And the beat goes on . . .
This third book held me spellbound, as I mentally urged Maggie to do what she needs to, in order to help the Ship, called Earth by the Peabrains, to readjust itself, and get back into whichever mode Maggie finally decides is best for everyone.
Maggie literally has the weight of all the billions of lives inhabiting this Ship, on shoulders that are slowly adjusting to such a weight.
She finds that, in order to go forwards in learning all she can about her own brand of magic, that she needs to confront what has been buried deep in her heart, ever since her father died, when she was a young child.
With Simon Wesley as an example of what can go wrong, Maggie slowly - so very slowly - starts to learn to trust those around her.
But, when she discovers that Jake is, in fact, half Peabrain, and half Kashgar, that trust gets ripped apart once more, and it's going to take more than even her most loved Sister, Diana, to heal that wound.
But, with the fate of the very Earth itself, at stake, Maggie really needs to step up her game!
I loved this book. There was so much happening, all the time, and it had me, in turn, either worried, scared, sad, and laughing out loud with the absurdities of a Raccoon, wearing a t-shirt, and Short Shorts, while dumpster diving for doughnuts, that I was exhausted as I reached the end! Lol
I'm really loving this Terranavis World. Its magic is both hilariously funny, but also amazingly, wonderfully, beautiful in its connectedness throughout the Earth.
It made me wish, so much, that this was really how things worked, as so much could be done to fix the things going on In our own reality, if it were!
I know! If wishes were horses then beggars would ride! Lol
There will always be someone willing to spoil things, just because they could, or for power.
But, much like the Huldu, I like to think that there's still enough goodness in the world, to be able to change things for the better - if we ALL try hard enough!
Bernie was right, I think, in finding that the level of hope, that all we Peabrain's tend to go through life holding on to, is one of our greatest strengths, as Hope is such a strong emotion, and lasts so much longer than most any other!
Anyhoo, I'm wasting precious time, gabbling on, as I really want to get to Book Four: 'The Magic Quest', to find out what will happen when Maggie goes through 'That' door, so I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!
