Brandon does not stand a chance, against his four-year-old twin sons. The energy those two possess could energize, a small company. His divorce was finalized, three months ago. It actually, ended eight months ago. When he came home from, a five-day road trip, the house is void of adults.

The boys were there, unattended and crying. Confronting his ex she said, it had only been a couple of, minutes. But, the app he had, to track her said, it had been hours. She said she was in the zone, and Inspiration struck. So, she went with it. She had been so, focused she didn't bother, to get a sitter for the boys. Gosh, no!

It had slipped her mind, he was gone, and they would be home, alone. She's an influencer, and has, to go with her creative side, that’s what her followers, look for. In the divorce, she only received what she was ever, given as gifts from, Brandon, and nothing else per the prenup. She didn't want the kids, but, only three weeks each summer.

But, now he is reaching out to, Emma who doesn't mind helping, but, she gets together with, Kendall, and, Chloe. They are at the coffee shop, Kendall works at, about how he may now need, a nanny. The boys are having meltdowns, and, he is repeatedly late, for practice. When a girl in the coffee shop, hears and turns over her resume, letting them know she is looking, for employment. She's done lots of, babysitting and would like, to be considered. Then, told them her references, are listed.

After calling, Sydney's said, reference, and then she talks to, Brandon into getting a nanny. Chloe sets up a meeting, at a park. It's this meeting most of, which her answers soothed, Brandon. However, it was when she saves, Milo from falling off, the jungle gym. He was scared, yet she was using a calming voice to, Milo telling him they were safe. Also, telling him how they, were both okay. Milo thanks her, and hugs her. Brandon figures out she didn't know, Milo was his boy. She was just saving, a random child. She’s hired.

On the first day, she has no clue, what he does for a living. But, she knows he has bucks, by the house alone. But by all the hockey memorabilia she figures he is a collector. She’s thinking he might be a sports agent. Then, she hears him telling the boys, about it being a late-night, practice night. So, now she is lost. The boys move quickly into, what position their dad plays, and, then if she has a jersey. She feels at a total loss, and embarrassed.

Then, the thought hits like, a lightning bolt. He’s wealthy, practices every day hence a crazy schedule, and works at the arena. Then, there is the clue of, the position he plays center, on offense. It took her more time than usual, to figure out, the jerseys, and all, are his. He is a professional, hockey player. She respects pro athletes for the time, and dedication it takes, to hone their sport, and their bodies, to perfection. This is the best job move it turns out for all of them. Until...

Brandon has lived his life believing, love is enough, but then his ex rips a hole, in his heart. The heart remains open, despite the past hurt. He meets, Sydney knowing for the first time in a long time, she looks like a possibility. A good story of reaching, for more. To not close yourself off, to your decided dream as a young adult. So that, you pass up the gift right in front of you.

Penalty Kill

I have read all the Fury books to date. This one was a little disappointing, the plot was rushed and didn’t make sense. There were almost kisses and a few discussions in a months time and love and committing to a family was discussed. I know they lived in the same compound, but there wasn’t a lot on time spent just the two of them, no dating, not much time alone not even a kiss and love is mentioned.

She states she wants to leave he starts protecting his heart and giving her space to make her decision and then she states it is his fault for pulling back. Faulting him made no sense he did try and she shut him down and said it was r fair. More time needed to be spent on this plot. On the antagonist plot and on the developing relationship. Taking the kids to a game, some pool time and preparing some dinners doesn’t make a relationship.

Everyone knew their was a time limited she made it clear but everyone was surprised when she started there was still a limit to her staying, a few minutes that is not long enough for someone to change plans, the story should have gone at least through a year.

Chloe needing her at the hospital made no sense, she had women she knew a lot longer she could lean on. It really felt like the author just wanted the book out as quickly as possible. I like to he series but sorry, I was very unsatisfied with this story.

Loved the first of the series and hoped the others would continue. In some ways they have, boy meets girl, fall in love, argue, make up, etc... All really clean, no sex. Kind of reminded me of those old high school romance books we had in the 80s. The problem was they all were in love and ready to commit within weeks of knowing one another. Which happens yes but not for a whole sports team within a year. This one especially was hard because it involved 2 kids, a vindictive ex, hiring a woman to be the nanny that someone met in a coffee shop and romance. It was way out of reach. The other issue is the books keep getting shorter and shorter, less than 200 pages most of the time. Glad I had Kindle unlimited for them and didn't pay $5 plus for each one

A super sweet hockey romance. I’m a huge fan of single dad romances and downloaded this one as soon as I read the blurb. Brandon is trying desperately to juggle his career and caring for his twin boys. Sydney is a wandering soul, new in town, she finds herself in the right place at the right time. Although very different, Brandon and Sydney work as a couple. Getting their happily ever after isn’t easy but it is special. If you’re looking for a sweet sports romance this is the book for you.

Life Plan Changes

Brandon and Sydney had both experienced a lot in their lives, and not all of it was good. Fate (and the Pride) had brought them together, but various things were keeping them apart. Add in adorable 4 year old twins Finn and Milo, and you have a sweet story that has some horrible moments to get through. Thank goodness for happy endings.

Heartfelt story

I loved it but it played with all the emotions. I sometimes wanted to laugh, cry or even get angry. When a mother walks away and leaves her babies then used them as a pawn infuriates me. They did have a happy ending though. I loved thisbook.

Meeh

The storyline, like most in this series, is rushed and not totally believable. In love in a month without one kiss? This could've been such a great story if it had more content.

What a good read!

I really enjoyed this. Original storyline that tugged at the heart and it was just really really sweet. I love the single dad/nanny trope all. It’s not steamy but I didn’t even really realize until I was writing this review.

Change

This story surprised me! I've loved this series from the start, but Brandon was a mystery. Brandon and Sydney's story pretty much summed up life. You never know how or what will cause your world or life to change!

I would of loved it just for how much Sydney was good for the kids. I didn't connect her much with Brandon....no sizzle or depth to their "love".

So I loved the characters but didn't feel the love.
