A Dark Inheritance

Rate this book
What if your guardian angel could grant you powers you don’t understand? What if demons could, too? Chanta Larr was a sixteen-year-old beauty queen, until her dark powers manifested. Her mother, fearful for the life of her youngest child and unable to purge Chanta of the evil inside her, locks her away. Chanta resigns herself to a life in a dark room with a warden for a mother . . . until the family is visited by a strange woman who calls herself the Headmistress of Prisanni’s School for the Blessed. Chanta’s mother gratefully accepts the woman’s offer to take her daughter away. As Chanta learns of her true heritage and the curse she bears, she uncovers secrets about the afterlife, the war being waged between the four Realms, and her father’s involvement. Could Chanta be the key to ending the war and saving the human world? Or will she destroy it all?

A YA fantasy that will make you desperate for book 2
Cora's plot and the story unfolds beautifully. She captivates you with her descriptions. Bombarding you with new details with every chapter she builds the world magically.
From Preface to Epilogue, the book will be hard to put down as you create a connection with the characters. With all the twists making you jump, the book is enthralling.
Book1lays the foundation of a great series and the coming book(s) would be fascinating. The piece of work is done through flamboyant imagination bringing all the important elements and colours of fantasy.
I would give this book 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and recommend to all the book lovers wanting to start a fresh, YA fantasy series.
Looking forward to more of Cora's style in book(s) to follow.
