So, I picked this up to read because it is by the same author who does "Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji," Yana Toboso. (This is another of her pen names) It is a collection of yaoi short stories covering everything from model/singers to school boys to supernatural. (It's nice the characters interconnect through each story.) It has all the yaoi standard;, beautiful men, seme & uke, arrogance, hot ecchi scene, lots of blushing & tears, rich/poor, misunderstandings, etc. (a toilet is NOT a seat!) The volume was okay, I think I just prefer her other works more. In my opinion most of the singles are a good enough base to expand & add multiple volumes. Not that it retracts from the story, but I went into it hoping one of the couples might look a little like Sebby & Ciel, which none do. Her drawing style for most of this is very different from "Black Butler" which was surprising & nice. With some mangaka, I swear you can't differentiate between the B&W characters from one series to another. (I'm looking at you Bisco Hatori.)
It was cute & a nice collection. If you have an hour to kill give it a read.

i am writing my thoughts about each story as i go so here goes,,,

STORY 1: the entire time i was reading this, i was thinking about whether that toilet actually had a seat or was the seme just sitting. like on the ring.

STORY 2: this is one was one of favorite stories in this manga probably. also two story in a row with the misunderstanding and light jealousy trope?

STORY 3: was really hoping that the cutesy one was going to be the seme this time,,, i am once again failed. at least this one wasn’t exactly a shota.

STORY 4: the dogs out in the cover,,, that guy got really really deep for a moment,,, philosophical conversations? in MY shotacon? it’s more likely than you think! OKAY NO. THIS IS MY FAVORITE. THIS IS THE FAVORITE STORY HERE. i don’t know this anthology was all about gay shota-coded sex and stuff but the ending of this short story was kind of so bittersweet. maybe i am just easily impressed but “this is okay, isn’t it? you conquered me so easily, that’s all… hey, there are things i want to ask you. when i tell you my feelings, with those thin arms of yours… do it without hurting me somehow. do it kindly.”

STORY 5: do you think the couples here ever have this kind of meeting together and discuss why they all happen to coincidentally and collectively date guys who look like children.

STORY 6: kira mentioned 🗣️🗣️🗣️ dark yagami keeps kids in his basement i guess,,, this might be the intriguing story premise here, it’s got the master x pet thing, supernatural element, all of that. a solid one.

according to my manga reading website, there’s six chapters in total, i am not sure if that’s really like that or if i am missing anything but that’s all. this is actually my first time with shotacon so, that’s something ? i haven’t read or watched black butler but people are really out here saying that sebastian and ciel don’t have shit going on when the writer writes stuff like this,,, it’s got the average yaoi tropes with high school relationship, musicians, models, rich and poor, supernatural. overall, solid stuff.

i really really love the early 00’s style (and yanao’s style, even though it’s not as beautiful as black butler), the stories were... quite something, and extremely short
