This book aims to open up the conversation about a topic that is still surrounded by taboo and shame. Wow, I wish I could give this book one thousand stars! This book is such a wonderful and educational resource that EVERYONE WITH A VULVA SHOULD READ!! Hilde has started a new conversation around sexual health and vulvas and it's amazing. 100% recommend!
This is the kind of book that should be in all school libraries, sex education curriculum, and general mainstream and education. It’s part science, part art, and part therapy. For anyone who has ever struggled with their vulva self image, body image generally, just has a vulva, knows someone with a vulva, or generally just is alive today… you should read this. It’s so educational and even though I considered myself to be pretty clued up on vulvas I still learnt so much, and it was inspiring and eye opening to read the lovely stories from people who have sent in pictures of their vulvas to be pained. Strongly recommend and even strongly recommend for people who have children or young people in their life cos this book is something that young people NEED.
an important & empowering book. it honestly shocks and disgusts me just how many people have been shamed by family or sexual partners over how their vulva looks. if only those people had a book like this and understood how vastly different one body part can appear. which is exactly why this book exists. it also features trans & non-binary experiences and vulvas from all over the world, as well as use of trigger warnings when needed (rare.)
This book is absolutely wonderful for all genders and all ages. The vulva has been misrepresented and misunderstood too long. Thankfully, this book combines medically accurate information with body-positive drawings and stories. I'll be treasuring my copy!!!
So, if you want to learn about vulva's diversity, you need to read this. Is a whole studio about it. I thought this book was only about illustration of different kind of vulva, but then, when I read the investigation of Hilde about these, I die of excitment.
When it arrived, I flipped through the illustrations of vulvas and read through the pages of information and was surprised to learn a lot about female anatomy which I thought I already had a good understanding of, being a 25 year old woman.
The book explores the themes of diversity, body positivity and inclusivity and I think it is great!
Love it! If you are a woman, you need to read this! That's all.
I thought this book about vulvas was weird when I saw it. In fact, I thought the whole movement was weird. But I bought the book anyway out of curiousity. When it arrived, I flipped through the illustrations of vulvas and read through the pages of information and was surprised to learn a lot about female anatomy which I thought I already had a good understanding of, being a 34 year old woman. The book explores the themes of diversity, body positivity and inclusivity and I think it is great!
This is an absolutely incredible book everyone should read! I wish I’d had this book 7 years ago. These things should really be taught in schools, but unfortunately sex education doesn’t tend to be thorough and diverse.
