really get a spoonful of how Godawful he is and how weak she is. Not only does he immediately screw a sort of enemy that he knew would bother her (and he did it multiple times) he goes on a rampage of manwhoreness when he cannot even remember the amount of women that he has been with, the implication to me at least 50-100. When they reunite, he does absolutely no groveling for all he has done wrong, not even the screwing of the enemy. He just made a “me Tarzan you Jane” type comment about them being back together and they were. The last chapter is rushed and full of his sexual exploits, with a wam bam thank you mam ending that didn’t even give me time to even give him a chance if I wanted too. No thank you. I honestly never thought I’d read a character of hers that makes young Lucas Links look tame, but truthfully I’d rather have him. He kept it to enough people that he could at least count them, and not her enemies. It’s doesn’t specify if she was a virgin, but it’s heavily implied. The author went this weird route, that I still can figure out how to address. She states over and over again that she likes girls. He decides that she isn’t really gay, because can tell that she is attracted to him 🙄. Then later she says she doesn’t consider herself a lesbian, because people are born gay, but she chose to “like girls”. Then even later she says that she hasn’t ever been with a girl, she just hates men. It was all so weird. I don’t even know how to address it. At first I thought it was super offensive like his magic penis flipped her or something? But as I read further I don’t know if it is since she specified that she didn’t identify as a lesbian. But back to offensive because hello, deciding to tell everyone you like girls because of men? That’s why I didn’t address it at first, I don’t even know how to... Just so weird!! It doesn’t say whether she had been with a guy before, only talked about an ahole who wanted her to do things on his timeline. As for the separation, the implication is that she wasn’t with anyone. She’d been living in Saudi Arabia with her father, who lives by strict customs. Awful isn’t enough of a word to describe this. Beyond disappointed and I’m checking out of the steel crew. I had high hopes, but I really loved the first series and can’t take what she will probably do to the rest of this generation.

This is one of the best second generation books I have read this year and it’s my favourite read so far in this great series. I fell hook, line and sinker for Patrick ( Tricks) Steel and I loved the strong sassy Savvy Sutton who didn’t want anything to do with her rich elite college mates.
Savvy doesn’t really know who she is, she holds on to the lies told to her to protect and save herself so why is Tricks so attracted to the girl who works part time in the local coffee shop to make ends meet.
Tricks doesn’t understand why he is drawn to this stunning girl but what he does know is she needs to open up and trust the people around her if she is ever going to be truly happy and he is willing to show her that not all men are bad.....
This story touched me on so many levels, I loved the characters and I loved the banter they shared, I loved how Tricks becomes Savvy’s protector even when she didn’t want him too, the determination to show her he wasn’t like any man she has known was hot and exhilarating, I loved catching up with the rest of the Steel family without them taking over Tricks and Savvy’s journey and I was captivated by that journey, in fact this book hit my kindle at 3am and as soon as I picked it up, I knew I wasn’t going to put it down until I had read the final line. This is one of those special reads that stays with you long after the final words have been read, it’s got the perfect mix of love, drama and humour and it will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout as you get to know these guys and you get to see just why Savvy behaves the way she does but not until the final few chapters so be prepared and have time to finish what you start because I guarantee you won’t be able to put Tricked Steel down.
Loved it Ms Fields, great job and looking forward to the next instalment in the Steel Crew.

This is an honest review for an arc received.

“Well, that’s going to make me try to make you mine a bit harder, but I’m not one to shy away from doing the work when it comes to getting what I want.”

Savvy Sutton is a head-strong, attitude wielding, feminist. She hates the entitlement that many of her classmates seems to have. Although she puts Patrick in that same class, he quickly shows her that just because you have money, that money doesn’t make the man. When Tricks inserts himself into her life, will she be able to resist him?

“I’ll never lie to you, so truth? I like the way you react to me. I like the way you look at me.”

Patrick “Tricks” Steel is a natural born protector. Even though this makes up a lot of his character, he also believes that sometimes you need to fight your own battles. He is instantly taken with the sassy, attitude giving barista. Tricks proves to Savvy that not all men are bad, and that given the chance he will be someone she can depend on. When a turn of events happen to Savvy, will Tricks be the man she needs him to be?

“Only girl I’ve ever said I love you to, only girl I’ll ever love. Only girl I want forever with.”

5 absolutely amazing stars!! I’ve waited for Tricks’ book since this series started. Savvy gave him a run for his money. I love the dynamic between the two. You see Tricks amazing heart, confidence and his never back down attitude. Savvy was lost in a way, not knowing who she really was. He helps her understand herself in so many ways. I love how even after the events that rattled Savvy, their love never died. Bravo MJ Fields! I thought Justice would be a tough act to follow, but Patrick just stole the spotlight. #foreversteel #steelcrew

You're in for one hell of a ride.
Meet the calm to the Steel Crew storm, Patrick Steel.
He's a protective and patient alpha, and just like all the rest of the Crew, when he sees his future, he knows it.

