Beautifully drawn account of Wij Zijn Hier, the refugee collective seeking a place to stay in Amsterdam. I love the way Carrot raises awareness to the plight of Wij Zijn Hier: documenting them rather than her interactions with the group. She is an excellent observer and knows how to transfer what she sees onto paper with care and wit. That’s why the novella leaves me dissatisfied: it’s very short. I’m sure that there’s so much more to tell about We Are Here, and how Carrot observes them.