Holding on to the beliefs she was taught all her life, Savvy's free spirited ways have veiled the beauty of so much of the word she's lived in, even the falling autumn leaves.

When the winter wind blows and the smokescreen she's lived behind slowly disappears, she begins to see things are not always the way we are taught to believe they are.

Slowly, very slowly, they become friends, until realizations catch fire and nothing, not even time can stop what's meant to be from happening.

I was a little surprised when I started reading Tricks story to find that it overlapped a couple of the Steel Crew books timeline. I always love how MJ includes bits about the rest of the Crew so you stay up to date on the whole family.

Trick is taken with Savvy from the moment he hears her voice at the drive thru. Even more when he sees her and she has nothing but attitude for him and his jackass friends (which are really his cousins). Savvy has been raised to hate men. She especially dislikes entitled rich manwhores. That’s exactly what she believes Trick to be. It doesn’t take long for her to discover he and the men of the Steel Crew are different. I love that Trick wants to be around her so strongly that he tries everything to just be her friend.

Savvy is so determined to hate men that she leads everyone to believe she’s into girls. I can see how at times readers could be a little confused about her sexuality. I was so happy that through their developing relationship Trick stayed true to his feelings for Savvy even though he knew they may never be reciprocated.

Of course late in the story things fall apart and there’s a major plot twist I never saw coming. Over all I really enjoyed the story and the happy ending. I just felt the twist happened really late in the story and then the ending was rushed. I look forward to the next Strew Crew book.

5 star Review Tricked Steel (Steel Crew #5) by M.J.Fields

If you are a fan of the original Steel series then you will be as excited as I was to jump into Tricked Steel and get to know more of the second generation of the Steel family.

It was fun to be back in the Steel world and Tricked Steel was a fabulous addition to the series. This time it is Patrick ( Tricks) Steel and Savvy Sutton’s story which was at times an emotional roller coaster of a read.
There is something about Savvy that calls to Tricks and he isn’t sure why but he knows that he has to follow his gut instinct. I fell hard and fast for Tricks and the woman who is perfect for him, feisty, sassy Savvy.

My heart broke for Savvy at times, she continues to believe the lies she has been told to protect herself, even though she doesn’t really know who she really is. I found that so sad at times. There were times I laughed, times I swooned, times I was brought to tears but above all I was entertained.

The banter between Tricks and Savvy was amusing and there is an obvious connection between them, if only Tricks can prove to her that he can be trusted. He may have a past but Savvy is the one for him and all bets are off as he focuses on her. An added bonus of course is the appearance of other members of the Steel clan, it just adds an additional layer of enjoyment to the story.

Patrick Steel known as Tricks is from the second generation Steel Brothers headed by the most wonderful Mama Steel.
I totally loved their fathers books and now I am so enjoying their offspring’s , living in a different world than their fathers did .
Patrick has a very lovable nature, is extremely caring , he likes girls , he has  a past but who hasn't !
He meets a beautiful brown eyed girl ,Savvy Sutton is her name and being sassy is her nature..
There is so much to know about Savvy she carries so much of her past around with her it weighs her down.
Not really knowing who she is or where she is going in her life, it is extremely hard .
Patrick knows what he likes and Savvy is on his radar....

I great storyline that is written in MJ Fields style which I always devour. And enjoy ...
Everyone will love Patrick ------ a lovely human … I would easily recommend this book.....
Thanks MJ

Oh man, this book...

Tricks is the most sensitive of the gang, for sure. I loved how awkward he was at times, especially when his dad was around, embarrassing him.

Savvy is a kick butt and ask questions later type of girl. Her past was ... so much going on, so much pain, abandonment. You really felt for her. She won't let you, though! Especially no man.

When the story comes together at the end, all you can do is sit there with your mouth hanging open. Did not see that coming.

“Ms. Sutton, class is about to begin,” Professor Andrews says.
“I have my period,” I say, knowing it will shut her up and she’ll let me leave.
“That was last week’s excuse, Ms. Sutton.”
“Maybe she has an irregular period,” Chloe defends me … or so she thinks.
Bitch.
“Jesus Christ,” Patrick says.
I turn and look at him as he’s running his hand through his hair. “What?”
“Sit down, Savvy.”
The way he said it, the tone isn't playful or pissed like when he yelled at me when I was tearing out of Crystal Lake, but … with an authority that would normally have me baring fangs, yet has me sitting and sitting perfectly still.
He then leans forward and looks at Chloe. “You have a problem, and it’s not her. She’s the one who’s been wronged by you, so until I have time to help you two sort your shit, leave her alone.”
I look at her and nod obnoxiously.
“And you, ” he whispers sternly, drawing my attention back to him, “ you are my friend, like it or not. So, stow the badass, with me at least.”
“Mr. Steel,” Professor Andrews snaps.
He looks forward and smiles. “Professor Andrews, I'm so excited to be part of your class.”
She tilts her head to the side, eyeing him skeptically, and then she nods once before addressing the entire class. “Today, we’re starting the unit on women’s suffrage. Please take out your tablets, and I’ll airdrop you your first required reading.”
What. The. F*ck. Just. Happened?

I have enjoyed Ms. Field's work for a long time and I this book did not disappoint. Not only have I loved Ms. Field's work, but I love the Steel family as well and this series gives me this opportunity to catch up with the old and new crew. So in this addition, we get Patrick's story and I've got to say, what a story it was.

Patrick or Tricks we have seen pieces of in the other books in this series and now we get his whole picture. He was the character that is always there for everyone in his circle. He has such a great heart and a big heart that shows through out this whole book. I enjoyed watching him fall for Savvy and seeing his patience as he waited for her to open up to him. He turned out to be the perfect mix his parents, Xavier and Taelyn and I loved seeing the brief interactions that he had with them in this book as well.

Savvy. Where to start with Savvy?? She was such a strong character that started out knowing where she stood with her beliefs on the world while lost in her past. She had been wounded by circumstance and the wronged opinions of others. She is sassy and doesn't trust others easily. She is the perfect match for Patrick.

Patrick and Savvy's story happens at the same time as Kiki and Brand's, Truth and Tobia's and Justice and Gabriella's story so some of the events were just tipped upon since they were part of the other's story. I liked the interactions between the cousins but I was disappointed that we didn't see more of their HEA at the end of their story but I guess can we every say that the story is every over? We get a glimpse of what is to come in future series with Trias and her story as we know some of the story already.

I was sorry to see this story end as I have felt with all the others in this series. I look forward to seeing what happens next with this new generation of Forever Steel. I was hooked on the story and I recommend this book as well as the others in this series to others.

I have to start this by saying how much I love the cover... HOT! Now for the story itself, second generation Steel are such a force to be reckoned with. This story took us back through some past storylines but all from a new perspective. It took me a while to warm up to Savvy, but once you see what a firecracker she is, you can't help but want her to succeed. Her feminist beliefs come from the background she was raised in and she speaks the truth and lives by her own set of rules and I admired her for that. She is definitely a little lost when it comes to her sense of identity and this is where Patrick Steel AKA Tricks enters the scene. He is happy to be friends with Savvy even though he may want her in a different way than she wants him, he cares enough to want to be her friend first if that's what she needs for now.

This second generation is quite different to the stories of their parents, we are seeing them at a younger age in their teens go through the pressure of high school, first loves, high drama, the new digital age of social media and confused and overwhelming feelings of teenage angst. MJ captures this new generation with all their flaws and this is why it brings up so many emotions. I love her writing style, always have, always will.

There is huge twist towards the end, no spoilers, but hang on to your kindle because I definitely felt like I went through a rollercoaster of emotions with this one. I laughed at those crazy cousins and their antics, loved seeing a small cameo from the first gen parents and seeing Tricks interact with Savvy was pure magic! Thanks for giving us this second generation of Steel they are an absolute trip! Can't wait for the next instalment. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and this is my honest review.

I’m totally invested in the Steel Crew series and was so excited to read Patrick’s (aka Tricks) story!

Just before starting at Seashore Academy with the crew, Tricks meets Savvy. It doesn’t exactly go well for him but he sees a fearlessness and confidence in her that he likes. Savvy is headstrong and full of attitude. She’s real and raw, unfiltered, cute and savage, part gypsy, part hippy and a total feminist. And Tricks is intrigued. He’s also adamant that they will be friends. She doesn’t have friends, doesn’t want friends and doesn’t think she needs one, she doesn’t trust easily or anyone for that matter (especially men). She doesn’t think she needs anyone, but the truth is she’s a bit lost because she’s alone. That is until they become actual friends. And that’s a big deal because she’ll never have a better friend than him and he makes her feel things she’s never felt before...

Tricked Steel was a more laid back story than some of the earlier books in the series but it’s totally fitting because it’s just like he is. I’m not suggesting that there’s nothing intense about this book, but there’s a calmness to this story, a calmness that he possesses. We totally get to see why Tricks is the go to guy with all the cousins drama because he always keeps it together.

Patrick Steel has the lines, the looks, a huge heart and he's the glue that keeps his Crew together always there with words of advice for each and every one of them.

Savvy Sutton needs no one so she thinks, she hates men and those who think they are entitled just because they have money so when Patrick Steel aka Tricks and his crew rock up to Seashore Academy she pegs him for another entitled rich kid but little does she know that this guy will be her number one fan, proving that not all men just take what they want.

This story spans over the books that we have already read showing us glimpses of that family bond we love. Its full of laughs, banter, family and love. It also has a twist and a few bumps along the way but as normal mj never leaves us without our happy ending.

I for one cannot wait to read the next Steel Crew. Xx

Tricked Steel, book 5 in the Steel Crew series is my favorite of the series and has truly grabbed my heart! I have been a long time fan of the Steel family and love this second generation of characters just as much!
Patrick is simply a good guy befriending the girl who hangs around the perimeter of the school social circles and offers her his friendship. He was raised to have a big, caring heart and it is so evident in this story!
Savvy is passionate, independent, stubborn and a tough nut to crack but she keeps so much of her true self hidden from others and now Patrick is bringing some of those walls down. They have a connection that has just grown stronger as Patrick works to show Savvy what it means to have a friend and someone who truly cares.
These characters and this story really spoke to my heart and I enjoyed every part from the beginning to the end.

I just ended Tricked & my emotions are ALL OVER!!! Patricks book is one i have waited for since Mj started the "Crew" Series. Patrick is the one in every book that is sought after for matters of the heart & help. I've always seen him as the glue that holds the Crew. With that said.... Tricks story is light, laughter & love with a few bumps in the road. It made me laugh out loud, angry & cry but over all it made my heart full.......for true love never fades...
I wish i could give this a rating of 100,000,000 stars bc that's how many lifetimes i'd fight for this man & his heart!!! Mj another AMAZING READ!!!
I have to say My & Max are too damn much my stomach hurt & tears ran down my face...can not wait to watch them fall.

OMG! My heart melted for Patrick & Savvy! There were times the tears just poured out of my eyes and not because I was sad. It was for beautiful & surprising moments. Tricks is a Steel through & through...Plays hard until he finds his “MINE” and he fights hard to get and keep them. Savvy’s definitely not what she first appears to be and Tricks sees deep into who she is before she even knows. MJ this is another amazing second generation story and as always getting more of the original Steel’s is always pure pleasure! Such a great addition to the series! #foreversteel

Patrick “Tricks” has my heart! He is one of the kindest Steel men, and that’s saying something. The way he respects, protects, and encourages women is amazing.

Savvy has been alone for so long she doesn’t know how to let someone in. Because Patrick is male it makes it even harder to break down her walls. But he persists because he can see how important she is.

I loved this book. The way MJ Fields writes about the Steel family makes me want to find them and join them for dinner. This is a must read! Just try not to fall for Patrick.

Hot dam. Jumped in and got all the feels. What a roller coaster of a ride. Patrick is one amazing compassionate sexy sure of himself alpha. Savvy is one
smart compassionate woman. They make for one interestingly complicated couple. Savvy has a lot of personal baggage. I could not wait to see where they would go. Loved the twists in this story. They are definitely each other’s better half. A must read.

OMG this book was so emotional and full of hurt. Not knowing who you are and then finding out some things you thought were true are not. Finding the guy who you didn't want to have anything to do with becomes your everything and more. A love you thought you could get over only to find out that they are your everything. This book was about love gained then lost only to gain it again. I love this book and can't wait for the others.

I love the.... it’s me savvy Sutton (you’ll know what I mean when you read the book). Tricks you gotta love and did from the beginning but Savvy not so much but then she grew on me more and more, Savvy is a strong, confident yet lonely and vulnerable young women. I love the build up of their relationship and how they develop and interact with each other
I love the whole steel family dynamics and now want to read the other steel books ! Great read !!

I received a free copy of this book.

I enjoyed this book. It runs concurrently with previous books in the series. Trick is a great character. He deals with Savvy the best way he can, which is really well for the most part. Savvy is a militant feminist that needs to find her way because she has herself stuck. Her real past isn’t known until almost the end. The last few chapters have some really abrupt endings and happenings that are startling, but Trick keeps pushing until the end.

Tricks is the son of Xavier and Taelyn.
He is his father’s son, passionate and driven.

Savvy is feisty, sassy, raw, and has her secrets.

Love how their friendship developed, the banter, the tension.

The ending was bit rushed.

Amazing story of how true friendship can turn into so much more. This is one of my fave Steel Crew reads. Savvy is one tough young lady but Patrick is all Steel. These two drive each other crazy while bringing out the best of each of them.
Steel forever.

Savvy and Patrick were made for each other, she needed someone to have patience with her and show here what a real man was and he needed to have someone want to be with him for who he was not what he could give them. This is my favorite in the next generation books. Loved every word of it!!
